I'll start the MMP

itallpaysthesame, itallpaysthesame, itallpaysthesame, itallpaysthesame, itallpaysthesame,

Home from the grocery store.
Going to let my lunch digest a little and then we will head out for the park. Ripple got pretty hot and tired from the short walk he gets around the store parking lot, so you’d think he’d want to stay home. But he’s got that come on ma look on his face. I think there won’t be much going on there.

I wonder how long it takes for baby birds to leave the nest. The one out back looks empty, and I think the babies out front are starting to fly already.
Guess I better go look it up.

Thirteen days, that is quick.

ILOVEMYJOBILOVEMYJOBILOVEMYJOB…

And I’m retiring in less than 6 months. Ain’t worth the ulcers…

Howdy Y’all! I laundered and then had some quality cee-mint pond time. Inside and all showered now cause 'tis HAWT and HYOOOOOOOOMID out and since I am a delicate flower, I needed to be in the a/c.

MOOOOOOM I suggest you set up some kind of countdown clock on your desk that announces loudly on a daily basis how many days until retirement. Fun for the whole office!

Sari I read do some “weeding” as do some “wedding” and pictured you goin’ about marryin’ random folks or maybe goin’ down to city hall or wherever and askin’ if there are any weddin’s you can witness today. Fun for everyone!

Some folks left early Sun because of a long ride home; others left after it was over Sun PM. Because there were less people, hotel rooms were consolidated (I both stayed & had a long ride home.) Put it this way, Vinny Gambini would have welcomed the (quiet) train whistle(s) over a certain new roomate’s snoring. Think I’m finally recovered from this wickend’s lack of sleep.

There was much drama at Satidy moaning’s supposed-to-be joyous event; will probably say more once the dust settles. I kicked the hornet’s next by authoring a rather polite, but nasty email that would make Bobbio’s poison pen blush…& I’m not done authoring yet. What happened? Think having the wrong body, like wrong sex & wrong race in the casket…then think worse than that!!!
As for the OP, get me outta the house, on a trail, running, hiking, snowshoeing, etc. Outside & moving forward in a natural setting is a wonnerful thing. (Except, sometimes on day’s like today. @#$%& airco has been turned on for first time this year; first heatwave of summer is upon us.

I’ve read up to now but have the memory of a goldfish, so let’s just say that I’m suitably sympathetic to everyone’s problems (especially Emily’s) and let it go at that.
{{{{Everybody}}}}

My ‘happy place’ is my home, and especially my train/computer room in my home, except that I’m getting ready to tear down my train layout and build another one so it has become ‘chaos central’

Pretty much my entire family are fundamental evangelical christians, and I’m agnostic, which they stubbornly choose to interpret as atheist. Up until a few years ago we were able to get along pretty well anyway, until somebody got the idea, probably from some preacher, that having an unbeliever in your house was tantamount to inviting satan into your house.
Sometimes I miss 'em. Most of the time not.

Moooom, you have my sympathy. I was a mainframe programmer (think IBM), but networks were really taking over when I left. The general opinion amongst my brethern and sisteren in the business was that they weren’t ready for prime time.
Apparently they still aren’t.
Glad I’m out of it.

I had a weird thing happen this morning. I had gotten a box of Kashi breakfast cereal yesterday and had a bowl of it this morning. While I was eating it a spot inside my lower lip that I had bitten previously began to hurt and then swell. A lot! After a few minutes it felt like I had gotten a shot from the dentist. I also got itchy all over. I went looking for some benadryl but couldn’t find any. It lasted about an hour and went away. I can’t definitively pin it on the cereal, but I’m pretty sure.
Weird. :dubious:

Yesterday I made a bunch of pulled pork. It came out pretty okay, except I don’t like the spice rub the recipe had me put on the pork shoulder at the beginning. So now I’ve got about 3 pounds of pulled pork I want to do something with. Pozole? Chili Verde? Anybody got any ideas?

Evening all. At the Halifax hotel close to the airport, from which I’ll be departing Canada tomorrow morning. Managed to forget the Garmin unit I rented (and hardly used) TWICE (left at hotel)…the second time I had already pulled into the Budget return area, so beginning to wonder if travels rots the brain.

Ah well, did get to see the Bay of Fundy at work (the water does run the opposite way depending on the tides), ate at a Swiss Chalet (Canadian restaurant, so-so), and drove about 450 kilometers, so ought to sleep well tonight.

Still, things are working out so far.

I was born and raised Roman Cat-lick, but am agnostic/areligion (Might be a God, but has nothing to do with any faith man has come up with) while my brother and family are fundy (Bible Inerrant) Lutherans, so we don’t discuss religion during visits.

Sherman is a good name for ExTank.

Spidey, we are all agog on the happenings at wherever you were (I’m not sure about me-see above).

Bumba, you’ll just have to try the cereal again to prove the hypothesis…:stuck_out_tongue:

Butters, hope husband unit manages not to take anymore damage.

FCM, Roxy is learning how she can control people now…life is going to be interesting…once you retire.

Cookie, given you’re a chef feeding people, why did it take so long to figure out the cat? :p:)

Sari, neighbors will be so thrilled by the towing bill they’ll have another fight just to keep you awake…

All y’all I didn’t get to have a good week. On to Chicago tomorrow.

My upbringing was strictly secular. We didn’t go to church, unless we were visiting my mom’s mother on a Sunday. Christmas was more Ho-Ho-Ho and Jingle Bells and Santa Claus, than Away In A Manger With Baby Jesus. Mrs. L.A. thinks that’s a shame, and she’s disappointed with my parents for bringing me and my sister up that way. I’m pretty sure she knew what she was getting when she married me, though.

We supped up all the leftovers so now I have to for real cook tomorrow. Fortunately I do not mind that. Anywho, we et, kitchen cleanded and chillage ensues.

Glad you’re feeling better nava.

Holy cow, butters! Hubster is really not having a good year injury wise.

bumba, pozole or pantry stew for the pulled pork.

Irk was irksome. Talking with Sis right now and keeping tabs on the Nashville mayoral debate.

You know if I call someone to come and work on something at my house the first thing I do is put the dog up where he can’t get to whomever I have called for a service. When hubby went to irk on this A/C yesterday the owner was sitting outside. Dog came up to hubby and sniffed and walked away. All was well or so he thought until he walked closer to the owner and the dog charged and bit him on the shin. Owner was very apologetic stating that the dog is very protective of him. Well, if you know this why in hell don’t you put the dog up??? People. I will never understand some people.

I got some stuff done today, but was pretty tired. Didn’t sleep well last night because I coughed a lot.
At least my former roommate isn’t complaining about my coughing this time.

Worked, laundered, napped. Making an Old Fashioned for cocktail hour. I’m Cat-Lick,
But much like an decrepit nun, I have a bad habit of not going to Mass. Old PC is dead, old laptop is slooooow. And when new PC comes tomirrow, I have tonremwmber all the passwords. :open_mouth:

She only needs a felony conviction if she plans to work in Australia. (I miss **Dottygumdrop ** :frowning: )

Some days I would welcome #1.

Wrong species? O_o

Like doggio and metal mouse, I was brought up Cat-lick. However, I kinda lost belief sometime between first communion and confirmation, so I’m a heathen. I still like a well [del]performed[/del] done Christmas Eve midnight mass, the Easter Vigil is too long and drawn out for a non believer however and doesn’t have the same beauty that Christmas does.

Sis and I decided that we have a second sister who’s gone around the bend to bat shit crazy. I’m thinking part of it is the empty nest thing (her youngest is in high school, the other two in college or will be come fall) and the fact that she’s been a SAHM for twenty years. She’s gotten into religion and somewhat into right wing politics of late and is now lectuing the rest of us on the right way to live (we’re all non believers, including Dad). Makes for some awkward conversations (she’s not a horrible person, but gawd, the lectures).

today is aunt and deceased uncles wedding anniversary … and for two people who really didn’t get along much the last 10 or so years before he passed on (he chased anything that was female and said hi and she was a PITA in various ways of which i didn’t learn about until years later … and some of it was due to other people ) i guess absence makes the heart grow fonder
The cooler still drips in the house when turned on… luckily its been mild in the desert past couple of weeks…

On top of my usual things I will now have to find time for a clutch adjustment on the car. No biggie really and its something I could maybe probably do myself but ----- I just don’t want to. Give me something from the 50s and I’ll machine parts myself and plunk them in. These new cars I almost hate changing oil; so I usually just pay someone to do it for me. Hello dealership? Any openings sometime soon?

I had read a “church adjustment on the car”, probably because of all the talk of being raised this or that, and pictured Carrie driving Chuckie away from a pursuing exorcist. The exorcist really should’a done more exercising, he wasn’t much of a runner.

Tummy is pretty much back to normal, which is very polite of it.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 75 Amurrkin out and clear (well, daylight) with a predicted high of 96 and mostly cloudy this afternoon. We shall see. This bein’ hump day, I shall lay in provisions. First, however, I shall betake myself to the church house for various chores includin’ haulin’ the biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig trash cans allllllllll the way down to where they go for pickup tomorrow, changin’ out some wicks in candles, and various other things. Also need to check the cleanin’ supplies list to see if’n anything is needed. I shall decide on sup whilst shoppin’ for provisions. Kinda hopin’ the Pubic Sto’ has some good and somewhat reasonably priced salmon filets as that grilled sounds good to me.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, alack, and bother of bothers, I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire. Life is so hard!

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

Another lapsed Cat-lick here. Spousal unit was raised Southern Baptist, and after we married, we visited a variety of churches over the years. The longest attendance was an Episcopal church, but even that didn’t quite fit. We just try to lead good lives, help out when we can, and not deliberately hurt anyone. 'Cause we’re nice, dammit!

I drove FCD’s car today. SIL has to work and daughter is taking Roxy to the movies (the local theater does a kiddie matinee on Weds in the summer.) I let daughter use my car and I was going to take the truck today, but **FCD **said he’s not going anywhere, so I’ve got his wheels. And since I don’t have Roxy to pick up, I can stop at the grocery and the Amish market for some goodies on my way home. I may even grab a rotissed chickie for supper. We shall see.

Meanwhile, there’s a pile of stuff on my desk that demands my attention. Happy Wednesday!!

Morning all. My plane reservations only allowed a 35 minute change in Toronto (flights chenged since may), so I got up early and went to the airport. Between United and Air Canada I found something rare these days…excellent customer service…so I am on a flight to Toronto about 90 minutes earlier and didn’t cost me a cent more. Yeah UA and AC!!

Otherwise all is well. Everyone have a good hump day.
