Why: Cause it’s a DOPEFEST! Isn’t that enough?

Who wants to attend?

Details:
[li]Probably will be held initially in a park and then move elsewhere. Other activities may follow, e.g. nightclub, museum, shops, movie, orgies (jk) etc?[/li][li]There are a LOT of hotels in town. You shouldn’t have any problem getting a room for the weekend. Most are very reasonable rates.[/li][li]Bring a dish/booze for the park if you can.[/li]
Any takers? If so, let me know if this date is good for you. If there’s enough response I will add more details later.

Scratch this date off! I forgot it was the same weekend as Dopapalooza in Flint, MI.

THIS is CORRECT date June 8,9,10

I HOPE I don’t have to change it again. :wally I know it’s short notice, but that’s the best slot I could come up with.

Weekend of June 15-17 is the local Ethnic Festival. The hotels may be full. No good!

My OP date conflicts with the Dopapalooza. No good!

The weekend of June 29, 30 is no good either. That is the 4th of July weekend. Hotels full, people visiting with families…No good!

No can do for this Doper in the region. Gotta graduation on Friday, baby shower on Saturday.

Oh man, this isn’t good. I bet all the other will have same problem??? It’s that time of year. I picked a lousy time to throw a dopefest.

I probably should just find a way to go to Dopapalooza

You know, you may be better off trying to schedule this for later in July or perhaps early August. The weekend of June 8, 9 and 10 is no good for me either. I’m already scheduled to work every night that whole weekend. The weekend of July 13, 14 and 15 or the weekend of July 27, 28 and 29 would be much better for me.

Yeah, MSK, I think Shadowfox is right. I’d imagine a lot of people who are willing and able to travel are dedicating resources to Dopapalooza, which has been in the works for some time. I can’t speak for everyone, but making two trips in one month isn’t possible for me (this would be true even if I didn’t have conflicts).

I think setting up another Doper gathering at the same approximate time in the same approximate region is going to doom turnout.
