I'm Up too Early so May as Well Start the MMP

Doc called. He said it’s a weird muscle…apparently a muscle that went rogue or something. Anyway, huge sigh of relief, as this is the best possible news. Whew.

But, uh, just curious…what kind of spiders are these? Where are they stored? And how do I ensure I don’t get a big ol’ box of arachnids? May I say you look lovely today? That’s a nice color on you. I like you. Please don’t send me spiders.

You weren’t the only one feeling Orwellian. Watched “1984” last night on Amazon Prime.

Yay! Great news!!!

I know nothing about any spiders. Nope.

Long, hot, hyooooomid day, with a brief pop-up storm right as I needed to talk to a customer who hadn’t placed any order, so I got soaked. (I was so sweaty by that point, I kinda needed a shower.)

Took a real shower as soon as I got home, and am having some soup. Doubt I’ll have anything more - I’m too pooped to eat.

On the plus side, the boss have us each a (pre-packaged) brownie to take home, gratis. No idea why, certainly wasn’t gonna ask or question it. Yes, it’s that kind of brownie. Something to look forward to tomorrow or Sunday - I won’t be awake long enough to enjoy it tonight.

Y’all take care, sleep tight, and don’t let the bedbugs bite.

Hippie. So sorry for the loss of your sister. I am the baby of the family so it’s likely to happen to me at some point. Prayers to all.

I irked a full 8 1/2 hours. Daughter took hubs to his neurology appt. the same two young men helped get him down the stairs and back up afterwards. New doc was very nice I was told. He put two more cortisone shots in specific muscles called piriformis or something like that and ordered the MRI of the sacral and pelvic area. Hubs is feeling a little better already and is moving easier. We are just waiting for the horsepistol to call to schedule the MRI.

Daughter is a real estate agent and sold a house yesterday so good for her. She also secretly told me her Dad is a grouchy ass. Preaching to the choir. She has more patience than I do at this point.

Dots and others that forget to eat or don’t want to eat does not compute. I guess I am a stress eater or boredom eater. Dots you should eat anything you want like others have said, healthy or not.

BuddyBoy has at least stopped barking at Cindy, the daughter, but they haven’t got friendly enough to let her pet him. Strange dog. I told her he will warm up to her in time. I need to have the talk with her about how long she intends to stay and I guess all that is dependent on what we find and if surgery is needed. Hubs is quite depressed right now.

So weekend. I lugged home my official irk computer and will try to do some of that training on my own time if the computer will allow it. I did Prevention of Suicide yesterday. It was long and boring but I read every word though there was no test. Had I know that I could have clicked through but it is done now. Some of the training is redundant and unnecessary IMO. Can’t have Butters doing nothing even if she is dealing with a family emergency of sorts. Yep he is an ass. Doesn’t bode well thus far.

I hope everyone with sick tummies get better soonest. Sari be happy you can have a fence at all. Here one cannot have a fence of any sort that impedes travel of the Key Deer. If one has a fence it was grandfathered in from ages ago. If I ever move again it will be to a place with a fenced in grassy yard.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Hubby and I were talking about shelf liner the other day. He asked if anybody still used it, as it was (could be still) quite easy to find in U.S. grocery stores. We’ve never seen it here, I’ve never used it and my parents stopped using it years ago.

So I’m curious about what the shelf liner is supposed to do.

Ragweed is called Ambrosia in German. It’s not very ambrosia-like, as it means I am sneezing, my eyes are all goopy and my nose is running. And this is after it rained last night, and I am taking generic claritin. Not fun.

Nellie yay for rogue muscles.

{{{Hugs}}} for everybody. Be happy they are only virtual.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to sort.

Glad it’s just a rouge muscle, nellie. And glad it wasn’t a rogue mussel.

Morning all!
Count me among those for whom ‘forget to eat’ does not compute. I do forget to drink occasionally though, and instead of feeling thirsty I just get really short-tempered, which isn’t good.

It’s a sunny, cool morning here, it’s feeling like the start of autumn, and I’m debating switching back to the winter duvet. It doesn’t do to rush such decisions though- the weather could easily swing back warm.

I have no real plans for today, though it is the last weekend before what’s seemed like an endless summer break finally ends, so I sort of feel like I should be doing something to make the most of it, especially given the weather. At least with the end of summer break, the tourists will start to migrate away, so I should have more options for places to go at weekends after this.

I do plan to go give the bees a better checkup later, but that’s about it.

The cabinets in daughter’s house are probably the ones installed when it was built in '82 (making them older than she is!) The bottom shelves and drawer bottoms are plywood with no finish - I’m guessing it’s been washed off over the years. So the liner I used - a bit thick and cushion-y - is mainly to separate anything that might come in contact with food or the mouth from the plywood. It’s a temporary measure till they can afford to replace their cabinets.

Boy, howdy, did we have a storm last night! At one point, there was a lightning strike so close that I could feel the thunder to my core! :open_mouth: But I didn’t hear any sirens, so I’m assuming (hoping) it didn’t burn down anyone’s house. Laura is supposed to barrel thru the area late this morning into the afternoon. I’ve got a bunch of laundry to do which, alas, must go in the dryer. I’ll probably do a load of diapers also - no way daughter will have time. Plus another door guy is coming at 10.

Daughter is going to paint her living room today and tomorrow, they’re taking our living room furniture, so I need to empty the tables of our junk. It’s going to be weird not having a sofa, but it’s temporary. We still need to decide what we’re going to get for replacements. FCD wants a sectional and I really don’t much like them - especially because of the size of our room and the door placement. So we shall see.

Meanwhile, I think I’m going to go walk now before the deluge. I haven’t been able to walk for the last 2 or 3 days, and I hate that. So behave yourselves!!!

Happy Saturday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ’ ‘Tis 76 Amurrkin out and partly cloudy (partly moony?) with a predicted high of 89 with possible rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon and evenin’. We shall see. This mornin’ I shall put the Brunswick stew on to slow simmer for a while. I love that big eighteen quart roaster/oven thingy I have for such purposes. I use it for stuff like stews and soups. We shall taste test when it’s done, but the big eatin’ of it will commence tomorrow. Always better after it sits (sets?) overnight and all the flavors meld together. Any need to feed today will be via forage as we have plenty of stuff for sammiches, plus chips. 'Twill be a decidedly lazy day at da cave.

Sunny it’s been a while since we’ve pulled out the pointy stick wielding Sri Lankan ninja spiders! I think that’s what we named ‘em. I’m sure they’re spoilin’ for a fight.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

:spider: :chopsticks: :spider:

They thought you’d forgotten them!

Looking out the window, I don’t know that we got any more rain overnight here. There certainly was a dramatic lighting show on the way home last night.

Sent my rent and water payments (early thankyouverymuch!) and have gas in my car in advance of any hurricane related price jumps. Still have enough for 'lectric and … well, there’s probably one more wolf at my door, likely either car payment or car insurance.
Anyways, my point was gonna be that there’s people & cat & rat food in the house, I’m roughly current on bills, and my job may kick my ass some days but at least I have one (and this one comes with occasional freebies!) and that’s all together a pretty snug, secure feeling.

Afternoon, mumpers! Happy Caturday  Nothing much happening here, certainly no fire-related excitement today. We had cocktails last night and watched a couple of films, chatted to a friend and have made plans to visit a kitty café next weekend. Strange to think it’ll be the first time I’ve been on public transport for several months as we’ll need to get the train into the city.

There’s a webfest going on today, I should have been at a music festival which obviously isn’t happening but a bunch of the bands have been able to record themselves so I will be tuning in for some of that later. Contemplating a stroll into town but also not contemplating it. Both of us are a bit bunged up today, almost like we’re coming down with colds but it’s probably nothing.

I should do laundry and vacuum the cat fur off the carpets…but I Don Twanna. Maybe tomorrow instead. It’s my turn to make dinner tonight and I have plans for a faffy pie so I might make the filling this afternoon and then just chuck the pastry lid on later when I want to shove it in the oven.

Right now, I need to consider what to do, and have another cup of tea.

Good morning, all!
I think I’m all better today. :crossed_fingers:t3: That was one Strange Interlude yesterday. Even the weird kink in my back is gone this morning, and it was there up until the minute I lay down in bed last night. Got 8.5 hours of sleep, which is a record of some kind. I’m going to be very careful what I eat today, as I believe this was food-related. And keep drinking lots of water. I was too sick to stock the pantry yesterday, so I’ll probably do that sometime today. Thanks for all the check-ins, y’all. Means a lot when you’re stuck here alone. :wave:t3:

P.S. It’s going to over 100 again today. I got up to pee at 3 am and it was 82 degrees outside! That’s just wrong.

Yesterday was supposedly the last day of the heat wave. Thunderstorms apocalypse was predicted for last night but of course that didn’t happen. All grass is brown yellow and crunchy. We haven’t had rain since August 10. Ariel is now barefoot. She threw her remaining shoe. Matt was there yesterday to do a reset and we decided she’s going barefoot to save me aggravation. If she gets foot sore I’ll give her aspirin and tell her to get over it.

hippie I’m sorry about your sister. Bothmy brothers died within 3 months of each other. Now it’s just me and my sis who is 9 years older. She is my best friend.

Ursala Kitteh is wandering around meowing. She has wet and dry fuds. Maybe she needs to,use the litter box…

In a fit of ennui, I reloaded this video game - Cities Skylines. Ostensibly it is a city management game where you lay down streets, provide utilities and zoning and a city grows right before your eyes (to simple it down ridiculously). But there are these mods you can download for free that add extra building, functionality in building and enhancing creativity and visual upgrades that can make your city look practically photo-realistic - so it changes from a city management tool to a straight up city model building program - think Peytonville, digitally.

(I know there are great number of readers who are already with Cities Skylines, but … there you go)

I’ve spent hours reviewing videos of how-to’s, and what-to’s (best mods and assets), and time-crunched building sessions and I’m fascinated and eager. First of all, just having the game and knowing what can be done with it is kind of like handing me a bucket of paint and saying, “Do the Mona Lisa,” but beyond that I had originally had the game running fine and then I decided I needed another 500 or so new assets to continue. Unfortunately, one of those assets was causing an error - not a fatal one but an irritating one. So my next move was to spend the last two days de-bugging my downloads, subscribing/unsubscribing to assets in blocks and trying to narrow down the offending asset.

Success this morning! I have the game functioning at top performance with all the mods and assets that I want running without a hitch.

Now I can’t even think of how to start a project. Fuck it. I think I’ll play video golf.

Nice! High-fives Kopek from afar. :raised_hand:t2:

Happy Saturday!

It’s a rainy 70 degrees outside.
Supposed to rain most of the day.

I overslept this morning. Probably a combination of rain and a youtube video of calming music to help you sleep.

Nobody but us and Lucy at the park this morning. Lucy has to come to the park because she doesn’t have a fenced in yard and she won’t poop on a leash. We go because my dogs have me very well trained.

I guess nothing will be done on the fence today. I don’t blame them if they don’t come out, although digging that last post hole will certainly be a lot easier today.

No spiders around here, that I know of. Not even pointy stick wielding Sri Lankan ninja spiders. And Nuts, those look more like ticks than spiders. Do y’all have ticks in the UK?

I bought shelf paper, never put it down except in the upstairs linen closet. The shelves are plywood and ugly. My son put the shelf paper in. He didn’t do it as neatly as I would have, but it got done.

Need to do some laundry today.
Also, have to pick a day and sit down and look at my paychecks, because I still can’t figure out how much I am supposed to make.

I’m glad you are feeling better today, Thel.

What is faffy pie, BooFae? Google brings up some… interesting results

Swampy, your talk of Brunswick Stew sent me looking for houses in Brunswick, where I found this gem

The house I like up here is back on the market, at a lower price. Pretty sure there is something wrong with it, big enough that people don’t want to take it on.

I have been known to forget to eat, when I get busy with stuff. Unfortunately, it doesn’t help me to lose weight, because then when I notice how hungry I am, I grab whatever is quick and convenient instead of eating sensibly.

Glad it is just a rogue muscle and nothing too serious Nellie.

I hope your hubby is feeling better soon Butters.
It sucks to not be able to have a fence. One of my requirements for a house is a fenced in yard. I want to be able to open the door and let the dogs out, not be forced to walk them. That and off street parking.

I have to call da jungle this morning. Something wrong with my jungle credit card. Also found out I have an option on my phone for ‘chat bots’. I thought they were mixed in with my text messages and was going crazy trying to figure out how to delete the damn things.

Cute kitties OW.

I guess I should get busy doing something.
Sloth is becoming a habit.

Any interesting spiders stay outside of my house here…if they know what’s good for them…

Morning all, slept in again to 8:15am, heading out in a bit to help with soccer stuff (the fields are closed but the uniform distribution goes on). May mow the lawn later today, the chance of rain is lower today than for the next 2-3 days, so if it’s going to get done…and it’s only going to 88F…

nellie, glad it’s just a muscle and nothing else.

Butters, glad daughter is in town and at least letting you get some irk done.

Sari, you’re saying “Sloth is becoming a habit” like it’s a bad thing…

Jack Bats, I don’t understand a lot of what you’re talking about, but I am all for building cities and spending hours at it. Enjoy.

Thel, sleeping 8 hours is a good thing, Keep feeling better.

And that’s all the energy I have. Need to forage for sustenance and go forth and do things. All y’all take care.

nellie, 1984 will likely be watched later this weekend at CasaRoja.

Glad your neck bump is nothing to worry about nellie .

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted, a load of towels and sheets in the wash and fixing to do KP. Not a lot on the agenda for today, a trip to the dog park if things dry up a bit, remaking the bed and playing in the studio.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!
