I did my infusion this afternoon and then saw my haid doctor. I will be starting a new medicine, and a new neural stim machine, and will have a new nerve numbing treatment. We’ll see if any of this helps. I’m always willing to try.
dosent kopek work for amazon ?.. I seen this and wondered what he thought of it
I’m probably one of a few people that dosent mind heat … all cold weather does is make me sick and sets off my physical problems …its the deciding factor for me moving to the ca desert to stay…here in the desert 60 is cold enough for me …the coldest time is between xmas and new years …
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work. Double shift today.
Another awful night. I didn’t fall asleep till after 11, and I woke several times. We closed the house and turned on the a/c (Oh how I hated having to do that!!) and I got chilly. Stoopit weather.
The a/c guys should be here in a couple of hours. I need to shower and get some breakfast. I’m going to vacuum while waiting - there’s Ziva hair everywhere! I hope I can get to the office by 11 - we shall see…
Happy Star Wars Day!!!
Good Morning Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN I was a slug abed and did not wake up until seven a.m. ‘Tis 60 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 89 and N.O.S. for the day. Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, since I am to go out into the public I suppose I should purtify and don goin’ out amongst the people clothin’. Bother!
Happy Firday Y’all! May the Fourth be with you!
Waiting for the a/c guys to show up. **FCD **has left for his meeting and I’ll head to work once the service call is done. I have a few windows open and I’ll close them before I go - it got HOT in here yesterday and it took the a/c hours to cool it down.
Luckily, a cold front is due thru tonight and the weekend will be 20-ish degrees cooler by Sunday.
I should haul out the vacuum cleaner…
Once again, I’m not sure if you’re doing related sequential sentences or not. If you are, made sure you’re shod appropraitely.
Here’s a pun for y’all.
My friend was driving me home last weekend, and we passed some lion sculptures. I said I thought they were called library lions, and my friend wasn’t sure about that, so I said, “Was I telling the truth, or was I lion?”
Much to do today. Lots of cleaning.
Happy Firday!
It’s warm but cloudy outside.
Chilly inside since Sah-son insisted we turn on the AC.
It’s going back off though because it is supposed to cool down over the weekend, with lots of rain.
We’re going to put out the wild flower seed today, hopefully they will do better this year than last year.
Other than that SSDD
In the office. The a/c guy showed up early - yay! The inspection/service took about 15 minutes and I got here before 9:30. I don’t think I’ll have to come in tomorrow after all. Yay!
May the Fourth be with you (well, somebody had to say it…).
Going to get dressed reasonably nicely here in a minute and go get my vehicle tag renewed. That is the major adventure for the day.
BLURFAt irk, of course.
happy Thursday all.

Those are Fulfillment Centers and yes I believe it does go on; but like the reports says you do get “promoted to customer” for doing so. Some FCs can be really brutal especially during PEAK and Mini-PEAK and seasonals and new hires just get ------- stressed. IF and its a really big IF I was ever going to work in a FC I would want to go in say August or Feb-May and get acclimated and learn how to hit the goals without going nuts. I visited one as a tour and it can be done ---- but there are little tricks “we” just ain’t gonna waste our time teaching to FNGs who will be gone in a month or two at max. As a result many of the FNGs leave during their first break.
Now we did have an incident ------------ at our place Trailer Dock and Release safety inspections and procedures are done by normal (?) associates like me. This means your entire day is running in and out of the building and back and forth along the dock doors about as far from the bathrooms as possible and through specially gated security doors. There is a bathroom in this small “truckers lounge” but its a single person/seater and sometimes those truckers ------------
Well, a co-worker (not my shift) needed to pee but the room was occupied on his way out. And on his way back in. And again on his way out. Rinse and repeat. After holding it in for about 15 minutes more than he possibly could he found himself heading for the yard and still the room was occupied. So he did a specially close inspection of the trailers landing gear and dock connection; so close and intense that he left a huge puddle of “sweat” under the trailer. He lost his TDR license for a month for that one. Like everyone says ------ the cameras are damn good and plentiful. We have heard rumors of someone taking a dump IN an empty trailers but I do not have any personal knowledge of said event and I believe those (and there are several) who claim credit are former co-workers looking for street cred over why they got canned. That just sounds better around our favorite bar than “I got caught using a pallet jack for a skateboard”.
(there will be a part two to follow)
Now — for the rest of the story --------
What we get are the boxes after they have been packed and sealed. When we get a strange odor most times it is from a leaking package. We are the Anything Store and some of the stuff reeks. I’m an old ridgerunner and pretty immune from years of my mothers cooking but deer urine, fox urine, cleaning chemicals and lots of other things can be a sinus-opening experience to a lot of ya’ll city folks.
But there was this one package --------- even by my standards this was bad. I mean way beyond my summer-as-a-honeydipper bad. I and my lead co-worker got it into a postal tote and rather than putting it on the “problem solve” pallet (where it would continue to offend us) we walked it over to that department ourselves ------ and got some real looks from people as we passed by. The lady in PS refused to touch it until we opened it so we did and found it to contain a large leaking order of LIQUID ASS.
Yeppers – we sell Liquid Ass. This stuff has its own Wiki page for lords sake!
By the amount in this box it had to have been going to a fraternity somewhere. Some huge 70 pound box had probably landed on this A-3 box and --------- rupture occurred.
Ahhhhh – Da Jungle. Its not just a job; its an adventure. And a romp though some very strange land.
The comments about not being able to chat with coworkers kinda rubbed me the wrong way. I am not management, never have been, never wanted to be. But, doggone, when you’re hired to do a job, you’re not being paid to BS with you coworkers. If they’re being slapped down for a passing “Hey, happy birthday!!”, then I agree it’s a bit much, but if it’s a conversation about “the game” or a TV episode from the night before or whatever stupid thing some politician or celeb did, if all you’re doing is talking and not working, that’s unsat.
When I BS with my Baby Engineer, I’m also working on drawings. And before someone snarks about me posting right now - it’s my lunch break, so
Seriously, tho, people need to remember that they’re being paid to do a job, not shoot the bull with other people being paid to do a job. And get off my lawn!
Well, with that out of the way ------- enjoying being alone for a bit. Dinner will be pasta with sausage in the sauce and then to irk. I think I said something here or there about the Dope but our SC in Cleveland got hit with a tornado a couple weeks back (just after I left Celeveland – coincidence – yeah – coincidence – no chickens were harmed) and we have a lot of extra volume from where their area and ours overlaps; places like Erie and such. So after a lot of 3-and-outs we are doing the full 5 hours and sometimes some of us (including me) are asked to stay that 5:59 or clock out for 30 and clock back in to get finished. There is also talk we may get some X-Dock (don’t ask — there is no short explanation that would make sense) and an extra 30-40k from that. TPTB has already warned us that they may raise our hours from a max of 30 to a max of 70. Anything over 25 is very strictly voluntary so its not a big deal unless you are one of those whose eyes are always bigger than your tummy at the all-you-can-eat buffet. I’m a vet ---------- I know my limitations.
The OW is in Branson and by now has ridden Time Traveler at least once. Obligatory POV video.
Yeah ---- she’s nuts. But that should have been obvious considering who she was willing to marry.90% of the places out there it isn’t as bad as depicted. All that is treated a Time Off Task and veteran workers know/learn how to walk and chew gum at the same time. One friend and I can have a 20 minute conversation and still stay well beyond target by working and talking at the same time. Sure – there are small breaks as she goes to pallet 42 and I head for 11 but its still not that hard to do and not a bad way to keep a smile on your face. Stopping, standing still, is what gets you noticed. And at most of the facilities I know of (of all types) 5 minutes of not working is what it takes to trip ayones attention. And if you are going to be “not working” for 5 minutes at a time several times an hour I don’t want to work with you. I want this stuff through the building and my ass going home and doing a basic unit of work is how that is going to happen.
Chatty today, ain’t I? Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.
My trigger finger was injected today. The numbing has worn off and my finger feels better. Not 100% but that’s o.k. However, I have a good excuse for not weight training after irk. “My finger hurts!” But I will do my lower body exercises. Lunch was Lean Cuisine and chips. I’ve had better.
Luckily for you the Mumpers are willing to help each other out. Rest that finger & take it easy; I’ll take care of it for you.

Thanks, Spiderbutt. :dubious:
