Just over a year ago I meet a great woman at swim practice. She smiled at me when we walked in the door. I talked to her for a minute that night when we were practicing starts for our up coming meet.
A week later at the meet we talked for most of the meet. However at the social after the meet is when we really hit it off. We found out that we both like to travel and I told her about my up coming trip to Europe in a couple of months. So we talked about all the places we had been, me mostly Europe and all of the lower 48, her Europe and the rest of the world, just not the US.
So after a couple of months she decided to go to Europe with me. However, she had never been on a motorcycle before so for her it was going to be a real adventure. We got to visit from Italy to Romania over a two weeks. I was there for five so I got more in.
So fast forward a year, and at the same meet we basically meet at a year ago I asked her to marry me. She was expecting it since she helped me pick out the ring. Ok she picked it out and I paid for it. Except I couldn’t just let her know it was coming so I got some Easter Eggs and a bunch of toys to put in it. Then I handed out the eggs to other members of our team. Knowing that she would have to ask me I kept two eggs, one with stuff in it and one with the ring. She only asked me once though, and it took her awhile to figure out that had two eggs.
So we’re planning a late October wedding. We are hoping to get married in the pool we meet at. And since it’s the end of October we are planning on having a costume reception instead of the old boring lets wear ties and dresses type. We are planning on going to Egypt and Greece for our honeymoon. And since she’s a doper, Iris, that makes another doper wedding.
