If you had to eat at one of these fast food places for the rest of your life, which would it be?

That’s when you back off and order a grilled cheese or the veggie burger.

Jury is still out on how bad sodium is for you, however.

I’d rather starve. The only one of those near me is Five Guys, and after being there once the only way I’d go back is if you dragged me, kicking and screaming.

I hate Five Guys, so I pick Whataburger since it has a more varied menu and it’s close.

Of course. But 5 GRAMS a day? That’s more than double the upper limit, and even more than most of us already eat.

My tongue is shriveling like a salted slug just thinking about it.

I’ve had In’N’Out, and I agree with BeeGee on my opinion of their burgers. Whataburger is far superior. Being a Texan as well, that was my choice. I’m quite lucky, and frequently get to dine at the original location

Only one I’ve tried is Whataburger when I was in Texas. I thought their burgers were ‘meh’, but they did have a really tasty chicken sandwich. None of the choices have a location anywhere near me, so count me in with kunilou. This former Hoosier wants her Steak n Shake! We do have one SnS here now, although at about 15 miles away, I don’t get there as much as I’d like.

I’ve never eaten at any of those places.

The OP reminds me of a Calvin Trillin vision of hell, where he is doomed to eat at the most fantastic Chinese restaurant ever. The catch is that he is in the company of a group of football players who will order for the table, and he is not permitted to express a preference. Waiters are carrying trays of exotic mouthwatering food to other tables, but the football players (after briefly considering chop suey) opt for fried chicken.

The only one I’ve eaten at is Five Guys. Which I like well enough, but not every day.

It’s possible I’ve had ice cream at a Shake Shack, but no food:

I once saw an in and Out Burger but didn’t go in (or out). Don’t think I’ve ever seen a Whatsburger and don’t think I’ve ever heard of a Fatburger. They certainly don’t exist anywhere near where I live.

In the spirit of the poll I’d take Culver’s. They’re actually not close to me either but they are common in my travels to see relatives, and they are very very good.

The only one near me is Five Guys, and I’d rather go to Culvers. Especially when walleye’s in season.

Of the ones listed, I’ve only tried In-N-Out and Fatburger, and Fatburger wins without a doubt. It’s actually one of the better burgers I’ve had.

When it comes to In-N-Out, I might be in the minority, but it’s just about the worst burger place I’ve ever tried. There are dozens of burger places, and hundreds (thousands?) of other restaurants that I would rather go to.

Love Smashburger! They’d be a write-in for me. They seem to be going strong in my area. Five Guys is pretty greasy (but the only one in the poll in my area, so I guess they win?)

The Tommie’s (L.A.) has a great chili burger…how come they never went national?

They had issues with franchising, and others simply copying them and calling it Tammies or Toms or something.,

The closest In’n’Out Burger and Whataburger are over 2000 miles away. The closest Fatburger is 400 miles away, and the closest Shake Shack around 50-60 miles.

There’s a Five Guys here in town, and another one around six miles away. Thatbeing the only one of the five I’ve ever eaten at, I’ll go with them.
It seems they’ve opened a Smashburger just down the road from where I work. I’ll have to give them a try.

Just found out that Shake Shack is coming to the Mall of America.

Heck, I remember when Wendy’s had a salad bar, and that would be a major deciding factor if it was one of the choices.

I don’t think I’ve ever been to any of the given options.

Of the options given, Five Guys. But if I had to pick just one fast-food place, it’d probably be Arby’s.

Don’t you judge me!

God will do that for us. Blech!

5 guys is in my city but I’ve never eaten there.

I’d have a difficult time surviving on a burger only diet. I easily get tired of them and would struggle keeping an appetite. I guess hunger would force me to eat a few bites.

I eat a burger a week and thats plenty.
