It depends. In my experience with age, you only care if someone likes you if they are important to you or you respect them. If your boss doesn’t like you, thats a problem. If a coworker you rarely see doesn’t like you it doesn’t matter.
There are certain people you want to dislike you. You have the mentality of ‘if that person liked or approved of me, I’d probably be doing something wrong’. You don’t try to piss them off, but you realize that them not liking you is a badge of honor. The KKK doesn’t like civil rights activists for example. I doubt the activists lose sleep over it.
