First, I’m not a young lady. I’m a guy. Only 16, 17 in a few weeks. I haven’t really been active in SDMB for quite a few months. I know, shame! But school caught up with me. But now it’s vacation, and I’m bored!
I can relate to the boredom, hard to get motivated thing. I’m not so much bored as avoiding. I recently started a new job, which is totally self-directed and involves a lot of writing. Real, grown-up writing, not the kind of self-indulgent crap I usually write. So, I can’t even start. I have a couple of general topics, but I can’t get them to gel enough to begin. I need a point to begin the process.
So, instead, I’ve been letting the SDMB be my entertainment. La, la, la, la . . .
Wait. I must admit. I’ve heard a lot about dopefest’s but don’t really know details. What exactly happens, just a bunch of dopers get together to party?
Yes, Bunny, YES! I have a sloped bed that our landscapers put crappy ugly stuff in. I’d been trying to fill in around it, but my mom visited this spring and said screw it all, let’s yank it all out and fill it in with something that gives a lot of coverage and will spread. Daylillies were our choice. However, the soil was bad so they didn’t spread a lot this season, and I’m realizing that I should have bought far more.
So damn, yeehaw, I’d love some more daylilles. They are damn near impossible to kill so you could probably dig some up today in the 95 degree heat, leave them sit outside for a week until you boxed them up and sent them via slowest-possible mail to me, and they’d still be fine, but I hear they’ll do better if we wait until fall. So maybe we can get together in Sept or Oct (alas, I’ll miss OhDope) and do a daylilly hand off.
That is so excellent. These orange ones I’ve got are just taking over my flower bed near the house. And you’re right. I’m not sure if it’s really possible to kill the buggers.
I was planning on digging them up in probably October once all the foliage dies back. We’ll make arrangements to do a pass off then.
I’m so glad you’re taking them - I always feel guilty getting rid of a plant if I don’t have a good home for it. Anthropomorphism, I guess.

and I was just at a convention last weekend (worked it, got paid in stamps), so have some new stamps (I didn’t have all of them yet) and some new papers.
See, I thought your next question would be “How do you enbolden text?”. Hence the "b"s instead of "sub"s. Or something. There’re actually instructions around here somewhere. I’m too lazy to check. Being too lazy to check stuff, likes facts and things, is what keeps me in IMHO and MPSIMS.

BunnyGirl, I feel your pain. I’m just south of Detroit. I’m currently shirtless, with a fan blowing on me, and still sweating a bit. (I know, not a pretty sight, but had to be said to get the point across.)
