Huzzah!
Evening all. Except for bringing in the garbage can post-pickup, it has been a inside day of sloth for yours truly. BLT’s and a banana made up dinner and almost finished with my re-read of a book so I can read the sequel starting tomorrow. Might even do something constructive on Firday…or not.
shoe, learning and trying out a new skill helps keep us young, IMHO. Congrats.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 70 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 83 with rain off and on all day. I don’t like it when it’s this warm this time of year. This could foreshadow stuff like a tornado or straight line wind if’n it gets stormy. I shall betake myself over to the church house to deal with some church janitor JW stuff (three more weeks and I am free!) and some other stuff ahead of Sunday’s service. We have a sub Priest who actually use to be our Priest until he retired. Also, I shall prep some stuff for tomorrow’s NYD feast and make up some goodies to munch on this evenin’. JDD and Partner are comin’ over to hang and stay the night cause we may get a little tipsy. Then they’ll hang around and feast with us tomorrow. Just the four of us it will be. We haven’t had a really good silly time together for almost two years so I am lookin’ forward to this.
Now i need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, alack, and bother, I suppose I must needs purtify and don appropriate bein’ amongst the public attire. Woe is me!

It was a restless night, but I finally snatched about two hours of sleep between 3:30 and 5:30.
It’s about 24 degrees out and will remain cold until Saturday or Sunday when the melt is supposed to start occurring. We got another inch or two of snow yesterday too.
I’m sorry about your mom’s cancer returning, talky.
No plans other than working on my jigsaw puzzle and seeing what’s new on Netflix.

Really hoping for torrential rain tonight to keep the fireworks idiots from terrorizing my cat. For some stupid reason, Washington’s governor allowed temporary opening of fireworks sales, and since we’re on the border people drive over there to buy them, even though the big bang stuff is illegal in OR.
@flyboy, where do you live? I thought you lived in LA CA. Winter strom warning for tomorrow. Up to 8 inches of snow then temps going into the high teens. This is no. Illinois. Bring on winter! And I know I misspelt storm. I used to know a jerk whose last name was strom so I deliberately misspell the word.
OK. We’re home. I’ll catch up later. Right now, I need to wind down. Then I need to vacuum the various bits of Roxy detritus from Mom’s car. We were going to have the pros clean it, but they’re closed today because of the weather. Dammit. So FCD is going to run the outside thru a quickie wash to de-crud it and I’ll do my best with the inside. Because I’m nice, dammit.
I’m also exhausted. So once that’s done, I’m done for the day. We’ll have grilled cheese for supper…

Evenin’ all, how’s the wild party prep going?
I am actually headed out later to a house party- a group of students who basically all work and/or live in the same house, and we’re all testing before we go, so it’s not much of a plague risk. I’m driving, and several of 'em don’t drink, and we’re all on the older side for students, so it’s not going to be too much of a crazy one either.

Happy New Year’s eve all. I’m not doing anything. My sister tested positive for the virus last Monday, so’s I’m isolating til I can get a test next monday. Frankly, I kinda like having an excuse to not go out tonight. The last 2 times I went out on new years I got in various kinds of trouble, one became an unhealthy relationship and the other was trouble with the truck.
It’s the only reasonable thing to do if one finds oneself down there.
We’re all sitting around looking at various computing devices and watching the birds outside the windows, in the snow.
We’re staying here until after new years is well over. Funny thing, the people around here don’t seem to go in for fireworks and such at holidays. We like that.
I just read that Betty White died. 
It’s the end of an era.

Mom’s car is lots cleaner than it was when we got it from her. I’ll take it back on Sunday. And I get to tell her that she owes us for 4 new tires. Happy New Year… 
FCD is going to sell his Harley, which makes sense. He hasn’t ridden it in almost 3 years. He’s got to figure out one little wiring issue, then he’ll list it. Personally, I’ll be glad to see it go. I don’t like motorcycles. At all.
I was going to do some laundry, but it’ll have to wait. I just can’t deal with it yet. I just need to chill.

watching a Disney movie “Encanto” with Harriet while her parents are out shopping for a diamond anniversary band for their tenth anniversary. The baby went with them.
I’ll head home before my dinner-probably be wild and crazy and pick up drive through for roomie’s and my festive NYE dinner. Will have to research what is open. Popeye’s for her sake, I hope. She got a phone call firing her yesterday-two days before her company was to be turned over to an even bigger company. Considered surplus I suppose. Last hired….first fired. Not a happy new year for her. Maybe some red beans and rice will help. Will try to get Mac and cheese for good measure.
Dang it. At least she has a roof over her head and someone who is glad to have her around. Everything else can be fixed.
