Olive oil on the grill usually turns out badly for me.
I rebooted the crap outta it!!!
Dunno what the issue is, but the stuff I’m doing for Baby Engineer doesn’t require the same interface as other projects, so I can keep working. Except when you Mumpers distract me!
Yeah, OK, it’s because it’s so sloooooow to bring up new models, so I have to distract myself here. Hush. I’m going back to work!
AC is fixed and working. The guys finally finished at 8pm. I’m poorer, but cool. The inside temp was 83 when they finished. Garbage still not picked up but at least it’s not in the garage being all stanky. I called in sick to irk just cuz.
Pssst. Hey, Mom?
08:30 here. 420 minutes until quit o’clock for me.
Warm and w i n dy (sorry, the letters keep blowing away) here today. I was planning on going to the beach, but I think I would have got sandblasted.
Sat in and did not much instead. Woulda done washing, 'cos it would have dried really fast on the line, but I did it all yesterday. I did make lemon drizzle cake; not my best, but it turned out OK. It’s dangerous me making cake when I live alone though…
It is hot today.
Went to the park, then went to Lowes.
I bought 9 plants and 30 bags of mulch, which have been unloaded off the truck and are piled on the patio.
I think I have too much mulch, but you never know. Last time we mulched out front it took 12 bags, and I have more places where I want to put it.
The plants I bought were really dry, so I put them out in the rain until we have time to plant them, won’t be today.
As soon as we finished unloading the truck it started to pour rain.
We will be heading out for ice cream soon
maybe the sweat will be dry by then.
The thermometer on my car read 102° when I left the office - that’s what happens when a dark car sits in the sun. The actual temp was in the 90s - not much relief.
Thus beginneth my weekend. I need to do some work in the yard, and it’ll have to be done early or I’ll melt. I’m thinking I might take Roxy to the marine museum tomorrow - we’ll see how the day goes.
For now, I need to figure out supper. I’m thinking we’ll just grab whatever.
In the idiot drivers department
Today on the way to Lowes I got behind a car that I just knew the driver wasn’t quite right in the head. Nothing specific, but just one of those drivers that you know you have to keep an eye on them.
So we come up to the train tracks, and the red lights are flashing, the driver went right past the flashing lights (there is no arm that comes down) and stops in the middle of the tracks and sits there, with the train coming.
Then instead of going forward, the driver puts the car in reverse, and backs up to get off the tracks.
If you are already halfway across the tracks you may as well keep on going. But you should have stopped before the tracks when you saw the red lights blinking.
Howdy Y’all! A busy day of smokin’ meats (that probably deserves a <snerk>), mowin’, and puttin’ said meats all wrapped up in foil in da freezer except for what we et or will eat. Sup was smoked chikin boobs with the leftover veggies and rice from yestiddy. Also, I cleanded the smoker. Go Me!
Sari sounds like you saw a future Darwin Award winner today.
swampy, you and my manager may have to have a poke <snerk> butt <snerk> smoke off. We had a potluck today in which he brought a poke butt he’d brined, patted down and smoked over applewood. 'Twas yum!
At said potluck, there was also baked beans, slaw and my broccoli salad. I had Greek tomato bean soup out for supper, so there will definitely be a fart fest tonight.
It came close to triple digits again today. Shortly after I got home, the wind kicked up and the clouds opened. We are now in the midst of big thunderboomers.
I fast potted a turkey roast and the remains of that was supper. We had a cloud come up and rain all around us but nary a drop here. I want rain, dammit.
Tomorrow is Firday Thank ye Gods. Tis been a long week. We remain very busy as is normal for June and July. I asked and got the approval to close my shop for two hours from 1100-1300 on the 18th to take my staff to lunch to see off my main clerk off. I shall miss her but don’t blame her one iota for leaving. She does not need the pitiful money we pay her.
I have put in a leave chit for the 5th so I shall have a 4 day weekend next.
**Louie ** is nearly well from his digestive attack and I have been giving him some boiled chicken and he had a little turkey tonight. He has lost a little weight which is not a bad thing. Still no treats.
It has been hot as two hells here.
You can do GtM for visual & dial in from your phone.
Oooh, one more way we can do in flytrap; baste him in olive oil before throwing him on the [del]pyre[/del] barbie.
You should be stoned for bad jokes like that.
Went to the ballgame today; one run thru eight innings (for both teams); a combined eight runs in the 9th! Just missed getting a souvenir HR ball, too. ![]()
Finally gave up and fired up the A/C.
7.25 hours later it cooled the house down 5 degrees.
Think there is a problem?
Awake BLURF entirely too early. 4 am?.. I don’t think so. I shall try to get back to sleep
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 72 Amurrkin out and fair (well, it is very hyooooooooomid which I see as unjust), with a predicted high of 93 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. Only the low nineties? Well, BRRR!
Not a whole lot on the agenda today which is fine by me. I do need to go over to the church house and do a few things. I shall accomplish that later this mornin’ and maybe grab a burger or sump’n for N.O.L. whilst out and about. Mayhaps some quality cee-mint pond time this afternoon. Sup shall be majik intartoobz pizza.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands to be fed. At some point I shall also purtify and don appropriate bein’ in public attire. Life is such a bother some times!
Happy Firday Y’all!
Up, caffeinated, and shoveled. Off to work.
Happy Firday!
Going to be another hot day, although not as hot as it is in Georgia and Florida.
Probably won’t get too much yard irk done, as by the time I get off irk this morning it will be getting hot.
Making hamburgers for dinner.
**Butters **- you and I were up together, tho I did fall back to sleep till about 6:30. PS - I sent you a PM - you need to send me an address.
Our new TV is being delivered today, supposedly between 11-1. Before then, I intend to clear the path to our oil tank - it’s gotten overgrown something awful. I also need to check how much oil is in there - we didn’t get a delivery all last winter.
The baby yarn was delivered the other day - 3 pounds of it! Apparently, mostly they want hats. Making baby caps is boring, but it should go fast, so there’s that. I think I’ll make one baby blanket, too. And most of the dribs and drabs will go into hats and scarves that they donate to the food pantry. I shall be busy this summer.
But for now, I need to dig some grubbies out of the hamper, spend a couple of hours outside, then get cleaned up and properly attired for the rest of my day.
Happy Firday!!
When I lived in the desert, we had a swamp cooler. It worked very well if you turned it on first thing in the morning. You’d be cold for a couple of hours, but it would be worth it in the afternoon. It seemed the swamp cooler was pretty good at keeping it from getting too hot in the house, but not so good at cooling the house once it was already hot inside.
