I'm Up too Early so May as Well Start the MMP

sari, I always thought I would like an open floor plan until I lived with one for 12 years. No place to put a damn thing! When I moved to my current apartment, I lost 90 square feet, but gained a ton of space, given the built ins.

metal mouse, like you, while I appreciate older construction, I don’t want a big place or stairs to deal with. I have better things to do with my time than clean and I’m not getting any younger, so stairs are just right out.

Took Nelson to the dog park where he played for about 20 minutes with his buddies Watson, Jersey and Gracie before we all got caught in a down pour. Other than that, the laundry is done, the bed remade and some organization done in the studio.

Now it’s time to chill.

Margaritas (I think I’m on my 3rd) and leftover fajita salad for dinner.

Did the sort. Did the second sort. Helped finish the second sort on the 200 line. “dogbutler, why do you hit yourself in the head with a hammer?” “Because it feels so good when I stop!” Laura was a non event here, Gordie even went out when I got home. Making some spicy tequila line chicken for dinner, with rice and corn, jalapenos, and tomatoes. And I had a gin and tonic to ward off the scurvy. :tumbler_glass:

All I did after work was laundry, nap and eat. Gordie and Alex did the same, minus the laundry. And the sorting.

[Realtor]And this hovel was originally built in A.D.650, by an old womanman named Dennis. It has some lovely filth out back.[/Realtor]

Glad Hubs is doing better, Butters.

sari, my apartment has the bedrooms on the opposite ends. It’s nice(as are the separate bathrooms.

Flyboy, but what about the rest of the B? :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

My walk wasn’t quite as long as I’d planned because my back started complaining. Don’t know why. On the way home, I passed a neighborhood concert. A woman was sitting on the porch playing guitar and singing (with a mike), and a whole bunch of social distancing people were watching, all wearing masks, as was the performer. I had to turn away, as I started crying. I miss people being neighborly. I miss community spirit. It’s not COVID that’s knocked it out; it’s politics.

 I could cry just reading that. I live in a very neighborhood-y neighborhood, too. That kind of thing could happen here. My social life was no great shakes before, but I miss the pittance that it was.

Still driving it! :stuck_out_tongue:

Here in the Nashville area, our music community has been hit hard by the cancellation of gigs in addition to neighbors not being able to be as neighborly as we did before.

One couple that I know lives in an historical part of east Nashville and their twin daughters perform on the violin, accompanied by their Papa on keys for a backyard neighborhood concert.

Some semi professional musicians are performing backyard concerts, complete with BYOLC (bring your own lawn chair), masks and social distancing and putting a tip jar out. I’ve been to a couple of those and will go to another next Sunday evening.

Still others are doing FB or YT live, complete with Venmo or other payment tipping.

It isn’t the same as going to your favorite watering hole or cafe, but we’re making do with our limitations.

Evening all. Lawn has been mowed interspersed with viewings of “Justice League” (not bad, but not in “Avengers” class IMHO). After a short rest, headed out to do some shopping and finally ate late at Red Robin (Yum!), which had been planned for tomorrow’s main meal. Ah well, I’ll think of something.

Tired and will be getting to bed at a reasonable (not 11:30pm) hour tonight. And oh, got a box of cones for soccer that I ordered–but instead of the 9" tall cones, they sent me a packet of “disc” cones, so the EAYSO folks have received a rather…terse…message from me.

Sari, will have to show you pics of my house one of these days, I think you would like it (but might not care for Ali-bama).

nellie, wish your back would have let you stay a little longer. Don’t see that spirit down here in suburbia-central…

FCM, considering what painters charge, your daughter is saving oodles of cash.

flyboy, good luck with the E-bay sales.

nettie, know what you mean, I have one of those ‘push-button’ starts (your key fob can stay in your pocket) and sometimes I push it and wonder why it doesn’t go…usually because I forgot to put the keys in my pocket…

OK, need to do a couple more things and off to sleepy-bye land. All y’all take care now.

Mine won’t go sometimes because I didn’t have my foot on the brake when I pushed the button. :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks. Fifteen more times what I’ve old already, and I can oay off my credit cards! :stuck_out_tongue:

0 days sober, w00t

Obligatryo drnuk psot.

I"m more sober now, can’t friggin sleep, way too depressed.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 76 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 91 and possible rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon. Or not. We shall see. The big plan of the day is deheathenization (I have ush duty for both services) after which we shall return to da cave to feast upon Brunswick stew and “light” bread. “Light” bread is white bread to you non-southern USAers. 'Tis the proper accompaniment to Brunswick stew.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

FINALLY got to walk again, what with the weather and the wrangling. It was loverly and mid-60s, except for the short stretch where I was hit in the face with the overpowering scent of dryer sheet. blech. Plus my phone died enroute (it was at 12% when I started and 45 minutes or so later, it was dead) so I don’t know exactly how long I walked. Not a huge deal - I just like to know.

Anyway, time now to clear our stuff out of the living room tables so SIL can take them and the furniture to the new house. Laterz!!

Happy Sunday!!!

Morning all. Up before 7am, have rescued the Sunday paper from the lawn and have settled in, since they’re predicting a 80% chance of tunder-boomers today and tomorrow. Do need to run the vacuum about the house, but way to early to contemplate that much activity yet.

Only getting to 87F (hah!).

MG, take care and {{hugs}}

Ok, need to finish waking up and get about life as we know it. Everybody have a good Sunday now.

Afternoon, mumpers! Happy Sunday, everyone  Quiet day here, got no plans so I’m reading the Dope and listening to a replay of last night’s webfest - still seems weird to see a band performing in an empty venue though.

Sari faffy pie is a variation of this: chicken and mushroom filo pie . Last night’s version had chicken, leeks, mushrooms and onion, it’s the scrunched up bits of filo pastry on top that make it such a faff to put together. Blokie has decided he’s less keen on filo so I made it with puff pastry instead to keep him happy.

Right…it’s a day of slothage so I’d better get some lunch (leftover curry) and park myself on the sofa for a few episodes of Harlots

Deheathenized yesterday, Irking half a day today and then going to the Memorial. Irk is irksome… nothing is working. But at least it’s not busy so far,

((((midget))))

Please check in, Dots!

:wave:t2:
Still here, still reading, still pulling for some, cheering for others, smiling where appropriate, and enjoying everyone’s company.

Still struggling a lot and things tend to get kind of long and complicated when I start trying to talk about it. So… still here.

Chillin’ outside after irk today, so I can supervise the kitties bein’ outside for a bit. Monkey needs to stretch his legs & burn off some adolescent energy, and Nikki gets extra cranky without some time outside in the sun and grass. I’m, er, enjoying some grass, too. :sunglasses:

Don’t know how we’ll manage once the snows come. Nikki’s never dealt with the stuff.

That’s weird. ^^ was last night’s post. Guess it’s gonna be one of those days.

Well, g’mornin’ all. I’m heading back to the Salt mine in a minute. At least the weather is nice!
