I Guess There Needs To Be A MMP

Morning, mumpers! We made it to SF about 2am after flight delays, checked in and went straight to bed! We are staying just outside the city so off for a wander later, been there before so we know a couple of places to go. It’s only a stopover as we are off to Portland tomorrow afternoon!

Nut congrats on the Nibling’s safe arrival! Now you get to have all the fun and very little of the responsibility.

WetOne I am usually up that early to go to campus but it’s not my choice when I am on holiday! Nice to work so close to your appointment though.

That leaves it wide open !

Toby has been returned to his maternal unit, I got my and FCD’s meds at CVS, got diet coke at Food Lion, and got the replacement headlight for SIL’s car. FCD installed it - he wouldn’t let me do it. It was a pain - you had to remove a panel in the wheel well! Anyway, it’s done, plus we made sure all their tires were at pressure.

No supper tonight - we’ll forage if so inclined. So I’m free till 7 tomorrow when I have to leave to take Roxy to school.

FCD heard from the boat yard that messed up our boat’s HVAC - they’re sending someone to service it, at their expense. So yay! And apparently GEICO has processed our claim and a check is on the way. So I need to contact the body shop and arrange to have it repaired. I’ll get my car back! YAY!!

Happy Hump Day!

It’s been a rainy day.
The brats went to daycare, so I didn’t have to hang at the park.

Park drama has gotten worse.
I’ve gone from upset to pissed off. I’m done.
I found out one friend has been lying, using irk as an excuse for not coming when it is really Barky and her sister Humpy who are the real reason. For some reason, Humpy likes this particular dog and won’t leave him alone, and Barky/Humpy mom doesn’t do anything to stop it.

Mom drama isn’t that bad really.
I got annoyed because I called her to relay a message from one of her cousins (the cousin is younger than I am and is part of my generation so we communicate more), and a half hour later I still couldn’t get a word in to tell her. Then she tells me stuff that is just TMI. You can tell me you are constipated; I do not need to know the details. Please… I DO NOT NEED DETAILS. On any body functions, and she needs to share them all.
More though I am upset with her that she is going on the Hallelujah Diet. While she is an adult and can make her own choices, I think it is a bad idea and that she should not believe that this diet can cure cancer. I suppose it won’t hurt her, except her doctors want her to gain weight and build up her strength, and that is not likely on this diet.
The diet is supposed to be based on the Bible, so you would think fish and lamb would be okay.

The lawn guy fixed my attic window and didn’t charge me for it. He had to put in four screws.
My son swears it was duct tape holding the window in. He said there is shredded tape around the frame, I find that hard to believe as I can’t imagine anybody doing that, and even if they did, I doubt it would hold for seven years.
I’m not going up to look though. With no railing around the top and nothing to hold onto, it makes me too nervous.

congrats auntie nut

good to see you again wiki, flytrap, midget, and ow

i hope you mom is doing well talky

sorry for what you are going through ooopsie
i get that way sometimes

sorry about phoenix ow

i probably forgot somebody
yall have been very busy

Howdy Y’all! We procured comestibles and then as I stated earlier settled in for some serious sloth. We had an early sup of leftovers. Shortly I shall get myself ready (must don appropriate attire for the Bishop) and head on over to the church house. We shall meet to discuss any last minute stuff for tonight and to firm up Holy Week (next week) and Easter stuff as well. OYKW has decided to go on his own a little later as he does not wish to just sit around for an hour or so before the service. Can’t say as I blame him.

I won’t check in again, so y’all behave this evenin’. Or as close it as you can get.

Bad, doggio, bad!

BooFae welcome to the Bay Area! I wave in your general direction. :wave:t3:

Moomm :confetti_ball: :tada: It sounds like you got lots of good news today.

Sari I’m sorry the park drama continues, and that mom is partaking in mystical cures. I understand how it happens. Cancer is very scary and people want miracles. I just hope she also follows science. Sending you patience and strength.

Nut Happy Auntie Day!

I’m tired. We have a call with the bank at 4:30. I think I’ll grab a quick nap before then.

Happy Tuesday all.

One of the girls I work with needs a ride after close … turns out she’s going to another mutual friend/co-worker so we’re all gonna hang out.

This was just what I needed - casual, friendly chilling.

Well, I’ll be dipped. Everything has its own wiki page these days.
Looks like I’m not the only one wondering about the name - it’s specifically explained in the article:

The name Spearmint Rhino is not a codename for illicit behaviour or reference to illegal substances of any kind; the company simply required a noticeable, memorable and catchy name

That sounds like fun! Get lotsa pictures - I bet you get some cute selfies.

I’ll definitely see about posting some pics, ratty & shoe.

It has been an eventful day in overlyland, one that ended with the entire left side of my face numb (I had to have a crown re-glued and they numbed me up). So I’m hungry and cranky and just coming down from the nerves - my dentist when I was little told me I was lying when I said he hadn’t give me enough Novocain - we since found I’m one of the lucky people that requires enough to tranquilize a horse for local anesthesia to work. Anyway, I tried some water earlier to see if I could manage to eat something without chewing my tongue but I drooled a lot, so guess I’ll wait.

All right! Swampy is off being holy so we can all run amok and commence to sinning!!

Moooooom, then again, your SIL may still be playing basketball until he has to make the switch to wheelchair ball. :stuck_out_tongue: My Uncle Ron had his first knee surgery after a basketball injury in his forties. Lather, rinse, repeat (and repeat and repeat) to his total knee replacement after a game injury after his 70th birthday. He still gets out on the court, but isn’t nearly as competitive as he once was.

Yay for the nibling nut!

sari, I’m sorry for the park drama. Most of us had to pretty much give the cold shoulder to one guy who only came to use his dogs to try to pick up women (and he was pretty creepy about it). Once he finally got a girlfriend (not from the park), he quit coming, but she was like Barky’s mom, an oversharer, not to mention the ill behaved pooches (both his and her tribe). It pretty much took most of us with small dogs going to the big dog side whenever she was there.

It rained hard today. By the time I got home, there were just sprinkles. Nelson got to meet a new neighbor pup across the fence. Kinzo is a year old white scotty and a terrier all the way. He and Nelson faced off through the fence, but both tails were wagging. I told Kinzo’s dad where the dog park was (they just moved in from out of state). We’ll likely see them there on the weekends.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Got my money from GEICO - now I have to call the body shop and arrange to get my car over there. I couldn’t start it yesterday - totally dead battery. I’m wondering if some of the damage included a wire that shorted out to the body. Anyway, I’ll take care of that tomorrow.

I’m over the worst of my cold - nary a nose drip today, and just a few dry coughs. So huzzah! Almost back to my normal self - for certain definitions of normal…

Glad you’re feeling better, FCM.

I’m having last night’s leftovers for dinner, plus fresh bread, plus a vanilla yogurt, plus more queso.
It is so good to have an appetite again.

I’m excited about all the seeds I have and want to start peas and rainbow Swiss chard as soon as possible. Oh, sweet peas, too - I love the flowers.

A truly irksome day at the shop. The client’s minions never showed up. Even after several calls to the client, who kept assuring me that they were packing up at one place and would be on the way to mine shortly, I ended up spending 8 hours waiting. That is 8 billable hours.

Then I get home and go looking for my amazon package, oh looky there in the mailbox, an amazon package. But instead of socks, which I do need, is a hat. A hat I maaaybe would wear? But it’s red, and red doesn’t really work on me.

Got my swimmin’ and sauna done, then did my walkabout the park and watched the kids play soccer. So have an appetite for some dinner, will start the BLT’s in a couple of minutes.

FCM, hope you can get the car into the shop tomorrow. Glad you’re feeling better–for the time being, with the kids around you never know…and nice to know the Yard is owning up to the problems.

talkie, I had one trip to the dentist without novocaine—I was seven and have never done that again. But I guess it has it’s limits. Hope you’re feeling better.

Sari, sounds like the park may be rather deserted for Barky and Humpy–hope that hits their owned with a clue stick. And Moms…fad diets are the bane of the earth, and I hope at least this one doesn’t hurt your Mom.

swampy, happy Bishop day.

Boofae, at least San Francisco-Portland is a somewhat shorter flight than your others (still about 2 hours, longer than I thought). Take care.

VanGo, hope minions made it and got the stuff.

Wheelie, probably will take an hour because of all the ‘other’ stuff they will want to discuss with you…

OK, hungry now and the ingredients are awaiting me. All y’all have a good night.

The door guy came today and replaced the sweeps on the French doors. Really only one job left to have done, and that can’t happen until the furniture is all gone.

Scrubbed the area carpet in the LR, then lugged the heavy fucker out to the front porch to dry. This is about a 7’x7’ rug we bought in Africa, but it is extremely dense and extremely heavy. My hand grip strength is not nearly what it used to be because of arthritis and slothful behavior, so it damn near killed me this time around. I’d rather sell it than own it at this point. The wife started to point out a tear in the refrigerator seal and I finally told her to stop looking for problems, cuz I’m not paying to fix another goddamned thing.

I’m one of those people too. Found out the very hard way during my first root canal. That turned out so badly I had to have treatment for dental PTSD before I could go back to finish treatment.

It never fails that I tell doctors and surgeons this and they smile condescendingly and pat my hand. Twice since then I’ve woken up during a procedure, alert and talking and the surgeon is panicking and yelling “get her back under!”. I try to tell them…

Up from nappage. I’m having a Manhattan, and Goridie is gnawing on one of his towels. Italian Chicken with orzo tonight.

Me too. Filing are bad enough, but I once had a skin biopsy on my head. Ow.

< puts gimp suit back on monkey >

The best kind.

sari, sorry about the park drama, and Mom’s fad diet.

I have this issue with Versed. Most people don’t remember what happens under Versed. I do. I’m awake, Whatever they’re doing hurts, and I remember it. I try to tell them and :person_shrugging:t3:

Seriously, anyone able to check on @swampbear? Weather reports have a lot of tornado activity already today and expected later in the Bryan County, GA, area. Dunno if that’s near da cave, so not sure how worried I should be.

< puts gimp suit back on monkey >

Snerk.

No minions today. Theoretically they’re coming in the morning. They gotta do it soon, since the event is in 3 days.
