Why has Marten got that look on his face in the last panel? Is Tai secretly a robot with pointy steel tips?
Below the strip is the author’s note: “You know, like when you are petting a dog and rubbing its belly and then WOOPS found a nipple.” That pretty clearly indicates that Tai has accidentally scraped Marten’s nipple, and the pain from that is reflected in Marten’s face.
It would have been nice if the placement of her hand was somewhere near where you’d expect his nipple to be. Like you, I wondered whose nipple until I saw the note below.

I didn’t see it as a physical reaction. It’s more like Marten is alarmed and embarrassed that a sexually unavailable female is getting overly familiar with/commenting on his bits. Especially after the recent incident of Faye seeing his dong.
I read it as embarassment, not pain. Poor Marten’s life is one of constant humiliation. Except for the fact that all his friends are hot chicks.
