To all of you having rain, I’d take that over the sleety snow we had. Doesn’t even cover the grass but it’s so very slick. I watched church on the livestream we have because I was too much of a wuss to drive this morning.I won’t poke my nose out again until Mauser has to be walked a second time. I think that last night and this morning he learned he gets to go back inside as soon as he does what he needs to do.
Sorry I missed your birthday, Cupcakes.
Sunny, Wifey has been a realtor for over 40 years, so I know a few people in that profession. Some are pushy, some are not. If yours annoys you, push back. It’s your house and your life. Tell her we said so.
It’s ~20f outside now, heading for ~28f, or maybe 31f. We’ll see.

Later.
Packing Day! I’m telling myself my sister has a washer and dryer, but I have gifts to pack for two birthdays and a little boy who likes presents (my great-nephew). Also, the number of meds I’m on practically requires a suitcase of their own. And my sister has very short hair and so no hair appliances. Oh, and since I’ll be staying in the hospital with her overnight, I need to pack a little duffle bag.
It’s kind of misting outside. I should get the trash out before it starts raining harder. It’s already very slick out there, and a little rain is only going to make it slicker. Tonight comes the deluge.
I am PRAYING none of my flights get canceled. My sister’s surgery isn’t until Wednesday, but it’s apt to be very early in the morning, and it’s a two-hour drive to the hospital, so I’d rather not get in Tuesday evening
Happy Birthday to OYKW! I always feel it’s not an official birthday without cake, but I can see how having his favorite couple over was a sweet treat.
BooFae, sorry the concert got cancelled. What a let-down.
Dice, have a safe trip home! FCM, have a safe trip tomorrow! Hope the snow doesn’t interfere with either journey.
Cupcake, tell the Realtor if she ever hopes to show the house, she needs to stick to your timetable.
nut, glad the test was negative.
Red, fingers crossed that the car issue is a minor–and inexpensive–one.

{{{{wordy}}} in case you read this.
But I bet only one of you has scooped.
It was 43º earlier this morning (up to 45º now), and the snow is melting remarkably quickly. I sure like these temperatures better than the 8º last week and the teens following it. I decided to take the Prius to the corner market. It took me three attempts to get it rolling on the ice upon which it was sitting, to back it out into our un-plowed road. I went the back way to the market, using engine braking on the snow. A main road was clear. On the way home, I went up the beach. That road was also clear. I got to our street, which has a fairly steep hill. Again, the street had not been plowed. It was a struggle getting to the top, and I wondered if I’d have to back down and go back the way I came. But I did make it to the top.
I’ll volunteer. I’ll use my night nurse voice
Trash and recycling are out. Only slipped once.
Home again with my own car. I helped my mom do some stuff with her new computer - she’s a user, but setting up shortcuts is beyond her. I set up links to her email and her preferred weather page, and I put Teamviewer on, just in case.
We’ll be leaving about 5 tomorrow morning - right about when the snow is supposed to start. We’re threatened with 4-8" now, pretty much snowing all day. I don’t know if I’ll be allowed to stay at the hospital or not. So tomorrow’s up in the air.
Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated, had leftover N.O,L. and achieved nappage. Also, an executive decision has been made to not attend the Epiphany party tonight. The weather is ICK out, with hyuuuuge rains and there is a tornado watch until nine p.m. Plus we’ve had two severe tstorm warnin’s in the past hour and a half. Enough reasons right there to stay inside and dry. I’ll even wait ‘til mornin’ to haul the biiiiiiiiig trash can all the way down to the road for pickup. It ain’t like I don’t get up early enough to do so, after all,
Thanks everyone for the BDay wishes for OYKW, He got innundated with ‘em this mornin’ at church which made him immensely happy. He had not been much of a church goer until I showed up, but he likes it there. Of course, he can go or not go as he wishes. I don’t push that. Oh, and since we are now the same age I don’t get called a cradle robber until my bday when I will once again be his elder. Stinker!
Everyone travelin’, be safe!
Butters tell the realtor to back off and stay there until you say so. Some folks just need a really firm NO repeated as often as needed.
The girl that came to help is one of my former employees. She showed up with iced coffee and a danish. Turns out she has worked for a moving company before and actually enjoys packing stuff. Thank God for help as it motivates me to do stuff. She can’t come back until the 5th but then I hope to be photo ready at least. We ran out of packing tape so I sent her for more with a list of sandwich making stuff. Hey, two birds…
Ok. Back at it and Laundry can kiss my ass. I am almost to the point of throwing it away rather than laundry. Will read more later.
Butters - your realtor sounds like she’s more interested in her commission than her customer. That sucks. We’ve had two sucky realtors and several really great ones. Sometimes it’s a crapshoot. Hope you get yours under control!
I was aiting on hold with Consumer Cellular to get FCD’s phone transferred. It’s been an adventure since they, like so many others, are understaffed. This is the third attempt at getting this done. I gave up and we’ll try again after he gets out of the hospital.
I also left a review of our hotel. I had spilled some water on the floor, and when I wiped it up, the towel came up almost black! Too gross for words. Criminy, all they need to do is give housekeeping staff a swiffer or two. We won’t stay there again.
Almost time to feed Higgs. Speaking of whom - I figured out where the other dog was getting into our yard and I know what I need to do to patch the hole in the fence. Wish I could do it today, but it’s too icky out. Later this week, I hope.
butters, your realtor sounds like she’s not too interested in what you can and cannot do. Glad you found good help for packing up.
Yikes Moooooooom! While I won’t be staying at the same motel that I did this trip again, it was at least clean (they didn’t stock tissues, not enough towels, the bed was too high and no grass to walk Nelson). Hope everything goes well for FCD tomorrow.
Years ago, my then 15 year old niece (she’s 41 now!
) and I decided that if there was a physical such place as hell, it would be 40F and raining during a trip up north for Thanksgiving. Today is that kind of hell in my neck of the woods and likely metal mouse and magic’s.
I took the car out for a short test drive to pick up a Greek salad for supper with no check engine light and only one hiccup at a stop light. Still, I’ll call the dealership tomorrow. It’s still under the bumper-to-bumper warranty, so it shouldn’t cost me. I’m thinking an O2 sensor is going kablooey. My last S10 had the same issue at about the same mileage and the one before at ~50K, so I have had a bit of experience with the symptoms.
Butters, sorry about the realty issue. I was lucky whne buying this place and then selling my own, used the same person. And when my sister and I start in on selling my mother’s house we plan to use her again. I guess I got lucky.
Popping in as I take a brain-clearing break. I was all organized and up to speed this morning, so I felt calm and unfrazzled about trip prep. Then family stuff hit. It’s too long to go into, but it required too long phone calls. Then the friend who’s watering what remains of my plants and getting my mail called to say she’s coming to get the key. Then she called to say EEEK! The roads! So now she’s coming in the early a.m., when hopefully the roads will be better.
We were supposed to get rain today, then heavy rain tonight, but it only misted for a short time, so it’s behind schedule. I do NOT want heavy rains tomorrow. Between potential cancellations and weather crud, this trip is starting to seem like an obstacle course. I shall prevail!
Butters, sounds like your helper is worth her weight in gold.
Remind me to stay on your good side. ![]()
Have a safe trip to your sister’s nellie. I hope that all goes well for her.
See y’all tomorrow!
Thanks everyone. I feel like great progress was made. I kept out the very bare minimum of kitchen stuff and have a large pile of boxes that I’ll get the neighbor boy to help move downstairs tomorrow. I washed the cabinets and drawers as we went plus had a sammich. Time now for more Lilyhammer. If you haven’t seen that one it’s great. Gotta put on the subtitles due to Norwegian being spoken a lot but a great distraction. It’s on Netflix.
I am tahred and the girl, Erin, just called to say she will be back tomorrow morning vice the 5th which should make it possible to get the photos done. Maybe.
Safe travels Nellie and prayers sister does well and still thinking about wordy. I saw the video your sister posted moommmm of your Mother having a grand old time and dancing up a storm. I hope I’m that spry at her age. Heck I’m not that spry now. Also best wishes for a successful surgery for FCD. Is this the same one he already had done or the other one?
Happy Birthday to OYKW

Butters, tell Realtor to back off. And please eat. {{{{hugs}}}}
Safe travels, nellie.
Howdy Y’all! It continues to be an icky, rainy, stormy(ish) night in Jawja. So glad we decided to stay inside and dry.
Nellie have a safe and uneventful trip. Hope sis’s surgery goes well.
MOOOOOOM hope FCD’s surgery goes well also. Glad you found the spot where the neighbor dog is gettin’ in to terrorize Higgs.
Butters yay for a good packin’ assistant. Sounds like you’re gettin’ a handle on things now.
I think shortly it shall be time to go night night. See y’all tomorrow!
“We can do this the easy way, or the HARD way!”
Evening all. Almost went of to bed without my nightly MMP.
Yesterday it hit 74F here. Tonight I just looked out the door and there is a blanket of snow on the ground. Not a lot, just enough to cover the grass, but there is snow in Ali-bama. Hopefully it’ll leave tomorrow, because facing Alabama drivers in the snow is not for the timid (I learned to drive in Northern Ohio, so snow is no stranger to me).
Longhorn fed me well and I spent several hours watching tackleball games, then did some reading…so not a particularly productive day–and I’m ok with that. Did make my weekly list up so do have some chores on that for next week.
Nellie, safe travels. Flights should be OK.
Butters, I know she wants to get the house sold (commissions, commissions, commissions), but she needs to back off and go with your schedule. Stick to your guns and hope you get to doing better.
FCM, safe travels tomorrow.
OK, now I’m ready for bed. All y’all take care and I’ll catch you on the next MMP.
