Impending holidays and stuff in the MMP

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 39 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 78 and N.O.S. for the day. Today is laundry day and the bug man comes at eight o’ clock this mornin’ to do his thang. Sup shall be ham (yanked a small one outta da freezer Sunday evenin’), N.O.T. sallit, green beans, deviled aigs (due to a gnawin’ and a cravin’) and rolls. Oh and I made a lemon meringue pie yestiddy which we shall enjoy today. The meringue is bee-yoo-ti-ful if’n I do say so myself. Lovely peaks, a light golden brown, and little amber beads that would make church ladies everywhere weep for joy.

I read all but retained very little, so yays, boos, hugs, trouts, chitlins, noogies, and how you doin’s all around, as needed,

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I suppose I should make myself somewhat presentable before bug man arrives. So, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

I’m sure something can be worked out…

swampy - lemon meringue is one of FCD’s favorites. My recipe came off a bag of Publix lemons and it’s never failed me. I may have to make one some day soon.

Accuweather says we’ll see 72° today. I have some outdoor chores that need to be done, and so I shall attempt to do them. No need to fetch Roxy today - that’ll my help my productivity.

The boat we’re hoping to buy is named Trinity II. FCD hates that name and he wants another. I suggested Shady Pines, since it’s our retirement, but he wasn’t amused. He said we should name it after the grandkids and I pointed out that taking their initials, we could call it TORF. That rather tickled him. But I’m pretty sure that won’t happen. He wants something kinda nerdy but not too obscure, but he didn’t like Schrödinger’s Boat. We’ve got time to figure it out.

Meanwhile, caffeination continues! Happy Tuesday!

Good morning one and all.

It’s a wet morning, and I’m up at way stupid o’clock again.

Congrats on the boat, FCM; I hope you all get many years of enjoyment out of it.

Bumba, skritches and loves to your pooch.

Well, yesterday was…something. Logged into a deluge of emails and just about all of them presented a problem that needed solving. I got them all taken care of except for one, but I have to rely on some else to fix that. I will continue following up on that one. New issues arose; they always do, but I took care of them and am working on a solution to one which will continue to plague my new MPA until we can find a workable solution. Egos are involved, as well as ensuring customer service is provided to both RD clients and the internal staff. What we have going on right now is not the solution and it’s impeding her ability to do her work, part of which is ensuring we can support state/field staff.

Only today and tomorrow to get through. I can do it!

Sorry to read you’ve been feeling poorly, scareyfaerie. I hope you are feeling right as rain soonest.

nellie, I’m sorry you still have severe itchies. I really hope your insurance company gets off its ass soon and approves. When I was pregnant with my daughter every square inch of itched, including the roof of my mouth and tongue. I couldn’t sleep at all, and started to nod off while driving once. It was NOT A GOOD TIME, so I can really empathize.

… and a very blurf-y morning to y’all!

It’s a chilly but oddly humid dawning of the day here in western Mitten State, which is less than pleasant. The humidity made me sweaty in my sleep, but as soon as I kicked covers off … brrrrr!

I need a shower, and to accomplish something productive before work.

Morning all. Another day in the 70’sF according to the weather wizards, I can manage that. Got a couple of shopping things to do and mail to post, and then maybe clean out my car of all the soccer stuff (as soon as I figure out where to put it). Anyway, pills have been taken so I am properly medicated.

FCM, how about Roxy McTobyface for a boat name??

Good luck dealing with the work Egos, Taters.

boo fae, hope you get to feeling better soon.

So onward into 2sday.

Torf in German means peat. Seems to be a good name for somebody who spends a lot of time in the garden, or is fond of Scottish whisky.

It seems to be national leaf-blowing day. Rather noisy, and it’s one of the few things I do not like about home office.

Guess it’s time to turn up the music! :dancer:

 :joy:  :joy:  :joy:
I’ll pass that suggestion on…

Showered and more or less attired as an adult. The kitchen has been tidied and the household garbage has been gathered to go to the convenience center today. I still need to scoop the cat box, and when it warms a tad more, I’ll go out and start gathering the larger branches that have fallen.

I need to see if I can get the leaf blower blowing. The mulcher/vac is big enough that it can’t get into all the nooks and crannies of the yard, so I need to blow the leaves out of those spots to the larger yard. It’s been a while since we’ve used the blower, so it may be a pain to start. We shall see. Largely an outdoor chore day ahead.

Happy Toosday!

It was 41 degrees at the park this morning. Hardly anybody there.
Supposed to get up to 68 later today.

I didn’t order groceries yesterday so I need to do it this morning.
I just don’t want to.
I really just want to hand everything off to my son, grocery ordering, bill paying, everything. It makes my brain hurt.
damn! Just remembered I forgot to give the dogs their heart worm and flea pills.
Better do that now.

I need to do laundry but that will probably wait until tomorrow.

Congrats on new boat FCM

You’re singing my song.

Survey and sea trial - Nov 23! Here’s hoping for decent weather.

Meanwhile, I’m just back from a run to the convenience center. I had to ask a strong young guy to help me re-fasten the truck bed cover - I don’t seem to have the arm strength to secure the stupid thing. Maddening!! But that chore is done. I shall now venture forth and try to get the blower blowing. Onward!!

Rainy and a bit windy here. Half an inch of rain in the last 24 hours, which we do need. DH is still in bed, I’m apparently nocturnal this week. Plans for today TBD.

Hey everyone. I didn’t drop off the face of the Earth. Been busy binge watching Dexter. I am already on Season 6. Other than that just the same old. Trying to get my house in order. I didn’t make it to the sonny boys house as the weather was too bad to drive in last weekend. Will try again this weekend.

Have not read so hugs to all that need them. I shall return.

The VP of Operations was in today, so naturally Midnight ran over, so we started late, and it was FUBAR. But I don’t have to answer for it. : happy Minion noises :
And no news on “Blueberry” today.

You could do a shoutout to 1980’s punk rock, and call it Seasidal Tendencies

Glad you’re less lurgy, boofae.

Groceries ordered and ready for pickup.
They didn’t have everything I wanted. That is becoming a habit with them.

I forgot to say I almost hit a deer this morning.
I saw it coming and hit the brakes. It spun 90 degrees and ran parallel to the road, then ran across.
I’m glad it spun, there was no way for me to stop in time had it run out in front of me.
That’s all I need, another insurance claim.

There’s a high-wind warning up at home, and the radio was warning of high winds in Seattle too. I was definitely buffeted on the way down. There was a crash in Marysville that backed things up for a few miles, so I was 20-25 minutes later getting into the orifice. About a half hour out, I got a text from Mrs. L.A. that started out, 'Wow, it’s windy

There are three doors fairly near each other in my apartment: the HVAC closet, the bedroom, and the sliding door for the patio. The Princess is fussing at me to open one, but I’ve tried all three and she failed to go through ANY.

Taking a break. I gathered a big pile of branches that need to be cut to length. I started mulching leaves along the outside strip by the road when FCD brought me the info to do the wire transfer of the deposit. So I had to log into our account and set up a chat to do the wire transfer. I double-and-triple checked all the numbers - can’t have our money going to the wrong account.

It’s moving right along.

How about “Unsinkable II?”

Or Never Again II.

I’ve just emailed a vacation request for the day of our holiday party. Nobody else has to take a vacation day because they don’t have to drive 120 miles, but there’s no way I’d get The Missus up at 0-dark-30, ride with me to Seattle, and sit around while I work. So if we’re attending, I have to take vacation.

You are right. That show is just awful. Now that you’ve mentioned it, my husband will remember it exists and want to see it.

Neighbor across the street took down the Halloween decorations and put up the Christmas ones. :woman_facepalming:

I spend too much time embarrassed for humanity.

boofae sorry that illness is lasting so long. I hope you feel better soon.

Moommm congrats on the boat. I also request and require photos. :stuck_out_tongue: Congrats on impending Grandson as well.

I need to get on that. The new show is starting and I want to watch.

Pets are fun that way. These days Pixel is getting anything his little heart desires. I’m a trained seal running through all my tricks until I figure out what he wants.

flyboy my company used to have their parties in SF, and the office was down in Silicon Valley. I lived even further south. I missed most of those parties.

Today I feel like something scraped off a show. The bomb cyclone just killed me. I notice there are a bunch of rocks out in the yard that rolled off the back slope due to the rain. We’re going to have to get the slope landscaped and stabilized. On the one hand, it will be nice to have it done. On the other hand, I’d really prefer not to have to do it right this second.

Tomorrow the house organizers are coming. I want my house to stop looking like I just moved in. I am making progress, but it feel glacial. I’m going to get this done before Thanksgiving, so help me.

Happy Toesday y’all.
