Awwww, pink, good can mean so many things :evilchucklesmiley:
pink, be comforted! I hope whoever got me sends something really weird! That’s what I like!! [sup]hint, hint[/sup]
Weird is good!
weird. That’s the word.
Nope, not weird. And sorry Kat, didn’t get you.
It’s been sent, though, far-far-away. It should take a couple of weeks to get there.
Just wanted my fellow Dopers to know that there’s no slacking off around Castell Zappo! As of 8:30 AM this morning a package full of albino pachyderms has been entrusted to uniformed representatives of the United States Government for transport and delivery to its intended recipient.
The stuff I sent isn’t quite useless, but it’s not really practical either. I had a lot of fun wading through the stuff in the basement to pick out cra. . .er, interesting items to send.
We oughta do this more often!
Yer pal,
Zappo

Yep, no procrastination, but plenty of brain farts. Sorry for the double post.

Well, my package is on its way! It’s kind of nice actaully, never been opened, got it at a X-mas gift exchange andit just isn’t me. As the name of the recipient sounds male, I hope he can explain to his sisters/mother/GF/wife why he is getting an overtly cutesy…hehehehe. Sent it parcel post, hope its’ there early next week.
Sent my little parcel on its merry way… unfortunately, we had a yard sale not too long ago, and some of the more interesting items were sold. Still, I found a couple of things I hope my victim will enjoy…
Did I say *victim???
Mine should be sent out tomorrow. Mr. Jeannie is going to mail it for me. And no, don’t blame him for the lateness. I’ve just been a little lazy the last couple of days.
I guess I’ve done this wrong
I thought the object was to get rid o’ stuff you didn’t want, which I did.
Reading the other doper’s posts, I feel like I should have gone to a garage sale and bought an electric nose-picker or something.
Ah well. Useless, brand-new, and very northern. All sent by Air-Mail to far-far away.
I was out of the office over a long weekend, and there was my victim’s name waiting when I got back. Wheee!!
Ginger, don’t despair. I haven’t yet selected my item to send - not because I don’t have anything nice and new, but because I’m trying to select the most godawful, perplexing, but still-too-useful-to-discard item. Something that will make the recipient scratch their head, and mutter “what the hell?”, while wondering what kind of deranged person actually paid good money for the thing(s).
Betcha all hope I didn’t get you.
[sub]::snorting and cackling::[/sub]
basement cleanup is scheduled for sat. or next tuesday. so it may take a bit but something will arrive at … place.
I don’t know if I should send something nice, but not useful to me/taking up space that I would never otherwise get rid of and thus would take up space forever…or something that I have no problem getting rid of… sighs
Would anyone be terribly mad if I send something that I’ve wanted to throw against the wall since about 15 minutes after I got it but figured that it might be useful though dreadfully annoying someday? This might get there late but I don’t know if I’ll feel guilty sending it. What do all of you say?
Kitty
Send it, FPK, send it!!
He he! I love this!!
OK, folks, stop fretting about what you’re gonna send - it’s a white elephant! It’s FUN!! It’s a way to get rid of something you no longer want or need!
FWIW, I sent some little things that have been unused for a long time/forever - things that didn’t sell at my yard sale.
Now lighten up and don’t make me get stern again!!
Yes, it doesn’t matter what you send. It might be godawful or it might be just fine but something you don’t use anymore. It might be something still in the box, or something very well loved.
At a garage sale last year, I found (and IMMEDIATELY purchased) a bowling pin that had been sawed in half, encased in acrylic, and turned into a cribbage board. That thing was hideous and I am sure they nearly fainted in shock that someone paid money to take it off their hands. But I have a friend who loves cribbage and loves bowling, newly engaged, and it was the best, kitschiest wedding gift imaginable.
Which is too bad, because it would have made a delightful White Elephant candidate. Except, of course, one is not supposed to go buy somehing, but rather send something lying aorund thing own house. What I did send is something significantly less ugly and obnoxious.
Bwahahahaha
Sent off my package today. Mailed it book rate, because I’m a cheap bastard and, hey, some of it was books. Somebody should be recieving a very colourful box, chock full o’ crap, in 7-10 days.
I mailed my package this morning. I don’t know if I’m allowed to say who the recipient is, so let’s just say it’s on it’s way to Canada.
Cranky, the bowling pin/cribbage board sounds great! I have some family members that love both games. I’ll have to look for one of those, or maybe make one.
My item is packed and ready to go, and I should be mailing it out tomorrow. Hee hee!
[sub]OK, it will go out tomorrow providing I don’t slack all day. I’m really, really going to try to go to the Post Office. I promise.[/sub]
