Ignored chores in the MMP

So the heaving itself was brief, but it was a cluster flock of epic proportions at the 200 slide. But things got done anyways.

I dust every week. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’d dump it and buy more(I usually buy the little boxes of wine, so I know it’s at the peak of wine-ness. :amphora:)

Sunny, thank you for sticking up for zoos. You said it very well; I’ll also add that many of our animals here are rescues who would not have survived in the wild. I have lots of specific examples but I won’t bore you all.

(Also, Sunny, when ya coming by?)

I know zoos can and do perform vital work. I did not mean to imply they are all bad.

@FairyChatMom

Emeril Lagasse says “If you wouldn’t drink it, why would you put it in your food?”

Our housekeeper wanted to come today instead of tomorrow, so we went out for breakfast at a small Mexican place in Prescott Valley. When we got home, all of our chores were magically done!

The clover really needs to be mowed and weeds are starting to grow but nothing will be done about that until the storms stop, so they don’t count.

I was really pretty surprised at how few downed trees I saw on the way to town. Because it had been so dry for so long, I thought that the trees would have been easy pickings for the recent storms. I’m happy that I was wrong.

Everything has turned green and anything that can grow flowers is doing so, I love the desert blooms.

One of our hummer feeders hangs in a spot where the rain can get to it, so I pulled it down and put it on the smoker. The hummers took about two minutes to figure it out, but I can tell they don’t like it much. I’m pretty sure they will be OK, there are two other feeders, not to mention all the flowers blooming all over the place.

When I bought my first house and invited my grandmother over to see it, she immediately found a rag and started dusting. She couldn’t just sit and visit - she had to be doing. As an aside, I think that’s why she died - she had a stroke and was bedridden and had to be cared for instead of doing the caring. I’m convinced that hastened her demise

I’ve never seen little boxes, but I’ll look. I took the bag out of the box, and there was some sort of residue on the inside of the inner bag. So, yeah, I think it needs to go.

For all intensive porpoises, I don’t drink (not a moral or medical issue - alcohol puts me to sleep, so I tend to avoid it.) But I do use it to cook. Anyway, as I said, I’m going to toss it.

We made a run to Aldi and the local farm market. They’ve had the best peaches I’ve had in a long time! All purchases are stowed and in a little bit, I’ll be taking the chicken out of the smoker. Then, until I have to make supper, I shall chill.

They also sell little bottles of wine in a 4-pack. One bottle is perfect for a small-ish pot roast, for example. Very convenient.

Example:

I didn’t take it that way. I just meant that you didn’t need to feel guilty.

I love housekeepers!

I used a pick axe to dig out the dead rosemary bush by the street, then used a shovel to dig out the metal fence post that was next to it. I spread the cedar bark along the property line (curls, not landscaping bark) and raked up the wood debris and put it with the bark. Then I mowed the lawns. Finally, there’s a bare patch by the mailbox where I’d spread clover seeds, but I kind of washed it out when I was watering it; so I wetted it, spread more seeds, and watered it more carefully.

Now I’m back to irk.

I think my smoker is dying. I had a small chicken in there for 6 hours at 225° and it still wasn’t done. Plus most of the chips I dumped in didn’t even char. I sent a message to Masterbuilt - maybe I need to replace the element. I honestly don’t recall when I bought it or where - it’s been ages…

So the chicken is in the oven to finish cooking. I need to decide on sides.

Heck, I need to decide on dinner in the first place!

Nappage has been achieved. Drove a friend around for a couple of quick errands, still need to retrieve laundry from the dryer … aaaaand Monkey just hopped into my lap & settled in for some serious snuggle time, so laundry will just hafta wait.

Ferrealz, tho … what the heck should I have for dinner?!?

After a quick pop in the oven at 350°, the chicken was done and yum!!! Sooooooo tender! Half the bird is bagged and in the freezer for a future meal. So, shoe, if you lived closer to me, I’d give you some smoked chicken. You obviously picked the wrong neighborhood to settle in.

Speaking of smokers - swampy - I know mine is similar to yours. Do you do anything in the way of maintenance beyond de-gunking it after use? Have you ever done anything to the heating element? I sent a message to Masterbuilt - we’ll see if they have anything to offer.

FCD got an email from my former boss who has gone to work for another contractor. Apparently they’re looking for someone to do some rapid prototyping. Dunno what, if anything, it may lead to, but he may whore himself out again. I know on one level, he misses working.

And now, the chillage!

Well crap. I left my mouse on the desk in the shop so I’m stuck using the stoopit touchpad thingy on the laptop. I know, first world problem. Should prolly just get 'nother computer for home. Or once the prototyping is done I can bring frankenputer here…hmmm. After so many years doing exhibits, I have much “e-waste” old computers that will no longer update, piles of USB microscopes, electronic sign units, user proof monitors, etc. I have my G-grandfather’s pack rat sense, so’s I hate to throw things out.

Interesting how different pack rat and rat pack are.

Ignored chores? The bane of my existence.

I have an overwhelming number of half done jobs in my life.

The only thing I can proudly say is that I have stopped starting new ones until I finish a bunch of the old ones first, and generally I’ve been sticking to it.

Inspired by our mutual sloth-like behavior and my total disinterest in doing. . .well. . .much of anything, I hung up five wall things today. A mirror and some art pieces. Exhausted by that 20 minutes of minimum effort, I then collapsed back into my chair.

JtC, your preparation of pickled peppers is akin to mine of coconut layer cake. :stuck_out_tongue:

sari, Ripple is a gem. One of Nelson’s buddies is kind of like that with both people and other animals.

Irked, came home, walked Nelson and et. Such excitement!

I don’t have some of the big chores that you all who live in a stand alone house, but I can find several things indoors that need a workday.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Howdy Y’all! Peekin’ in to say we are home from men’s night over to the church house. We had a good crowd and solved all the world’s problems. Of course, as usual, no one will listen to us, so the problems remain. I did not read, but promise to catch up tomorrow.

Good Night Y’all!

And… my 2.5 mile walk is in the bag. I’m showered. Next up: Chicken baked in the toaster oven, on top of ham, and Swiss cheese on top; and broccoli.

Then chillage.

For some unknowable-to-humans “fuzzy logic” reason, Buddy suddenly decided my bare toes needed grooming. My feet are very ticklish. He’s not going to be delighted when he returns from his supper dish to notice I’m now wearing socks in an effort to defend my toes.

(((Tugig))) Why don’t you visit more? How’s things? Besides chores, that is…
