Isn’t it against the law to hire someone using religious preference as a determining factor?
Hence why they use “moral character” preference. :dubious:
Same thing as when the Republican candidates pander to the “values groups” which are really “brimstone and hellfire” voting blocs. It’s not undue influence of the church on the state, it’s just “values voters” demanding to have their candidates bend over and lube up for “family values”, since you can’t argue against “the family” any more than you can argue against “moral character”.
In one corner, we have the Red Sox. To add to the loathing I feel for the team, it turns out that Guiliani will be rooting for the Red Sox. Guiliani, a supposed Yankee fan! It’s not like he was going to get my vote, but now more than ever before I want to see him run under a truck.
In the other corner, we have the Rockies, who it turns out believe Christian ‘values’ make one a better person, an attitude which has been disproven time and time again, and which I despise.
Good thing the baseball season ended October 8 and the World Series was cancelled once the Yankees were eliminated.
26/100… 1/3rd… 26/100… 1/3rd…
Let’s just pretend Coca Cola runs the Rockies. Would that really be any different?
Are you saying Jesus Christ can’t manage a ball club?
He’d better, because he can’t play for shit. Terrible fielder. You’d think he had holes in his hands.
He can still make a mean break for second when it’s raining though.
You know, I thought I did a pit thread about this last year when it first came out, but I can’t find it.
Old news, but that doesn’t invalidate the OP.
I still hope they win, but they’ll do it without me spending any money on tickets or paraphernalia, I probably won’t even watch the games.
And he’s kind of a showboat too. How about the way he points to himself whenever someone else hits a homerun.
26 to 74 is how I was measuring it. Get it?
“We could never have made it as far as we have this season without God’s help, because really, we all pretty much suck at this game.”
In fairness, he’s a team player, always willing to sacrifice when it’s needed.
Anyone else also jump on Tony Dungy for this sort of thing?
And why didn’t DtC jump on Kitna a while back? Bad enough that he believes in God, but he plays for the Lions.
How many times do I have to say that my issue is not players or coaches believing in God? It’s a front office institutionalizing it on a team and then going around saying how morally superior they are because of it.
3-0 Sox in the 1st. Ha!
4-1 Red Sox going into the bottom of the third.
HA!
Anybody know why Joe Buck is babbling on about Richard Dreyfuss being in the back yard?
Also, I wonder if the Rockies know that Kevin Youkilis is Jewish. What can it mean that God let him score?
I was paying attention the whole time and don’t know what the hell he was talking about. Those two make me wish I knew Spanish so I could use the SAP option. Who exactly thinks they deserve to be on the air at all, let alone doing the Series? Probably the same people who keep giving John Madden the best NFL gigs. And we get it Joe, its fucking raining.
HA!
Seven strikeouts in four innings for Josh Beckett!
HA!
McCarver got his tongue stuck up Derek Jeter’s ass somehow, “Who [Tulowitzki] would really like to be compared to is number 2, Derek Jeter.”
