Even more fun is that Chinese are brilliant enough to provide all this evidence pointing toward their illegal animal trade and distract from their true purpose. That’s including evidence of much closer viral relatives in other parts of Southeast Asia (they planted that evidence in Laos).
Meanwhile, not only are they too stupid keep their bioweapon under wraps, they make a shitty bioweapon that preferentially kills older people and those with comorbidities. Wait a minute! That’s it! They were creating a weapon to cull the herd. Unfortunately, it was killing too many younger people, so they shut down the country until they had a vaccine. BUT they made sure that full vaccination, especially booster uptake, was low in the elderly. Then they opened everything right up!!
Not once but twice in a period of 5 hrs did he wish a mentally ill person kill themselves.
Would he have said the same thing if they had cardiac issues or diabetes? What he did was awful, but he was hearing voices & had been committed to a mental institution for a couple of weeks this summer; someone f’ed up because he shouldn’t have had guns after that.
19 people are dead because he had an illness. it should have been zero, not one, asshole!
Sorry but he’s right. If he killed all those people because those voices told him to, it would have been better for everyone if he just killed himself first.
A few news sources say Card was involuntarily committed to a mental health facility for a couple weeks over the summer. When a person is involuntarily committed, what (if anything) happens to their guns? Is there a court order that any guns must be confiscated?
And 99% of the time, just as in this case, or the case of the Sandy Hook shooter, or thousands of others, the answer is going to be “nothing”.
And the 1% of the time that the answer is “not permitted to own guns”, this being the USA he’d have to borrow or steal the guns from his brother, cousin, uncle, friends, or – this being the USA where I imagine even dogs have semi-automatic assault rifles – trade his dog a biscuit for the dog’s AR-15.
Not to imply that the US has any sort of gun problem.
It’s been suggested that a post directed at Magiver properly belongs here, which makes sense.
What irritates me here are the arrogance and dismissive unwillingness to do even the most perfunctory research in case their callous views might be proven wrong
Actaully I see some improvement on Magiver’s part in that post. He actually admitted that his original wording is incorrect. Usually his MO is to never admit a mistake and instead come up with increasingly far fetched claims to try to bolster his original claim (e.g. parachuting motor cycles, or that an umbrella is a more dangerous weapon than a car.)
In this case I would have expected him to claim that it is impossible for hot coffee to accidentally spill out of a McDonalds cup and so the damage woman and others like her suffered must be self inflicted, devolving into further claims that the heat of the coffee vapor locks the cup so can can’t poor out, followed by claims that thermoses have to be specially designed to prevent this.
It did sound as if he was implying that it was self-inflicted, but there were obviously none of the other parts you mentioned. I guess that’s progress…
For the record, I don’t even go 85 on roads with a posted speed limit of 85. I can just feel the gas guzzling from my car’s veins. Anything above 75 is vicarious agony to me.
How someone could manage to do that on even the straightest and widest of residential avenues is beyond me.
