I don't quite get today's "Questionable Content" strip

Yeah, it’s not much of a bar. I agree that the social issue stuff is usually pretty forced in the comic but I just read it as part of my webcomic lineup because it’s usually entertaining enough to spend twenty seconds a day on. Read it for the punchlines.

And besides as mentioned earlier, it’s May. We know that she understands like no one else the major aspect of injustice that involved her prior situation and the scope of what is happening to her and at large. And her go-to defense mechanism is to act up full crude. So of course SHE would use a trivializing phrase. Because otherwise she has to own that she is exhibit one in trying to fix what’s wrong not just with her but with the world, when we know her own reaction was that she did not deserve it, all she wanted was a body that did not fall apart.

And yes, the entire population of QC regulars seems to be from Planet Woke and Jeph has signalled so as well. Even the clueless ones like Clinton. So it is what it is.

The recent Clinton storyline is another thing I’m unhappy about.

Clinton was attracted to both Brun and Elliot. He went out on a tentative date with Elliot and ran into Brun. He talked about his feelings with Brun and resolved that situation. He then talked about his feeling with Elliot.

And suddenly everyone’s unhappy with Clinton. Shouldn’t we be giving him credit for actually talking to people about how he feels? That’s what everyone in the strip is always saying after all. But when Clinton does it, he’s wrong because his feelings made someone else unhappy. Well, yes, feelings do that sometimes. You don’t tell everyone to express their honest feelings if you’re not willing to accept that sometimes you’re going to hear things you don’t want to.

Could Clinton have handled his conversation with Elliot better? Sure. But should we expect people like Clinton to be perfect? No. We shouldn’t act like social awkwardness is acceptable coming from a cute girl like Brun or Hanners or Emily or Marigold but not acceptable for Clinton.

Yeah, I thought there might be some conflict when Tai hooked up with Dora but Marten was totally fine with it. I would not be okay with my boss hooking up so quickly with my ex.

a few weeks ago there was a joke about a character not liking romantic comedies and at the bottom, Jeph writes "I don’t lie them as much either as I write one "

you know one thing with all the new characters is at some point he’s going to retire a few of the older ones … as I said in a newer QC thread I attempted I think after there married Dora’s going to sell/give the coffee shop to Hannelore as that’s going to get a job somewhere else which was discussed for a few days … also I think claire and marten had a conversation along those lines when she made marten get a bank account …

you forget the weekend after they broke up tai pretty much set up a one night stands at her friends party for marten which didn’t do much for marten …

You don’t hit on other people when you’re on a date with someone else. You don’t reveal other people’s attraction to their crushes without their permission. Those are MAJOR asshole moves.

Wasn’t the whole Clinton/Elliot thing pushed by yay (aka spookybot) and Renee as a put up or shut up proposition (in different strips)?

you know I thought that was odd since Renee had a big thing about throwing out her pick up of the night when he tried hitting on Brun for a few days

At first, I thought it was going to end as “Brun’s not ready for a relationship” but I think the hidden purpose is/was the robot friend of roko’s who has a crush on her is going to stumble into some type of awkward relationship with her …

I don’t feel those things happened. I don’t feel Clinton asking Brun if she found him attractive was hitting on her. He was just finding out where he stood. Brun seemed to take it that way; she responded by asking Clinton if he found her attractive. And then she told him she wasn’t attracted to him. Brun has said she prefers when people openly tell her something rather than assume she’s picking up on hints.

As for Elliot’s crush on Brun, Clinton didn’t reveal that. He asked Brun if there were any other men who she was attracted to. It could have been any one of the other five men that exist in this universe.

That’s a fair correction. Even still, I think it was dickish to make that inquiry without Elliot’s permission.

No heavy analysis, just popping by to say that “To be honest, I would have expected you to want more holes” was, for me, the most enjoyable QC punchline in ages.

To be fair, people showing poor social skills is pretty much the central theme of this web comic.

You called it. Here comes Millefeuille.

Looks like we are being introduced to three new characters, including a grumpy robot and Willow.

I haven’t bothered to run any numbers but it sure feels like that town is heavily weighted in population towards the female side. And basically every android of note (as in ones that get storylines) is a woman as well.

Android-winslow had some story time.

Yeah, but even that was basically a springboard to talk about May’s whole broken body multichapter saga. Anyway, I’m not complaining or anything, just noting.

I don’t quite get today’s “Questionable Content” strip

Didn’t get yesterday’s either. Any idea what gives?

I can’t get the site to open for me.

Something weird is going on. You can get to some of the strips directly by changing the number.

I think this is yesterdays:

But I don’t think the one for today is available.
