If Trump Really Is Hitler...

Super Hitler Trump* is already in the process of setting up internment camps. George Takei said so.
*I learned from this board that Bush was Hitler and since Trump is worse he must be Super Hitler.

It does matter, since the point is that Hitler’s top adversaries didn’t come from Germany. If Trump is the new Hitler, and the pattern is going to repeat itself, it would be leaders outside the U.S. border who’d lead the charge against him.

What would FDR and Churchill and the rest have done if Hitler hadn’t invaded any other countries, but just rounded up people and et cetera domestically?

The OP dismisses opposition to Trump as a bunch of effeminate aesthetes, but weren’t you conservatives complaining just last month how Black Lives Matter had made cops too scared to do their jobs anymore? And those scary black people were just rioting and destroying things? What about those scary bad hombre Mexicans, sneaking over the border and raping and murdering white women?

How are the cops supposed to do their jobs enforcing law and order when the scary minorities won’t let them?

Next to nothing, probably.

God god, do you really believe he said that?

He said FDR was head of state in another country to Hitler.

Ok once more for the hard of understanding:

The OP asks who will stand up to trump the way Churchill and FDR did to Hitler.

Larry Borgia correctly points out that they were heads of state from other countries than Hitler.

So by analogy it would be heads of state from other countries than Trump.

The Weimar Constitution had been in place for only 14 years when Hitler came to power and had been opposed by a vast array of political forces including the Nazis, reactionary monarchists, and Communists which served to severely undermine its legitimacy. By contrast the US Constitution has been in place for 229 years now and virtually all mainstream politicians (imperfectly and somewhat insincerely) praise and respect it. The situations are not even remotely comparable.

During the Bush 2 years, Canadian blogger liked to ask liberals, “If Bush is Hitler, why aren’t you a lampshade yet?”

In a few years, we may have to dust that line off and ask it about Trump.

I don’t think the failure in understanding is mine. Hitler was not head of state in the U.S. Trump will soon be.

I’m not even taking this seriously. A more apt comparison to Trump would be Lex Luthor.

Mijin is exactly right. In the analogy, Germany = the US. Hitler = Trump, so FDR’s equivalent should be from a country that is NOT the US. Churchill, of course, could have an equivalent in the UK (or elsewhere), since the UK was not part of the Hitler/Trump hypothetical.

The fate of most people who rebel against government is to die. There are actually few examples to the contrary. Successful rebellions are generally not by mobs against functioning governments.

As I said, I’m not even taking the comparison to Hitler seriously.

Plenty of people didn’t become lampshades in Nazi Germany. And the ones that did, well, they couldn’t very well answer that question, could they?

You don’t have to take it seriously to understand that Larry Borgia wasn’t saying that FDR wasn’t the president of the United States.

Thank you. I did not think it would be that hard to figure out.

Trump is Lex Luthor! The signs are all there. Billionaire magnate. Doesn’t like aliens. Wake up, sheeple!

Eddie Izzard covered that in one of his history lessons:

if brexit was a rejection of “globalism”, why are the Brexiters want access to that “Single Market”?

They have nothing against “globalism” as long as it is a one-way transfer “our stuff out, global money in”.

I still am not certain if the folks saying “Brexit means we keep the good stuff and lose the bad stuff” were serious or deliberate sardonic.

The Trumpers desire to retreat to Fortress America is horribly conflated with “and then all those jobs we remember from our golden childhoods will return”.
Half of those jobs are gone - robots took them. The jobs which remain require a bit more than “put four bolts on the thingy as it passes”.

Your Real American (white, male) neighbor is still not going to pay “whatever we want to charge” for a piece of crap car like you made in 1956.
They now know that a TV can be had for $150 and that TV comes from
Asia, not Chicago.

This is simply another case of “Can’t put genie back in bottle”.

Nonsense. Lex Luthor is a successful businessman. And he actually gave money to charity.
