I don’t like the name Forbin, but when I joined I didn’t know that I could have that screenname. I had been around computers just long enough to know that they didn’t like two files/same name. Since I used Umberto on another board, I didn’t figure I could use it again.
Boy that was dumb.
P.S. The other board stinks on ice. It got way off topic a long time ago, and never got back. I rarely even lurk there now. I much prefer SDMB, and wish I had the SN I liked here.

Well, considering that my username is usually taken, I have a lot of practice choosing alternatives.
Right now, if I were signing up here for the first time, some of the frontrunners would be Aelliana, Ryasha and Lady Death. The first two are characters from novels.

I am dead0man everywhere. Its unique so I never have to worry about someone else taking it before me. If I try to use it somewhere and it says its taken, I assume it was me many moons ago so I try all my assorted passwords until one ussually works. There was that time I tried to start up a Delta Force clan and I was dead0manwtf on a board or 2. That, thankfully, only lasted a couple of weeks. In the only chat room I frequent I am dead0man or something with “punk” in it. I went with punk when I was single because the ladies dont talk to guys named dead0man for some reason. I’m currently “dead0punk” and “punkatwork” in the chat room right now.

I’m one of the two most other places I go online - mostly Beanzilla, but I wasn’t using it at the time I registered here. I’ve considered changing, but haven’t been motivated to.
I’ve used Prester John once or twice before. It’s my probably second choice, though I can think of a thousand possibilities.
