It began in Great Debates (as most SDMB nightmares do). I had just started a new thread – a veryserious discussion about Edward Snowden – when I noticed that one of the words in my OP was misspelled. The mistake? I had typed “borad” instead of “board.” Editing proved impossible, and the thread began to take on a life of its own, picking up speed while it careened down the page with the single-minded ferocity of a freight train. At first I was happy to see so many people responding, but their oblique and abrupt answers to my long and thoughtful OP were confusing to me. Something wasn’t right.
And then it hit me: each reply, one after the other after the other, included a single misspelled word, just like my “borad.”
Hah! Apparently witty message board responses are what my subconscious fears most right now. Maybe I’ve been spending too much time on this godforsaken website.
Mods: Please remove the SDMB from my dreams and back to reality. Having nightmares about it makes me feel lame.
I’m not making fun of you but I cannot contain myself any longer and I have to tell you this: EVERY SINGLE TIME I see a post by you - I get hungry for french toast and maple syrup.
Hey, I Made French Toast For You, when are you going to respond to that thread? You know, the one you started in Great Debates back in April, where you posted that OP about the Nature of Reality and the Meaning of Life and all that complex Higher Mathematics. Everyone’s been posting replies–the thread’s pages and pages long now–and we’re all waiting for you to respond.
