From what I heard on the radio today, he is leaving the band for “physical reasons”. According to Metallica’s reps, the official reason being given is that he is leaving because he is basically just wore out from all the touring they do. But who knows. The real reasons could be anything. Maybe he doesn’t get along with the rest of the band. Maybe he is addicted to drugs and/or alcohol and is leaving to get sober. Or maybe he is just sick of all of the bullshit and wants to retire or form his own band or something.
and maybe… just maybe… he found jesus, and will be taking over for Creed’s wayward drummer.
