I Guess There Needs To Be A MMP

Having had time to think about it, of course they did. They were just doing their job and you were part of the support staff. I’ll bet you ignored them just as much as they ignored you!

This is one of the magic parts of being retired. You don’t have to rush around on the weekends to do yoru chores, you can do them whenever the mood strikes.

We always enjoy seeing our old critters play. It means they are still happy and feel well enough to expend the energy.

I had to do a work project like that once. Acquire a long handled staple puller and wrap duct tape around it to fit your hand. If there is a possibility of having to do this again, get some of that liquid rubber stuff and dip the handle until it fits your hand right. Do this even if you have to spend your own money, it really made a difference for me.

NICE! I love our free dump days. Of course you will have to do double slothage tomorrow.

Very impressive! Next time you call your work crap, I will send VBC to puke in your shoes.

It took hubs several years to get through the pics he inherited when his folks died. Take as much time as you need.

Today we paid someone to paint our front porch and ramp. They did a very nice job, I’m glad we had it done. Of course that means we are going to be walking in through the back door for a couple of days which will confuse the heck out of GG.

After the painter folks were gone, I helped hubs bottle beer.

All of that productivity just wore us out and hubs will be going to Godfather’s for a pizza in a bit.

Evening all. Went and coached “Goalkeeping 101” to another group of 8-9 year olds boys, keep their attention for more than, oh, say 4 seconds, is a chore but hopefully they will remember some of it, since I am refereeing their game tomorrow at 11am…

Second load of laundry is working (should be done by the time I finish this missive) and after drying I should have shirts and underwear in stock once again. Rest of the stuff can get done tomorrow or Sunday.

Unknown, painting and bottling; an interesting day.

red, enjoy your heathen gathering.

VanGo, nice job!

Sari, hope Ripple is OK from the scratches. And fingers crossed for the neighbors.

FCM, given all the good stuff you do with Roxy to challenge her to think (and have fun while doing it), I’m not surprised at her progress.

OK, need to put the shirts in the dryer and start planning for tomorrow. Take care all.

@JaneDoe42

I had work to do, and gawking at girls young enough to be my grand daughters has a real ew factor. I was surprised that the club owner did not provide them some privacy to get ready for work. It was kind of creepy

So you ignored them even harder than they ignored you!!! I totally get it.

Sunny, it sounds like you and I are in similar boats right now.
Our mortgage guy said we can’t officially get approved until after we’ve picked out all our options and stuff (since we won’t have the final exact price locked down until then), so I think your timing will work out fine.

Sari, pickin’ stuff out will be the fun part. It’s all the money stuff that makes my head hurt.

Up caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. Got to learn Overgoods yesterday. If it falls out of the box, and we can’t match it up, it gets sent to Kansas City. KS for sale, Storage Wars style(Except for body parts. So if your human head falls out of the box, it goes somewhere else).

Nifty. Remind me to hire you to build me an at home bar if I ever win the lottery.(I’ll send the dimensions 2 weeks late, in cubits. )

I’d suggest arson, followed by a visit to that Tiki Bar on Carson street. :tropical_drink:

Well, every Frankenstein needs an Igor, or 6.

Oooo. I love a good homebrew. :beers:

Yeah. I like to daydream in Lowes about a custom house, but the thought of writing checks with 3(or more) zeros after the $ gives me angina.

I got all excited a few days ago about gardening, when it got all warm and sunny, and got seeds ready & obtained a new, big pot and fresh potting soil.

Looked at the weather forecast and my first free day off (today) had SNOW forecast! My hopes and dreams for sweet pea flowers and chives and little pea pods for snacking … all dashed to bits.

… okay, delayed slightly. But still! Because, I just looked out the window into the dawn light, and sure 'nuff, snow on the ground.

What.

My Gentleman Caller has been sick with a sore throat lately, but is hopefully on the mend. I have no selfish interest at all in his recuperation, nope, no sirree, none at all.

Meanwhile, I have a work … thing this morning (a party-type meeting, team building, games and prizes … including a gift certificate to a tattoo parlor, because the guy putting this together does at least know his target audience quite well.)
Then I can commence chillage for the remainder of the da- oops, nope, got a ton of things on the ol’ To-Do List.

So of course I’m up at stupid o’clock!

Most assuredly! You do nice work!

BTW, Sunny, feel free to tell me it’s none of my business, but it seems like your family moves a lot! I thought FCD and I were extreme with 5 different addresses in our first 7 years of marriage, but you leave us in the dust! Do you get bored that fast?

I hated that part when we had our house built. Mainly because I can’t visualize how everything will look together, between styles and colors and textures… aaaarrrrrgh!!! We built twice, and after the first time, I said “Never again!” but I lost that battle. However, there was no debate when we were shopping for this place. Thank goodness.

That explains what happened to the heat exchanger FCD ordered lo these many years ago, and maybe how we ended up with two heavy-duty jacks instead.

Today will start with indoor chores - specifically the floors. I’ve neglected them far too long, plus there were the couple of hork spots that I only hand-cleaned. I’ll pull out the carpet steamer. In fact, I think I may even move the couch out so I can suck up all the spare Ziva hair that has no doubt been accumulating behind. I may even (brace yourselves) dust! It’s looking dreary, cold, and miserable outside - I may pass on yard chores. We shall see.

I do have to clean the basement bathroom and convert it from a failed greenhouse to a proper bathroom since we’ve got a bunch of kids and their parents coming here in 3 weeks for Roxy’s b-day party. Yeah, I’ve got plenty to keep me occupied today. And that’s without going to the boat to do some chores there.

I was up till 1 finishing a stupid book. I knew how it was going to end and it got to where I could hardly focus, but, by golly, I saw it thru. Still, that means I had barely 5 hours of sleep before I was wide awake. And now I’m sneezing like I’m in a ragweed tornado. Not a glorious start to my day.

Happy Saturday anyway.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 43 Amurrkin out and N.O.S. with a predicted high of 63 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. No big plans at all today. After bein’ all productive and adult yestiddy, we must make up for lost sloth time today. OK, I shall do some stuff at the cee-mint pond, but not a lot of stuff and not until the afternoon when 'tis warmer. Any need to feed today will be via forage. There’s chikin sallit, other sammich stuff, etc. so there will be no starvation.

VanGo cool lookin’ stuff there! You do good work.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Morning all. Leaving in about 90 minutes to referee a soccer game at 9:45am…and 11:00am…and 12:15pm…and 1:30pm. If I survive I should be back home around 3pm. Like I said, they are U10 games, so the games are only 50 minutes and the field is only 75’ x 40’, but it’s still some work and they are all boy’s games, which means 14 hyperactive 4th-5th graders. And it’s 42F now and only getting to 60F. Oh joy.

Still, I got my 8 hours sleep, so should be OK. Maybe.

Take care all.

Morning all!

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and fixin’ to do the Sunday chores, plus baking a batch of muffins for tomorrow and packaging up the two albums just completed to take to the post office.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Huh. Now that I see the arrows in place, I like them even better, especially as they tie into the stage as well. I like seeing how everybody makes the magic happen, and your work definitely sets the stage.

Remind me not to order a cocktail at a hotel bar. Looking at the wikipedia page and the hotel bar menu, what I got was close, but not quite. It contained Canadian Club, Martini rosso, Asbach Uralt, 2 kinds of bitters, an orange peel and ice. The bartender had to look at the recipe.

If the cocktail is on the bar menu, I expect the bartender to be able to make it without referring to a recipe.

Otherwise, had a good time.

Hubby has an upset stomach, and there was snow-like stuff this morning, so we’re having a serious sloth.

If I wasn’t having such a sloth, I might go to the store and buy bread and brie, and extra garlic. Sounds really yummy. Plus we have lots of leftovers to get through, so I don’t need to buy even more food. Sheesh.

Maybe I’ll just work on beverages.

Good morning everyone.

It’s currently 36 degrees outside. They are expecting rain/snow showers today. Rah. I want to get some flowers planted, but am not going to do so because we are supposed to have morning temps in the 30s all week. What the heck.

I did a couple of things yesterday and then slothed the rest of the day. I will need to get out and do some things today.

Very nice work, VanGo!

Well, I suppose I should finish my coffee and finish unloading the dishwasher. I want to be done with my errands pretty early in the day because the traffic is stupid around here.

We were shorthanded yesterday, and even more so today(no package car loaders?!?) But it’s the weekend, I got money, and beer in the fridge. No snow here, but there is a Frost Advisory for tomorrow. 3 days after it was 80 degrees out.

Well sometimes we get an empty box, and some stuff together in a tote, and if there’s no invoice to tell if it’s supposed to go together or not, “If it fits, it ships”.

Tried to grow weed? :herb:

Sorta almost. I can assume that neither bitters was Peychad’s :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
I don’t mind bartenders looking up the recipe, as long as they get it right. Unless they have to look up the recipe for an Old Fashioned :grimacing:.

Ayyyyyy, guess what? We had a raffle at work. I won one of the prizes … the only one I really wanted. I’m so f’ing excited.

It’s a gift certificate to a local tattoo place. :smiling_imp: I have one small bit of ink - a stylized black outlined feather - but have wanted for a long time now to get a watercolor-type of a single blue morning glory vine.

YAY YAYYYY YYYAAAYYYYY!!!

Have I told the story of the “Red Ant” beer that my hubby and friends brewed? * shudders *

Ha. Send help. No, really. I am (mostly) not kidding.

Dice Working on beverages sounds like a solid plan.

Shoe The morning glory sounds beautiful. Please share the art.

I’m back from spending time at my mom’s with her dog and my sister’s dog. I’m trying to decide what to eat for food. No ideas yet. I suggested to my daughter that we make banana bread, but I haven’t seen her yet, so?

Happy Saturday!

heh - nope. I wanted to have 'maters and cukes and peppers year round, but obviously, I didn’t. Now I just have a mess.

Did you feel that? The disturbance in The Force? Because I dusted… :scream: That was after cleaning the kitchen floor (OMG, was it gross) and vacuuming, including pulling the couch away from the wall and sucking up a Ziva’s worth of long gray hairs! I had to pull some of it loose by hand as it was entangled in the carpet fibers! What the heck is that cat doing back there???

I also emptied the dishwasher. But I didn’t get any yard work done. Oh well. Now I just have to splice a couple of loops for securing our dock lines when we leave the slip. At least I can do that seated.

Speaking of the IRS - they actually admitted that they screwed up and they owe us some $$! I think it’s only about $25, but it’s a victory over The Man, so I feel vindicated.

OK, time to splice…

Thanks, y’all for the nice words about my stuff.

shoe Congrats on the win! Wanna see pic of the new tat. (Unless it ends up in a place requiring a fainting couch and smelling salts.)

sunny You may have told the story of “red ant beer” but I think it could use a re-telling.

doggio I’d gladly build you a bar. 'Slong as I can have a drink at it. Cubits is perfect, nobody knows what they are, so I can’t be wrong.

Making a pizza tonight. 5 cheeses, pepperoni, sun dried tomatoes, and artichoke hearts. I still haven’t decided if’n it’ll be a thin or thick crust.

As to my eating during this difficult project, I dropped about 15 lbs in the first 2 weeks, gained back about 5 and leveled out there. I am remembering to feed myself.

I’d like it if I could sleep past 6 AM.

Would you like about 10 of mine?

I’ll probably find them on my own after a couple of weeks of not slinging around 75 pound sheets of plywood.
