I Guess There Needs To Be A MMP

Easy to make your own and freeze them. My sister used to make a couple dozen at a time for her husband.

Very cold nights on our immediate horizon, in the 30s every night of next week, with a possibility of snow/rain mix. Hell’s bells, man.

I think tonight’s dinner is pounded chicken, breaded and fried, side of peas. Maybe some rice.

I’ve just realized that this particular ongoing thread could probably just as well be called “Deep Thoughts, by Jack Handy”.

Today’s activities shall include ongoing laundry, litter box cleaning, and ongoing pet sitting.

Happy Sunday all!

It was sloo - oooo - oooowwww at work today (we were hoping for a post-church lunch crowd, but nope!) and I got cut early. Poopy.

That’s what I get for wearing makeup!

Anyway, it’s bright & sunny this afternoon, and warmer than it’s been for a while. I have some pea seeds (sugar snap AND snow AND sweet flowering) soaking in water, and the cats are soaking up the sun.

I may take myself for a walk while the peas have their bath (it aids germination) and get some sunshine myself.

My Gentleman Caller still has a froggy throat, and Og knows I can’t afford - literally and figuratively - to get sick. { whines } But I wanna SEE him, dammit!
Hell, I wanna get my effort’s worth out of today’s makeup. (But not enough to risk getting sick.)
Poopy part two. Hmph.

Why must life be so maddening? { pose of utter woe } WHY?!?

I had an uncontrollable desire for brownies, and I had the ingredients for a recipe I found in one of my books, so there’s a pan in the oven right now. We’ll soon see if they really are the “best brownies” or not. I fear they may be more cake-y than chewy. But chocolate, right?

Back to my book…

I don’t miss them because I can’t find them, I miss them because I can’t eat that sort of thing anymore. But thank you!

Afternoon, mumpers! Those of you who are with me on the book of faces will know what I have been doing amd for the rest of you, we spent a day in San Francisco then got a flight to Portland for an overnight stay. Picked up a rental car and drove to Hood River, stopong off at viewpoints and waterfalls on the way.

We intended to go up to Mt Hood but found the bus eithwr didn’t run at all, or not thay day, and apparently left from a stramge location that didn’t have anything remotely like a bus stop! Got in the car instead and followed the signs until it started snowing and the signs warned about requirements for snow chains and special tyres…L’il Sparky’s rental agreement doesn’t cover that so we had to turn back. What can you do? Day drinking!

Today we left there on our way to Joseph, currently sitting in a cafe in Pendleton having lunch before finishing the drive.

Happy sloth day, those of you who are slothing!

Ah, sorry; missed that bit.

oopsie, glad Bailey’s not really sick.

I’m sorry about your high school friend sari.

shoe, back when I was in food service, the church crowd was dreaded. Yeah, we got hours, but they weren’t well paid hours, as the church crowd in our area gave their money to god, not tipping servers. They also tended to be demanding. Once I began irking in an establishment that served alcohol, the church crowd became much nicer. :stuck_out_tongue:

While visiting with a couple of my fellow heathens during the potluck, we were talking about communion. I told the story of my BIL saying Corpus Christi, Corpus Christi to each dog while giving them bites of fried chicken. One of the guys made the crack about the body of Christ tasting like chicken. Yeah, we’re in the handbasket. :stuck_out_tongue:

I left Nelson off leash to play with Sully next door for a bit whilst I visited with Sully’s dad. In the jammies now and will begin to get ready for bed ~7. This getting up at 0200 crap is getting really old.

Well I did end up leaving the house. A friend has taken over the clubhouse restaurant at a nearby golf course, and he had a “watch the Masters” bbq chicken thing, so I went over to that. And my best friends showed up with their little one who had his first b-day on Friday, so that was nice.

Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated, waved palms, processed as a congregation into the church house, and over did up Palm Sunday right. My two new Acolytes (sisters) did their thing for the first time this mornin’ and did a great job. So proud of them! They are all excited to be a part of next week’s Easter Procession. I also did the clerk thang for the Vestry. I need to get that written up whilst it all still makes sense. I have the handwritin’ of a serial killer and it can confuse even me, and I wrote it all. Nappage got achieved and I cooked the collard greens for tomorrow as they are better cooked the day before and reheated to eat. The biiiiiiiiiig trash can has been hauled all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow. Evenin’ chill ensues.

Sunny the red ant beer story made me LOL. Just the thing I would have done durin’ my misspent youth!

shoe I have been known to worship at the Altar of BBQ.

Taters have fun amongst the great unwashed. I have a preference for fresh foods as much as possible myself.

doggio Remind Alex Catt that if she is really into Holy Week she will have to wash Gordie’s feet on Thursday.

sari so sorry about the loss of your childhood friend.

Oopsie glad Bailey does not appear to be sick.

Jane The Cane I also behave very well for shrimp.

VanGo that sounds like a very nice outin’. Glad you enjoyed yourself and got to chillax with friends.

Had a COVID test this afternoon in antici. PATION of my colonoscopy Wednesday. Visited Ariel, but after the horses came in. After yesterday’s slip ‘n slide I not going into the pasture until all of the mud is dry.

I know you guys think we is pushovers and all, but we do have some rules. Stealing people food is baaaaaad and punishment is swift and terrible. All I have to do is reach for the water bottle and GG suddenly remembers his manners.

And he is SO adorable when he’s restraining himself, you can tell that he really REALLY wants to do something, but he also really REALLY wants to be a good kitty.

Spring is here!!!

I laughed. Hubs looked horrified and I laughed again  Thanks for sharing!

Gasps in shock, how could you possibly be so rude!?! Facts? FACTS?! We don’t need no stinkin FACTS!!!

I know what you mean about it being scary to see how your other half is aging. Hubs’ life has become very small now that his shoulders are so screwed up.

Your dog is lucky she’s not our cat, an emergency vet visit would have happened after about four hours. Dogs like car rides but nobody likes getting their temp taken.

Have the park people said anything to Barky mom? I think you mentioned that they were getting complaints.

Do you know where the black and white cat lives? Is there a shelter that can take him? Homeless cats always make me sad.

Spending time with friends is a good thing, well worth leaving the house on a cold, dreary day.

I’ll bet you are just as cute as GG, but maybe too big to scare with a water bottle!

How do you feel about ham, broccoli and cheese quiche? GG isn’t impressed, but hubs likes it. He doesn’t like the green stuff, but cheese and pig meat improves everything.

Nothing much got accomplished here today. My BFF was going to come over and look at the thread colors, but had to go on motorcycle parts runs instead. I feel very badly for them, their bike had been broke for over a year and they just got it up and running again and now this.

GG has been a cuddle bug which means I couldn’t be productive even if I wanted to.

We have some migrating birds that I’ve not seen before. They are between the size of a hummer and a sparrow with blue heads and tails, a gold chest and white belly. Aggressive little fuck, nobody eats when they are eating, NOBODY!

Cleaned, changed litter, took out trash and recycling. I made meatloaf with mashed potatoes and Aldi Prince Edward Blend(carrots with green and yellow waxed beans) with Mural of Flavor and a dab of butter.

Gordie will nibble on my leg if I skritch his butt just right.
And {{{{sari}}}}

< waves from Catholic section of handbasket >

That’s how she torments him. Boy is weird about his feet.

Yeah, the Mods will move this thing to GQ, then what do we do?

Straighten up and fly right?

That way lies madness!!!

Eff that, I’d hafta stop cursing so damn much and we’d all have to use coasters all the damn time.

I’m curious what these might be.

{ invites self over for leftovers and scritches }

Absolutely beautiful. Thanks for sharing. (They were my runner-up choice for that new tattoo I’m planning.)

… well, yeah!

It’s barely two in the morning and one of my co-worker friendlies is texting me. Ah, insomnia. Be back later, gotta go see what he said.
