Howdy Y’all! The rain started around three this afternoon and was torrential for about four hours. We have flood warnin’s in effect for runoff and such. Right now the rain has stopped but it will be back in the early mornin’ hours and continue all day tomorrow. Thus, outside of makin’ and eatin’ sup, it’s been a day of sloth and uselessness. Tomorrow, ick weather or not, I must be useful as the Bishop is comin’, so I must go Verge and stuff over to the church house.
Shades you are right. The meat was perfectly freezable. But, hey, you got a beastloaf out of it so I’d call that a win. I like beastloaf. Especially my own.
{{{OW}}} I am so sorry about Phoenix. FCB should start with the clinginess. I can’t stand that in a person. Plus the bankruptcy was a major dumb move. Glad GC has gotten smoochy. I like smoochy. I hope it works out so you can retire. Retirement is da bomb! I love bein’ a sloth and retired drain on society. Dinner before your nine o’clock show. Most anybody else, I’d say you want to eat before your teevee program comes on, but since it’s you, you could very well be performin’ a nine o’ clock show somewhere, like at Waffle House.
{{{Oopsie}}} enjoy the time off. Hope it does make you feel a little better. I’m glad you have the support group and are goin’ to a meetin’. Also, my ,02 here, therapy is always a good thing when stuff is happenin’.
MG the mods here are mostly nice. I am sure any one of 'em would be glad to answer your question.
shoe yay for the good sleep. Also, yay on scorin’ free queso. Queso is good. Free queso is even gooder!
MOOOOOOM glad SIL came through the surgery well. Here’s hopin’ he heals soonest.
BooFae hope all goes well the rest of the flight. Enjoy San Fran.
OW, I can remember nights like that, trying to work through a problem. Hope it works out.
Cookie, I’m pretty cautious with my money, in that I don’t spend wildly, but if I can cover it (like next year’s Antarctica trip), I’m going for it. My brother and Sis-in-law are retired and comfortable and their three kids are working and doing fine, so who am I saving it for? Just wait until I buy my geezer car in 2024-25!!!
shoe, glad the cake was as good as it looks. My current crave now is Honey Graham crackers, I may have to banish them from the house the way I’m digging into them.
OK, got both my walk at the park and my 1/2 marathon bike riding in this evening, then soup-n-sammiched the evening meal, so tired and stuffed; should sleep well tonight.
Oh, got a side activity–I can’t coach youth soccer this spring since I’ll be on a cruise the first half of May and it wouldn’t be fair to the kids, but I offered to do my “Goalkeeping 101” training for the 10U and have 5-6 teams that I’ll be going out and teaching in the next week or so…keeps my hand in the game. And refereeing on Saturdays.
Darn, getting close to 10Pm here–catch you all tomorrow.
Less of the impending- she arrived last night local time, a few hours before you posted that. Not sharing babby pics because, well, not my babby. Assume relatively typical newborn; appropriate bits on very small scale. Kinda cute.
It’s really tough for me to make the transition from “Save for retirement” to “I’m retired - this is what I was saving for!!” Of course, the boat is helping with that a lot. Plus I set up an account to help cover the grands’ college.
So, a miniature Winston Churchill?? Congrats to all on new babby! They’re so much fun!
It rained on and off all night and I kept waking, but luckily, I’d fall right back to sleep. The pseudoephedrine did a great job drying my nose drips - I think I’m on the recovery end of this cold. We might actually see a little sun today, tho T-storms are threatened for tomorrow.
I’ll be leaving shortly to help get Roxy ready for school, then deliver her there before bringing her brother back here. SIL should be up and about later today - he was told to chill for 24 hours. He’s had so many issues with his knee, I hope he takes this seriously, does his therapy, and quits acting like a teenager - he always seems to do the damage on the basketball court.
It’s raining, it’s pouring,
The kitty cats are purring …
Indeed! It’s a big cup full of it. The manager deemed it too small of an amount to be worth packaging to keep overnight, so it otherwise would’ve been tossed anyway.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 67 Amurrkin out and foggy with a predicted high of 81 and rain/tstorms/apocalypse for the day. We shall procure provisions this mornin’. We don’t need much so there’s that. The other big item on the agenda is dealin’ with the Bishop’s visit over to the church house this evenin’. There will be a six o’ clock Eucharist with Confirmations followed by a reception. Truth be told, with the ick weather in store, I’d rather not, but I must so I shall. Some sloth, nappage, and general uselessness will be figured in as well.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.
It’s 32 degrees with an expected high of 61 and partly cloudy skies. This mornings’ temps are why I still haven’t put stuff in the ground or my planters.
As usual, there is nothing exciting going on. Too much work; not enough time, constant change to which I need to adapt, etc. I am tired, though.
My husband has taken to getting up when I do which interferes with my “gear up for the day” time. I like having a bit of time to myself, and now it’s gone. He’s also noisy. Sigh.
I have read, but not retained so I am sending appropriate yays, congrats, boos and hugs. Take care!
boofae, I’m exhausted just reading your post. Makes my upcoming 8 hour flight to London look like child’s play. I was up at 5 o’clock IN THE A.M. for a 6:30 MRI of my foot. Fortunately I irk down the hall from imaging so was at my desk within minutes of finishing with a stop at the caff for 2 eggs over medium and 2 slices o’ bacon. I brought my coffee from home.
Yum. That sounds good, but I gotta run to work. Oh, and over easy for me, please.
I’m taking two of those buttery storebought croissants with me instead - I’ll warm them up on the griddle when there’s a quiet moment.
Also taking a couple slices of American cheese, for a grilled chz sandwich. 'Tis a rainy day, and will likely be slow enough that I can fix myself a snack.
(Good thing my cross-stitch hoop is small and portable, and can chill in my purse for if it really gets slow.)
{{{oopsie}}} I would second and/or third the notion of getting a therapist regardless of how you’re doing Friday. Even just to have some neutral third party on standby.
Today is yuck and grey, but hoping it’ll get sunny or at least not rainy later so I can waddle. Mom has her chemo today so I’ll be stopping by after to make sure she’s comfortable, but will need to head to the dentist first. Nothing like having a crown pop out during lunch. I seriously thought one of my teeth was falling out.
I’m running a color run this weekend with overlygirl. We signed up in 2020 but it was deferred thanks to COVID. I’m getting kind of excited. I don’t love getting up early and having to be somewhere, then having someone yell, “Run, varmint!,” but the thought of running through a chute and having someone chuck powdered dye at me so it stains all my skin and clothing rainbow colors sounds curiously compelling. Guess I’d better bring some towels to sit on for the ride home.
Morning all. Paper rescued and pills taken, so will break fast here shortly. Rain is expected for the afternoon, so hope to get my swimmin’ in before the rains come. Nothing much else on the schedule today, may work up the ambition to clean my bathrooms (did clean the terlets yesterday). So quiet day.
talky, I’m no runner (more of a plodder), but that color run sounds like fun. Any chance of pictures from it?
shoe, not sure if Spearmint Rhino is a pun, but it does have it’s own Wikipedia page…Spearmint Rhino - Wikipedia
Yeah, my niece and nephews are done with college–but if they ever get busy and make me a grand-uncle, we’ll see…
TGIW!!
The combination on nice weather and kids on Spring Break has made for a very busy week at the zoo, and I’m tarred. One more day to slog through and I can be lazy for a couple days.
Though we do have a call with the mortgage company scheduled for tomorrow morning. They say it will take at least an hour. I don’t know why; they already have all of our financial information and credit history; I guess they need to make sure we have nice voices too?
