Well, I seem to not be the only relatively new person on the board, so I figured I’d post something like this up here for us to be silly in.
What do you want to know about other dopers, and who?
Myself, I’d like to know things about all kinds of people, including where to find pictures/homepages/whatever, how old you are, where you’re from (and who’s in the NYC area, anyway, so I know who’s near me?). In particular - Gawd, Singledad, DB, Notthemama, and anyone else who wants to answer.
Aw, but that’s no fun! That’s what they put out there for everyone. It’s much more fun to have people talk about themselves in an interactive sense than just to grab it from places.

I want people to be willing to TALK about themselves. For example, your contribution means I can start asking you questions - like… have you found a job yet? What have you done lately? What’s Tahoe really like?
That sort of thing… it was meant as an invite to conversation, not just a request-for-info.
Okay, if it’s a “how mundane are you being right now”, then I can win this one. Slouching at home on a Wednesday night watching the end of Barcelona vs Valencia on the TV, wondering about getting my washing out of the machine to hang up.

How 'bout if I just spill the beans about some of the New Yorkers; would you find that helpful?
Ukulele Ike - He’s really a Caribbean pirate and comes complete with peg leg and parrot. The U.S. Coast Guard took his sword away from him though, so he’s pretty harmless. Arghhhhh, matey.
Manhattan - His true name is Manny Peoples. He sleeps at a bus terminal under the men’s room sink and spends his day filling his wobbly-wheeled shopping cart with pointed objects and dead ppgeons. Rudy Guliani is his uncle.
Eve - Eve’s nom de guerre is Flora McFlimsey and believes in past lifes she was Lucretia Borgia, Ellery Queen, Gaius Galerius Valerius Maximianus and Zona Gale. No one has yet had the heart to tell her that Ellery Queen is a fictional character.
SaxFace - Although SaxFace is very female (and extant), she is the true-life model of the Simpson’s character Bleeding Gums Murphy. You can often see her shooting nine-ball on the professional women’s tour shown on ESPN. When she’s sober that is.
I’ll search my archives and see what else I can come up with about the NYC’ers.
Nice to meetcha. I’m pretty new here, just trying to keep from pissing too many people off, and reading lots 'o good stuff. Work is good, (no, really) I mostly tinker with supercomputers.
Right now I’m looking at the latest processor technology which is as yet not released, new OSs and new memory due to come out soon (for Intel based machines). Can you say “Geek”? Gotta have a drink some time soon though…
