So I ordered this series on the basis of the good reviews season 2 has been getting in SFX (British SF mag) and it arrived yesterday due to a change in release dates. Now, I meant to (when I thought it was going to arrive February) post a thread finding out what dopers thought of it so I would have a chance to cancel but barring that what now? Should it be kept or shall I send it back and invest in The Dead Zone.
You probably won’t find too many people here that will reply. I started a thread about the show a few months ago and didn’t get any responses.
Guess most here have’nt seen it, which is a pity, because I LOVE it. For the past two years it has been the only show I keep in mind not to miss. It has an interesting premise, great characters, and since it is on a specialty cable station, they can do and say things many shows wouldn’t dream of. They live in a dangerous world and have had to make some hard desicions.
I just watched the last episode of the second season, and am sad to see it end. I don’t know if it will be continued.
I think I may order the boxed set when I have the money.
I wonder if the graphic novels that it is based on have been translated to English?
I’m really really really enjoying the second season but I thought the first season was absolutely horrible. Out of the 20 episodes, in the first season, only 5-7 episodes (Long Road, Man of Iron, Tripwire, Firewall, Things Left Unsaid) are anywhere near enjoyable. Especially the first few episodes are dreadful but it picks up speed near the end (not unlike the first season of B5).
Wrong button, Addendum: Having said all that, I will be picking up the first season DVD because those 5-7 episodes are enjoyable and I am enjoying the show as a whole and I urge more people to watch it.
I think it is a good series, but not amazing like Straczynski’s previous show Babylon 5. Unfortunately, due to stupid interference from corporate suites , Straczynski is not going to write for the third season (if there even is one).
Well, you know, as bullfrogs go, Jeremiah was a good friend of mine…
