What a joy it is to sleep in one’s own bed an awake sans backache!! I’m pretty sure I was unconscious before 10 and I didn’t wake till 5:30-ish. Best sleep in some time, so yay! It was raining last night and this isn’t a big fireworks area anyway - I didn’t hear a thing all evening.
I’ve tended to the critters and I’m caffeinating. FCD is still sleeping, and I’m pretty sure he wants to have breakfast out - guess I won’t be feeding my face for a bit. Speaking of which, I was afraid to step on the scale this morning, but it wasn’t nearly as horrific as I’d feared. I have allowed about 20# to creep back in the last 4 months or so, but new year, new routine, right? Well that’s the plan - healthier cooking and less delivery, plus more activity. Tobias will certainly be responsible for part of that.
And the new year begins with a new property assessment - the county finally figured the shop building into our taxes - no big surprise there. I would love to get a market value assessment, but we have no intention of selling so I don’t want to waste a realtor’s time, and I certainly don’t want to pay someone to do it. Guess I’ll never know…
Today’s plans: first, a trek to the boat to get the info FCD wants - he’s trying to figure out how to network all the communication, navigation, and safety electronics together. They’re all Raymarine products and they’re designed to work together, but the previous owner didn’t mess with that. While he’s recuperating, my sweetie hopes to integrate everything in the pilothouse and link it all to the flying bridge (does that sound yacht-y or what???
) It appears the main problem is figuring the age of all the electronics and determining how to make them work together. I understand the concept, but I don’t care enough to learnt he details…
Once we get back, I’ve got a metric buttload of laundry to get done - well, 3 loads anyway. Then tomorrow, I’m getting out of here fairly early to return Mom’s Mazda5, and retrieve my Sonata. That’s at least 5 hours of driving today and almost as much tomorrow. blech. So tired of interstates!!!
Then Moanday is Right Knee Day, assuming COVID doesn’t bloom so badly in this county that they cancel him. Fingers crossed!
Happy Sunday, Happy New Year, and here’s hoping 2022 treats us less horribly than its recent predecessors!
