I just found out that techchick68 did Wally's banner

I want to thank techchick68 for creating the beautiful and moving banner that we have to honor WallyM7. I hope that lots of you will join me?

Scotti

I agree techchick did a wonderful job. I even sent her an e-mail expressing such.
There is already a thread about her banner. Alas, it was moved to the pit due to… well go read it and see.

Osip

way to go techchick!

techchick, I think it kicks ass! As for any critisism you got over a 28k .gif, fuck 'em. I think most of the people here really appreciate your work. Amy obviously did, and what more could you ask for?

::raises his labbatt’s::

Here, here!

[sub]Yeah, I know, Wally drank Molson, but it is Canadian[/sub]

Yeah, Techie, it’s effing gorgeous. Thanks.

Thank you, techie, it is wonderfully made. I enjoy seeing it everywhere on here. Great idea, Scotti, to thank her for this labor of love.

C’mon, friends, maybe I should have come up with a catchier title for this post, but techchick put alot of work into something that meant a great deal to all of us.

Let’s give her the thanks she deserves, please?

Scotti

It’s awesome!!!

Thanks Techchick!!!

Thank you for you appreciation of the banner, I appreciate your acknowledgement.

I can’t remember who started the whole process, but I think it was sdimbert in the chat room. Many of the chat roomies were willing to put up money for the banner but The Reader agreed to donate space. So thank those that are chat room people and The Chicago Reader, I simply created what I thought would be appropriate.

I received an email from an admin about it and replied I would get back with the answer.

After thinking about it, I decided what the heck, I will jump on the ball and take The Reader up on the offer and hope that my creation is simple yet classy enough for our Wally.

I hope that it is a happy (while knowing it’s sad) tribute to our lost friend. We all know that the SD will never be the same with out our Wally.

Wally is the one to be thanking really, he was a tremendous addition to this board. As sad as it is, he was the inspiration for the banner. His family should be in our thoughts as well.

So I hope that when you see the banner you think of cyber sex, nurses, cops and strippers oh and gerbils of course…well okay Wally’s hilarious posts and stories. Don’t forget the awesome ability to flame a person yet the flamee hardly knew it if it weren’t for the Putz comments.

Don’t think of his passing (as hard as it is) but what a great contributor he was to our boards. He was one of a kind and there will never be another poster that can fill his shoes.

If there is one thing I have learned over the years, remember the good times and know that our friend is in a better place. We all pass through here and our stay is not permanent. We are guests on Earth. It’s an extended vacation that sometimes is cut short for whatever reason. We suffer more than the deceased because we have physically lost the soul but the soul remains in our hearts.

So if nothing else I hope that we remember that the man touched our hearts and changed us forever. He is not gone but gone from us physically. Remember, he remains in our hearts and memories.

It is not important who came up with the idea, techchick. You “made it so” and we are extremely grateful that you made your expertise available to memorialize Wally.

We owe you our thanks, and please do not take to heart any naysayers. You did a wonderful job and we are thankful.

Scotti

It is an absolutely beautiful tribute to a man who deserved nothing less.

Thank you, techchick, from the bottom of my heart.

I agree. It’s beautiful, Techie.

It’s a quality piece of work from a quality person, techchick. Every time I see that banner I think how thrilled and moved Wally would have been. It speaks volumes about you a person that even stressed out, grieved and then nitpicked for doing it, you still focus on why you did it.

Wally would have been so proud. And you should be too, techchick.

techchick, I thought it was absolutely beautiful and a wonderful tribute to Wally. As a totally non-tech type chick myself, I am in awe of your talent. Thank you so much, it is so good to know that there are people like you in the world.

Technically sound (No problems on MY PC), and artistically elegant: The banner rocks!

Thank you Techie!

Scotticher don’t feel too bad if you don’t get a big response on this thread, the original thread for it started in ATMB and several people responded there. It’s just trying to keep the same topic out of several forums so the mods don’t get caught in the middle.

Techie is an awesome person, she does awesome work. WE all appreciate it.
