I'll start the MMP

And a big three points for the reed section from the north! (o)/

It’s 90 degrees and my yearly air conditioning inspection has turned into an air conditioning replacement. And the garbage company forgot to pick up my garbage.

What’s ‘air conditioning’?

Your Aussie relatives would be completely freaked out by the family graves in Pamplona. My relatives are all in the same grave (never mind that bones have occasionally been taken to the ossuary), except for those who are with their spouse and in-laws instead. Some of the graves have already filled up all the space left for names (more than 30 names) and added slabs of stone held up by supports that look like easels with very short legs.

Sup was teh nummy! I must have really wanted some grilled salmon. We et and the kitchen is all cleanded up. All is well.

Midget you win funniest post of the week. No need for anyone else to enter.

In Chicago waiting for a friend to go to dinner. Not a Mumper, he’s from the JREF board many years ago.

Getting here was not half the fun, I’ll tell you about it when I have time and energy, both of which are in short supply.

Have read but did not necessarily comprehend, so best to all and hugs, ‘aws’, and dope slpas as required.

It’s not the being in together- if they were all in together that would be fine- it’s the being buried with her sister-in-law when her husband is a couple of graves down…

Mind you, that side of the family also get wound up about things like me staying in mixed dorm rooms, because something  boys  something.

They also refused to let my then 18-year-old cousin’s fiancee sleep in the same house but in another room from him with me sleeping in the room with her to ensure neither hanky nor panky took place, but were thoroughly happy about an 18 year old having a fiancee. I don’t think we understand each other very well.

I’ll still be working for another half-hour (I generally work until 15:30), but I’ve prepped dinner. We’re having fish kebabs and asparagus, which I’ll cook on the barbie. The kebabs are cubes of wild-caught salmon sprinkled with a pinch of kosher salt, and pieces of red bell pepper. The asparagus spears are very thick. I’ll put some olive oil on them and give them a touch of salt.

Supper was rotissed chickie, Amish corn, and Amish green beans-n-onions. Roxy is a hoot with an ear of corn - she eats maybe a third of it before getting bored.

Chillage shall ensue till bed time.

Thanks swampy

It’s really hot today. At some point I should try to get some fans going.

May your AC be installed ASAP and the garbage picked up soon wet one.

It was 99F when I got off irk this afternoon. It dropped about 10 degrees on the way home because of the shower. But it’s still hotter than, as my late godmother would say, billy blue hades. Our printer was out all day with no attention from IT. That meant that we had to walk about 100 feet to the printer in another department until afternoon, when a new piece of machinery was being installed directly in teh path and we had to go around Robin Hood’s barn to get to it, roughly 350 feet. Did I mention that I irk in an arm of finance and we have a hard copy of almost everything? I’s tahred.

I will be making some broccoli salad after supper for our potluck tomorrow. I fried the bacon for it while fixing supper, so’s there’s just the chopping of vegetation, mixing and making the dressing for it.

And a Longboard Lager. Just finished.

Work was interesting. We’re trying a new technique to handle small packages and -------- its not going too terribly well. If the bosses would just go away for two hours and leave it to us to work out on our own everything would be fine. But they have to be involved making a simple process complex. To steal one from my late Gramma Rose “those folks could complicate a dog-f*ck in the back yard”.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 71 Amurrkin out and clear (daylight is just beginnin’ to show up so I"ll give TWPTB that) with a predicted high of 95 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. I have a kinda domestic big day planned. I shall get the ribs goin’ on the smoker in a bit. They and the chikin boobs and laigs got rubbed (feels like I should <snerk> when I type rubbed) last night. The ribs are sittin’ on the kitchen counter (in a pan, of course, cause to just set them on the counter would be ick) to come up to room temp. I want to get them on around sixish and let 'em smoke about four hours, take 'em off and wrap 'em in heavy foil. I’ll stick a slab in the oven on low temp for a couple hours cause we’ll eat those this weekend. The rest shall get frozen with most used next week for the biiiiiiiiiiig Fourth of July soiree here at da cave. After the ribs, I’ll do the chikin in the same manner. We shall have chikin boobs with whatever side matter I decide for tonight’s sup. Along with all that, I shall accomplish mowage. I figure that will keep me outta trouble and off the streets for the day.

Ruble I am sure I would have loved Gramma Rose.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, let the smokin’ and mowage commence! Rah.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

I suspect they also do not understand either hanky or panky. As my brother said when his future parents-in-law returned home “early”* from a weekend spent (as usual) in a small town nearby, trying to catch their daughter and her brand-new boyfriend in flagrante, “FFS, I know of at least six shared flats we could have access to by the asking! Why would we be so stupid as to have sex in their house?:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:”

  • and proceeded to freak out that my brother was cooking. As future-SiL put it “he can cook and I can not! If you truly believe it should have been me who cooked+, teach me!” They got married seven years later and SiL still couldn’t cook, her mother being one of those people who are incapable of letting others mess up their kitchen.
  • sexist, Bro’s in-laws? Nooo. What gave you such a notion?

Sounds like my current client. If there are six ways of doing something, they choose the most complicated one. If there is something everybody in the world does according to the same standard (even the Americans!¬), they have to come up with a version that’s more complicated and of course incompatible with the zillion of existing tools which already exist, and which are designed specifically to be in accordance with the standard.

¬ Who may in fact be the people who originated the standard.

Well, I still can’t get access that I need to do my job. The boss sent an email to the contractor suggesting they do a GoToMeeting with me… except I don’t have sound on my computer. So we shall see what happens. But apparently I’m now the only one with issues.

Yeah, Happy Thursday. :stuck_out_tongue:

Howdy Y’all! I have mowed, showered, and the ribs shall come off the smoker in around thirtyish minutes. Then the chikin can go on the smoker to do it’s thing whilst I wrap ribs in foil. Go Me!

96 minutes till quit o’clock…

Moooommmm have you tried rebooting? :stuck_out_tongue:

Other than that, I got nothing.

Happy Thorsday!

The sun is shining, it’s already 81 degrees outside and supposed to go up to 91.

Today we are going to go to Lowes since they have mulch on sale. I have a ton of thick heavy cardboard here from all the deliveries yesterday and we can put cardboard around the bushes out front and then mulch.
They also have plants on sale and I’m going to see if they have anymore shasta daisies. I want to put them all the way down the sidewalk, or at least all the places that get sun. The end of the side walk is always shaded, I’ll think about that part later, but probably hosta.
The shade wild flowers aren’t doing so well, or maybe they just take longer.

We’re going to remove the nest from above the door now that the babies have flown away. From what I have read, robins seldom use the same nest twice.

Then we are going to go to Brusters, since my son wants to go and today is Ripple’s birthday, so he can get some ice cream too.
I’ll probably be stupid and get something too, and we will be getting ice cream on Saturday too.
Although I may give my sundae to my son. I got chocolate syrup and brownie bits for mine, and caramel syrup, banana, and nilla wafer bits for him.

Ripple is such a goof, my son put my cart together in the living room, and Ripple is afraid of it.
