I'm Up too Early so May as Well Start the MMP

That was Kopek, trying to smack you upside your head!!

Watch the back pain. It could be kidney-related. If it’s not one thing, it’s another I guess

Happy Firday, everyone!

I was supposed to get a call from the oncologist at 9 a.m. with the results of the ultrasound. 9:45, still no call, so I called his office. His secretary–the very one I spoke to yesterday–said I wasn’t on the schedule. I reminded her that she’d wanted to set up the call for next Tuesday, and I’d asked if she had anything earlier, as I don’t want this hanging over my head that long. She said she had a 9 a.m. open this morning, so I took that and repeated it back to her: “So that’s 9 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, August 28th.” She said “Right.” Turns out she put me down for next Friday. She tried to tell me today it was because there was nothing available before then. She’s obviously confused. Anyway, the doc MAY call me back at the end of the day. We’ll see.

OK, rant over. It was a lovely morning, foggy and cloudy and cool. The sun has burned away the mist, and now it’s sunny and on its way to 80º. I need more fresh fruit so will walk to the store.

Hippie, I’m so sorry about your sister. Damn, that’s a hard loss. You’re in my prayers.

Thel, hope you get to feeling better. One of the tough parts about living alone is having to nurture ourselves when we’re under the weather physically or mentally. Think of the rest of us as nurturing you from afar.

Dot, thinking of you.

Moooom, may the cleaning be smooth and satisfying.

Gotti, diverticulitis is no fun. Are you on medication for it? Do you have to make dietary changes?

OW, what beautiful kitties! I love the photo of Twister (I think) contemplating the shelf and its contents. We know just what’s going on in that feline brain!

Sunny, hope the botox helps. And the answer to your question is obviously “Because they lurvs you!”

You are SO right about this! Thank you.

I don’t really know what to do, but I guess whatever this is, it’s not immediately life-threatening, so I’ll just hope it’s gone or a lot better by tomorrow.

No coughing, no sore throat or stuffy head, sense of smell intact, no fever. Did not throw up. No nausea. I do have a headache and that back pain that is not so much an ache as it is a “kink.” And my stomach feels unsettled. I just feel bad.

I’m sitting here stewing in my own juice. Oddly, this has not precipitated a panic attack.

Two eBay listings so far today. The first is for a Douglas ESCAPAC ejection seat out of an A-7E Corsair II. The other one is a ‘hostess tray’ camera mount for professional filmmaking equipment (like Arri 35BL size). I’ll take some more pics and list a couple of cameras later.

Yes, that’s Twister a/k/a Kitty #2. She wasn’t contemplating the contents of the shelf, she was trying to figure out how to get onto the bookcase because she saw Phoenix up there earlier, but she’s a little smaller and has shorter legs so she couldn’t get there on the first try. She figured it out a day or so later but still hasn’t figured out how to get up to the top shelf – yet.

I’m finding it amusing that at first, neither of them would share a favorite spot with the other. One would be in a spot, the second would approach, and they’d either trade places or the one in the spot would chase the other away. They now share things most of the time, even their food bowls and litterbox - with a few occasional squabbles, of course!

Thank all of you.

My condolences. The last of my three siblings died almost 12 years ago, so I know how you feel.

“If it’s not one thing, it’s two…”

Condolences, longhair75. :frowning:

Mrs. L.A.'s 2010 RAV4 needs a new water pump. She’ll have to drive the Jeep.

Dots, I wonder if you know how glad we are when you post… It makes my day! Many folks here have given you wise words on feeding yourself whatever you like, so I needn’t. As for your kitties, I believe they follow you around because they love you and also want to make sure you’re ok.

(((Hippie))) Loosing someone you love sucks so very much… Praying for you!

Irk was irksome, but I got thru it, and there may be a light at the end of the tunnel… They did fix my schedule for a half day for Sunday, so I can go to the memorial. Got to do a few Pre-Shabbat chores, and then I can relax… Happy Fryday all!

So it’s UPS’s 113 birthday today, so the hub celebrated in grand style by having several people, including my supervisor go home sick, and the sort system go FUBAR. In case the plague is something contagious, I’m sanitizing my innards with some Elijah Craig.

Didn’t work. The safe that had to go in the top rack today was a nice gesture, though. And Phoenix and Twister are da Cute.

OOOOOOOO! Outside my budget. But I did see a company was buying surplus B-52 ejection seats, and turing them into gaming chairs(nothing to bring realism to your WW!! flight simulator like playing in a chair with funk almost as old.)

{{{{hippie}}}} I’m sorry about your sibling

{{{gotti}} hope you get better, quick.

boofae, glad they got the fire contained.

Looooooong day of Roxy wrangling has finally come to an end. Whew!

We went to daughter’s house after nap time. I washed all the shelves and drawers in the cabinets and put shelf liner as far as the roll would go. Plus I put pans of vinegar in the stinky studio, tho I don’t hold out much hope of it accomplishing much.

Daughter painted the baseboard in the living room, then started taping around the windows and doors so she can start painting tomorrow. I don’t know if I’ll go tomorrow - I was going to do some of the outside work, but the remnants of Laura are supposed to hit us. We shall see.

Since I was in that part of town, I got supper from Texas Roadhouse for FCD, Roxy, and me. Then after, we did a lot of coloring, including some on the bathroom wall, rotten kid!!! :stuck_out_tongue: I tried to get her into a bath, and she totally freaked, even when I just wanted to wash her off. I don’t know what’s going on with her, but she needs a real bath soon.

She’s in bed now and I won’t be too far behind. I’s tahred. Not sure what tomorrow will hold - I’ll figure it out in the morning. yawwwnnnnnnn

Made it to Botox 30 minutes late. I apologized to the doctor and he said it was no problem because it was lunch time. That didn’t really make me feel any better. I think the truth is that so many appointments are video that he likes seeing actual people. I’ll tell myself that anyway.

Botox was botox.

OW I love your kitties. Your house matches my imagining what it might, based on Kopek’s description. It’s lovely.

Nellie let me know if the doctor doesn’t call. I think we’ve got some spiders in storage we can send. (Maybe Sari remembers them?)

Sari I hope the fence gets sorted. Fences are a great thing, IMHO.

Doggio take care. Do they let you work in hazmat suits yet?

Thel I can’t believe we let you get 'Thel" instead of “Skip”. :stuck_out_tongue:

“Skip”??

Evening all. The promised storm arrived about 2 hours ago and left, but another band of tunder-boomers is approaching so there will be more rain tonight. It has taken the temperature down to 71F, but supposed to be up to 90F tomorrow. Oh joy.

Not much accomplished beside Sudoku and jumble solving, the lawn really needs mowing but the rain is due to last until next Tuesday, so it may be a jungle out there…

Have read all but retained little, so everybody take care and I’ll catch up tomorrow.

ahem :musical_note:

Skip, skip, skip to my lou, skip, skip, skip to my lou, skip, skip, skip to my, skip to my lou, my darling.

bows

I’d take half the listing price – if you know anyone who’s looking for one.

{{{hipppy}}} Losing a sibling sucks. I can’t imagine losing my last one.

{{{butters and dot and anyone else who wants/needs one}}}

Moooooooom, have you considered turning Roxie loose in the kiddy pool with a bar of Ivory? You might could get her cleaned up under the guise of having fun.

OW, Phoenix and Twister are adorable.

We got the rain from Laura all afternoon and most of the evening so far. I irked until ~2:45 and bugged out, came home long enough to walk Nelson (only cause I walked off this morning without my grocery list and bags) and took off to get groceries. I stopped on the way home to grab a gyro and a Greek salad to go for supper.

I watched the 1954 animated version of Animal Farm once I sat down. I’d forgotten how well done it was. Nelson kept barking at Napoleon and Squealer. :stuck_out_tongue: I guess leaving NPR on for him while I’m at irk has developed his little doggy brain.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Ohhhhhh. Makes sense. :sunglasses:

There’s no A/C in the hub. That would be…unpleasant. We do wear masks
