Inauguration Day schadenfreude

The founder of RedState, Erick Erickson, wrote a surprisingly conciliatory post about Obama- essentially “I disagree with the President’s policies and think they’re bad for America, but he really does believe that what he’s doing is helping the country”. So that was cool. But how do the RedState readers respond? With some highly enjoyable schadenfreude. Some gems from the comment section:

And many more.

I do not think that word means what you think it means.

Really? Please educate me.

Wait, there are psychotic right wingers on the internet now?

If you’re taking pleasure in their bilious outrage, then that’s your schadenfreude. But it’s not theirs.

That’s what I thought it was. I may have made a grammatical error; hopefully you can find it within yourself to look past it.

Actually, I was taking pleasure in it.

Then you’re welcome!

Anyway, I think I probably owe you a more straightforward answer. I used to take pleasure in this sort of reaction, but after a while I realized these people are really fucking crazy. These are the same kinds of people who think that guy made up finding the kids in his driveway after Sandy Hook.

I used to laugh at them, but now they just frighten me.

Then that would be schnitzerfreude

I think the two feelings aren’t mutually exclusive.

Looks more like Pissenmönen. Possibly Arschschmerz.

Who’s a good dog?! Who’s a good wittle doggie?! YOU, you’re a goowittledoggie…
Schnauzerfreude

Right now you are down and out, and feeling kind of crappy.
And when I see how sad you are, it kind of makes me happy.

I detest how fucking funny you are.

Damn you!

You say I got a higher score than you because you were bothered all night by strange dreams?

sigmundfreude

Getting joy from the teachers not leaving those kids alone?

pinkfreude

Your ass hurts from sitting in your large Dodge Ram pickup all day?

Ha, I love this. References to Alinsky, radical Marxism, gifts to people, and doubling down on the 47% comments. Those people really don’t want to win another presidential election, do they? I welcome and encourage them to continue believing in their fantasy

Inka-dinka-do!
