I guess as a Canadian I would not be allowed to comment on American culture and American ideals even though they are approximately ten times the size of us and that the culture is seen from the outside by us…even though I am not experiencing them as an American, I can still make comments on them because of our shared experiences and backgrounds. If you substitute gay and straight for Canadian and American it is the same thing…the shared experiences of humanity are what allow us to comment on something we may not experience directly. It would be absurd to suggest ghettoising posters simply because of their race, creed, religious background, ethnicity, whatever. I may be a white agnostic Canadian but I am able to admire and respect the beliefs and ideals of Martin Luther King…and I know that I feel that all people should be allowed to post whatever and wherever we like…anyone else who even hints otherwise should take their narrow, closeted, closed bigoted mind and crawl back under the fucking rock they oozed out of in the first place.

Second, why is it that people who start throwing Bible quotes around (that is, those who actually give them) to support their bigotry have obviously never read the whole thing cover to cover? And why do they pick and choose which “sins” are worse than others? Aren’t all “sins” equal in the eyes of God? Can we talk about the speck in your brother’s eye vs. the log in your own? Didn’t Jesus take the tax collector to lunch? Isn’t God supposed to be the ultimate judge, according to YOUR beliefs? Who put you in charge of judging everyone else? And these thoughts are just off the top of my head. I’m sure the big guns will be along shortly.
You think being gay is a sin? Fine. Then don’t be gay. Anyone else’s sexuality, sin or not, is between them, their partner, and God (according to YOUR beliefs, remember) and none of your damn business.

Now it’s true say some posters [cough]Esprix[/cough] proclaim their “gayness” to the ‘nth’ degree. Honestly - every once and a while it annoys me. Regardless, it’s their every right to do so (and I think Esprix is a pretty cool guy aside).
Oh, honey, I gave up being pissed off by this stuff a long time ago. There are a lot more things that need to take up my valuable being-pissed-off time more urgently than people who are obviously the victims of failed genetic experiments.

By the way, my mom sent me this once, it was a letter she wrote to some “friends” after they sent her one too many anti-gay glurge letters. Keep in mind that she was raised in a very conservative Baptist environment in the fourties and fifties. I’ve been saving it for a time I thought it would be appropriate:
