I will make or redo your avatar

There’s a problem with jagged edges on that image, especially on a white background, because the original image has gray shading around the edges.

Try these.

White background:

Transparent background:

Those look great. :star_struck:

I would like a picture of Verminthrax that looks good as an avatar. I’ve tried before, but have never got anything decent, I think it needs the background taking off.

Maybe?

Easy to do on this site:

Beautiful, thanks!

I’m up for it, give me some ideas.

How about some version of the impossible triangle?

Three arrows?

Interesting ideas, The impossible triangle represents my personality a little better maybe, Those arrows are reminding me a little of Escher’s fish, maybe something can be done with that.

Is it possible/easy to remove my background, then make the mustard bottle a smidge larger?

mmm

Do you have a higher resolution image, perhaps?

Spoons, I’m happy to follow your advice and leave it as is. Oops, looks like Dr.Crap made me something (just saw this now). I guess I’ll have a choice! Thanks all.

ETA: I’ll probably go with the solid red for now. (Might not change it right away as I have a bunch of chores to attend to before heading out this morning, but soon.)

Cool! thanks. How are you all embedding images in posts?

Thanks Dr.Crap, I am now using the red one!

Thank @GreenWyvern for that one.

Oopsie, @GreenWyvern, thank you!

Hmm, It’s exactly what I asked for, but I have mixed feelings, now that I see it. The lighter parts of the puzzle may stand out better against the background of my rug.

I’ll use it for a few days and see how I feel about it.

You have to link to an image on another site.

You can upload an image to any online image service and link it.

I’m using imgbb.com. It’s good, simple and free, and it offers various types of links. The ‘direct link’ will let you embed the full size image. If you want to embed smaller sizes you will have to edit the links it gives.

You can always see what other people have done by replying to their post and quoting it, then cancelling the reply.

Am now sporting a new avatar courtesy of @Dr.Crap.
Thank you!
