I sleep in my underwear - a survey (TMI?)

No argument from me.

I’ve never been really comfortable sleeping in the buff. That really only happens when, well, the wife wears me out to the point where sleep becomes the only priority. And I’ll usually end up slipping the boxers back on in the middle of the night anyway.

But I agree with all of those who eschew clothing but still want sheets/blankets. I feel oddly vunerable sleeping without any kind of cover on me.

I sleep in pajamas year round or boxers and a t-shirt. I just can’t sleep in the nude. Literally. I also must have some kind of cover on me.

Nekkid. I could stand to wear a tiny bit more, but the feel of sheets against skin is so soothing.

If I’m somewhere I absolutely must be covered, I wear a tank top and underwear, with sweatpants/pajama bottoms on until I slide into bed–I can wear a top and undies comfortably while I sleep, but pants get tangled around my legs and make me miserable.

I’m living with my family at the moment, and earthquakes have an annoying tendency to happen in the early morning, so I wear clothes to bed. In nice weather like this, generally a tank top and boxers. In colder weather, given my completely non-airtight crappy '70s louvred north-facing windows, thick flannel pants and a long flannel nightshirt.

When I’m at The Girlfriend’s place, it all depends on whether her roommate is home.

When I was still in the north, during summer just underwear and during the winter I wore a thick cotten old fashioned nightshirt. (yes I’m a guy. yes, it resembled a nightgown -as one of my roommates comented once- no, I was not embarrassed.)

Now that I’m in the south, I sleep naked.

Mrs Stone in the north used to wear sweats, shirt, and socks during the summer. And sweats, longjohns, shirt, turtleneck, and wool socks during the winter. she was always cold

Now that we’re in the south, she sleeps naked.

I like it down here!

Naked, or panties. If it’s very cold I might wear pyjama bottoms, but that’s unusual.

I have no likelihood of ever sleeping with a top on…my sweetie likes boobies too much!

I do own pyjamas but they are for wearing around the house when I get home from work. I would also wear pyjamas when staying as a guest in someone else’s home so that I have something to wear if I need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night or if I want to eat brekkie before I shower, and because I know some people don’t like the idea of their guests sleeping naked.

The only thing I wear in bed, usually, is a cat.

Typically boxer shorts and an undershirt. In the wintertime I often wear full-length flannel jammie bottoms with the ubiquitous undershirt and occasionally my polarfleece footed jammies if it’s cold enough (I am in the SoCal, true, but I have no central HVAC).

Like others have mentioned, I also must have at least a sheet on me as I sleep even in August. Oftentimes also blankets; since I’ve got no central air I get rather acclimatized to the weather; 72 is too bloody cold for sleeping in the summertime (to me, anyway).

I sometimes also wear a bra to bed. Keeps things, er, nice and neat.

How can you comfortably sleep in a bra?
I’m quite busty, and the idea seems sensible, but I found it incredibly uncomfortable. Underwires are not designed to be laid upon.

I can sleep in anything. I am just as comfortable sleeping nude as I would be if I fell asleep fully clothed.

But, most of the time, I am somewhere between T-shirt & Underwear and Naked.

Naked when by myself, like at school, but boxers at home.

Soft cup. That’s what my mom wears to bed when she sleeps in a bra. I haven’t enough to bother myself, but it seems reasonable.

 The bra comes off the second I get home.

Arctic parka, Thinsulate overboots, and harpoon.

You must live in fear of the day that your fiance is sitting in the living room with his new boss…

 I…don’t even know what to say.

Er well I don’t sleep on my stomach. It’s more to keep things manageable as I sleep on my side.

Ethilrist, isn’t this like the second time in two days you’ve zinged me? Methinks I should watch out for you!

Well, as long as you don’t hit the boss in the face with the bra as you fling it off, I see little difficulty there.

Note: not actual advice. Not responsible for job loss or embarrassment incurred as a result of doing anything I’ve said.

Shorts (not boxers, actual shorts), underwear, t-shirt. I don’t move around a lot when I sleep, so I rarely, if ever, get entangled. I wear this almost year-round and have done so for as long as I can remember. The house I grew up in did not have central air, so bundling up in the winter was a must.

If it’s really cold, I’ll substitute sweatpants for the shorts and will possibly wear socks. I like being toasty warm.

I’ve tried sleeping in the nude, but it’s very uncomfortable.
