If it's Tuesday, it must be DALLAS!

And now you know why I always ask for detailed directions when we meet.

beatle, do any of the places Troy suggested sound good to you? Brian (sorry Chef) also suggested Macaroni Grill near the Tollway and Loop 12.

I swear that I’m going to eventually show up at one of these Dallas Doper gatherings, but unfortunately I won’t be able to on Tuesday.

However, I have to second Chef’s suggestion of Celebration. I’ve never been to the Dallas location, but I used to go to the Fort Worth one pretty regularly. Alas, that one has closed. :frowning:

I highly recommend the pot roast - a mound of juicy roast served with homemade horseradish sauce. Yummy!

beatle - yep, your deep in the middle of Las Colinas and just a few blocks away. In fact, I bet you could walk to the Indian food buffet that I go to regularly.

There’s a “wild game” restaurant (Tenaya’s, I think) near here that I haven’t tried but sounds like it could be fun. Have you tried it, Chef? My office just moved to this area and I don’t know where the good restaurants are yet, so if you have a better idea, please tell me.

Grace, Celebration sounds fine as long as we can all find it. What time?

Zyada, why don’t you call me at the number I gave you on Wednesday morning if we don’t firm up a plan this evening? Sounds like Cheffie’s in the neighborhood.

Still recruitin’ for either occasion…

How about meeting around 6:30? I get off at 5:30 so that should give me enough time to get down that way. Plus that’ll give some of the other ones time to come by if they can. I’ll have my cell phone with me, so if any of you think you might be able to show up later, call me and see if we’re still there.

Fro some reason, I thought this was for next tuesday. I can go for sure. Can somebody post a map of the location, though? I like the visual.

Ag, Here’s a map.

I think I’ll be able to make. Is 6:30 the set time?

Jim

All right! We have a plan; it’s 6:30 P.M. tomorrow, November 7th, at:

Celebration
4503 West Lovers Lane
(Between Inwood Road & Lemmon Avenue)
Dallas, TX 75209
(214) 358-0612
(214) 904-1716 (FAX)

Looking forward to it!

Woo Hoo!! Okay then. I have my map all printed out and I’ll be seeing y’all tomorrow.

Tenaya is just around the corner from my office, but I’ve never eaten there…it’s too steep for my normal lunch budget. It’s supposed to be good, though. If you folks want to give it a go, I’m…sigh I’m game. I can adjust my weekly budget to accomodate one expensive meal.

groan

Is it a little dear? Maybe we should hunt down a cheaper place? Preferably one not to (ahem) boaring?

Ouch! Quit throwing things!
beatle - have a boring flight

Ooook! Man, I love flydays. I think all the normal humans are snoozing right now.

Anyway…Z-dear, since we don’t as yet have a firm plan, suffice to say I’m game as well. Why don’t you maintain contact with Cheffie and give me a ring at Mustang Wednesday AM? Best pre-coffee game plan I can think of right now. Cheerio.

I’m not going to quit throwing things so you’d better duck, you goose. And shouldn’t you have said “Is it a little deer?”

Just down the road at 114 and O’Connor, there is a Bennigan’s, a Frijole’s (mexican food, obviously…not bad), and a Chili’s.

I want to thank our Dallas contingent for responding excellently to a late request.

Grace and Aglarond came and met me for dinner at (the recommended) Celebration on Tuesday night and it was a good chow-down, with much digital imagery malarkey (Ag, I know I told you I was just going to ignore the play-by-play and read about it in the papers, but I wound up staying up until 3:00 watching it on the tube - I’m beat (but not so is our guy)).

And Z-babe and Cheffie came and had lunch with me today! Whoo hoo!

Anyway, thanks to all of you for gettin’ with me. I hope your weekend w/rjk and the crawfish pies goes well.

DALLAS DOES DOPERS!!!

Hmmm…, we need a poster named Debbie…

Good morning! It was great having dinner with beatle and Aglarond the other night. I’m not going to give the minutes of what we discussed (that’s Balance’s job and he didn’t come) but I would like to say it was an enjoyable evening. I took a few pictures and will add them to Zyada’s photo album once I remember what I did with the directions.

Guess I should throw in my take of the night. Naaah. I don’t really feel like it. We had a great time on the weirdest political night of my lifetime. Chef, celebration was an excellent suggestion. I had the cajun fried catfish and then they brought me out more. That made me happy. It’s definitely a place we should keep in mind for future meetings. All in all, it was a good night and I look forward to doing it again.
