What would happen if the GA protects him/herself every night until he/she’s the only townsperson left alive (assuming the townies don’t lynch him/her)? Wouldn’t the town be guaranteed to win?

No, the town would lose when there’s more wolves than townies. Which is perfectly possible under that scenario.
WOW, there was no good reason for MtS to claim like that. If he is the GA he has just killed himself. The only way I can see that having been a good choice is if he is actually a wolf. The other masons REALLY need to claim right now or the town is sunk.
I also think that **Captain Carrot ** and **Unfinished Symphony ** should be replaced at this point. For whatever reason they aren’t really playing the game, and that is clearly becoming a problem.
Looks like this game is wrapping up. I think that there is one day, maybe 2 left after this one, what do you all think? Also, I am VERY excited about the next one. Have we gotten official approval from TPTB to play again?
Except he was clearly headed for a lynching. If he is the GA, and he’s lynched, that’s a real waste, because the Seer is going down and the town will lose the GA and the Seer consecutively. At least now (if he’s believed), he gets to play chicken with the wolves “tonight,” and at least he or the Seer (and, who knows?, maybe both) get to survive to play another day.
I’d say they should skip lynching Mad for tonight. Have the remaining Masons declare; that should narrow the pool a bit more. I’m not sure you should waste a use of the Seer’s power on checking out Mad, though; if Mad is still alive in the morning, and there’s been no use of the GA power, then Mad is almost certainly lying.
So, will the next game be identical to this one, or will there be twists?
I think I’m selling off my berth in werewolf II… it’s been kinda fun to watch, but I’m not sure I could actually take being in the middle of this kinduv melodrama
I know, but it seem that there were some other options open to him before he just came out and claimed. Maybe I am just used to asking for a concensus opinion from the town before a claim, but that one seemed like he just gave up. If he is the GA it doesn’t seem like that was the best way to play that. But it’s easier to make judgements in this thread than it is when you are actually playing, I suppose.
There’s a good Willy Wonka quote that applies here. “The suspense is terrible. I hope it lasts.”
How interesting. It’s actually from Oscar Wilde.
Either dnooman has been reading this thread, or great minds truely do think alike.
I believe the town loses when there are as many wolves as townies.
So one wolf can still win, if the last two townies guess wrong.
Ouch! Cookies got crumbled. Another loss for us.
Seems to be a problem with the common consensus in the thread. They seem to think that they’ll know whether MtS is a wolf come morning. What if they wake up tomorrow and the seer has been eaten and MtS claims that he protected himself. The town will have no idea if he’s telling the truth.
Edit… On second thought, that would mean the real GA fell asleep at the wheel. Scratch the above.
I’ve got a lot of reading to do it seems. It is at least 5 pages of somewhat entertaining content…right y’all?
Sorry, no reps or warranties as to entertainment value. But welcome, anyway!
Awfully quiet over there. I like to think of them as being stunned into silence by their grief and despair at my passing.
Yes, it’s when the amount of wolves = the amount of pro-townies that they win.
As for the Princess Bride references, “WIFOM” is a pretty common expression used in games over at mafiascum.net to describe this type of logical conundrum. (Wine In Front Of Me). I don’t know if that was mentioned before in this thread, but I am too lazy and hungry to look it up right now.
Werewolves would be smart to eat OAOW tonight, rather then try and out-guess the gaurdian angel. They are getting close to a mass-mason-claim, and the fewer masons, the better.
The GA would be smart to protect the Seer, as one more investigation is worth more then his life in the game right now.
The Seer would be smart to deduce who the other masons are based on voting behavior, to increase his odds of hitting a wolf.
I told the other werewolves to eat sturmhauke a loooong time ago, when I was still alive and howling. I knew there was something up with him. I wish I’d pushed it harder. I also think I know the truth about who the GA is… be interesting to see if I’m right. Ah, should have tried harder not to get lynched.
Go Team Werewolf, munch townie ass!
What, you don’t believe your false-claiming wolf brother is actually the GA?
dnooman has been on my radar for a while, but his actions “today” (game day) just scream wolf to me. He was leading the charge against the seer (sturmhauke), and then when a couple people started questioning his motives, he quieted down.
Next, MadTheSwine claims GA. Does dnooman lead the charge against THAT claim? No, he proposes that sturmhauke investigate MadTheSwine. He now believes sturmhauke? I thought he thought sturmhauke was a wolf? Meanwhile, let’s lynch cookies!
I believe in absense of seer or GA claims, they should be believed. I think dnooman is a wolf who first tried to get the seer lynched, and is now proposing that the seer waste an investigation on MadTheSwine instead of more worthy targets. I’m curious if sturmhauke will fall for it, and I’m surprised dnooman hasn’t garnered more suspicion in the game itself.
The only thing that makes me not sure that he’s a wolf was his role in the rubystreak lynch. Early in that day there had been some mutterings from various townspeople about her “lynch the lurkers” strategy, and dnooman got in on that in one or two posts. Later it gained steam with sturmhauke leading the charge, and dnooman cast the 4th vote on her, but after she had become the focus of that day.
This is all pure speculation on my part. I’m curious to see what tomorrow brings.
If it’s still open I’ll take that berth… I just broke up with my gf so I’m in the mood to either lynch some werewolf S.O.B. or chomp down on some townie fillet.
(Given my natural inability to dissemble, I’ll probably just get myself executed by the town on Day One, but I’m willing to take that chance.)
