It's a 99 Party MMP!

Spaz, my Scion xB came standard with cruise control and it’s a 5 speed. Although, I didn’t know that it only worked in 5th gear, but I guess that makes sense.

I want a housemaid too, Dotty!!! Can you email me one?
I just got off the phone with one of my clients. Her budget has dropped this year and she’s only got about $7 per person to spend (as opposed to the usual $10). Also, she was asking me about billing stuff. Apparently at the end of 2007 she had to come up with $300 out of pocket because of billing discrepancies. She didn’t find any with me, but she did with the sandwich shop that she uses. For instance, they would give her a bill for, say, $50.00 and then later on charge her another $10 for gas without her knowledge. She said it seemed kind of shady. It sounds kind of obvious to me, then, that she just needs to quit using them and use me all the time! Of course, as of right now that’s not possible because they are lower priced than I am. So I’m thinking of buying a slicer (eek) and coming up with my own sandwich menu.

It’s just about naptime here. I’m going out with some friends to thelocal dinner theatre. The Odd Couple is playing. It’s alot of fun, but it’s also an all-night affair. The doors open at 5:30 and the show itself doesn’t even start until 8 p.m. and usually doesn’t get out until 10:30 or 11:00.

hi
too much to catch up on
Teh Sick will not go away entirely, but I am at work
yay for New Nat
c’est tout

Yay for new babies and boo for the assorted sicks, hangovers, stubbed toes and whatever else.

Yesterday was another trip to Dr. Drillanfil. Another big mercury-based filling is gone. I’m not one of those people that’s on a crusade to eliminate every atom of mercury from the world - heck, I played with the stuff in my hands as a kid - but it can’t be a bad thing to get foreign metal out of the body and replace it with something inert.

The downside is I feel like I’ve been in a boxing ring and took several jabs to the jaw - my TMJ is really peeved, and the tooth itself is annoyed as well.

After more than a month of phone calls, my health insurance is finally set right and I’m back to my long-term primary care provider. It’s amazing how stubborn and slow-acting insurance companies, PPOs and HMOs can be. First they said he wasn’t taking new patients. So what? I’ve been seeing him for nine years and I know his home address! Then they say his office is too far from my home. By their rules, he lives too far from his office as well. Happily, when I said my office was two miles away, they finally relented. It just should not be so hard to keep a doctor!

I found the neatest idea for decorating walls:

I’ve been reluctant to take down the Christmas decorations over our bookcase because the wall looked so bare before … maybe I’ll get one of these.

We got over an inch of lovely, pretty snow – HUGE fluffy flakes were falling – before it stopped snowing, and now there’s some kind of half-frozen YUCK falling from the sky. It’s several degrees above freezing, so it’s not going to turn to ice – here, at least; Papa Tigs is on his way home, and I hope that he’s able to avoid ice en route – but it’s still totally just YUCK. Isaac is doomed to disappointment this afternoon if he thinks I’m going to go sit out in the 35° falling YUCK to throw his Kong!

What today really is inspiring me to do is just go crawl back into bed and stay there. It’s so grey and gloomy and I don’t have any work that needs to be done urgently and I just have zero motivation. Is it bedtime yet?

35F and wet is not a fun combination. Poor Isaac! Not that I blame you for not wanting to go out in it.

Welcome Nathaniel!!! Hugs to all the Lissars!! MWAH!

Get-well wishes to all you sickies. I’m about over my bout of poison ivy - almost no itchies and shrinking welts, so yay!

I’ve had several manual vehicles with cruise and it never mattered what gear I was in as long as I was going over 25MPH. I don’t believe the cruise control has any connection to the transmission as far as monitoring what gear you’re in. Still, it’s not normal to cruise around in the lower gears, is it? Not for me.

There’s slushy snow on the ground and rain falling. Stoopit Bernie went walk-about in all that mess, although she didn’t leave the yard - she did come back all wet and ick. **FCD ** left work about 30 minutes late, and he said they hadn’t cleared the roads there at Goddard - who knows what he’ll encounter on the way home?

<insert almost an hour lapse here>

I’ve got a double pot of bean soup cooking, and I had to pause to chop the veggies and the ham. It’s now in the simmer-for-75-minutes phase, after which I toss in the carrots and celery. Or maybe I’ll toss them in after an hour. Whatevah… Bean soup for supper!

If I had anything else to share, I’ve forgotten what it was. So I’ll post now and see what else occurs to me later.

Yay **LiLi **and Mr. Lissar and baby Nat!

KeithT finished painting the trim in our bedroom-to-be last night so I’ll go over to the new house tonight to help with the rolling on the main parts of the walls. I can do that without creating a mess! Then we have to clean up the mess that we (mostly I) made on the trim. Hopefully the bathrooms will be easier without the knock-down walls.

And I got a bunch of kitchen stuff packed up last night so I’ll take that over tonight. There’s still a lot to pack but we need some of it to live normally for the next week and a half so it’ll have to get packed last minute.

I’m doing soup for dindin tonight too, FCM. But not beans 'cause I don’t like beans. (That’s the BEST part of being a grownup - not having to eat stuff you don’t like!) I’m making a veggie & (ground) beef soup. It’s teh YUM! :stuck_out_tongue:

Computer problems have made work interesting today. One of the servers went down twice, making it really hard to get anything done. But we all had fun hanging out and bitching about it.

I LOVE Teh Kitteh one.

Where’s li-li when we need her to bleach the MMP??? Get better all you sickies!

This is the one you should get.

eta:

GMTA!

Did you notice that the kitty one sold out today??? Coincidence? I think not. Those are really nice graphics.

Yeah, I figured it had gotten to a point where it had either been a C-section or there had been complications and really wanted to know how things were . I’m just glad Driving Husband responded… I’m hoping for pictures really really soon.

Congrats on the new job, Dotty! And sorry for the sinuses. Hope both you and HRH feel better soon.

Wow, that sounds like quite a runaround for a doctor, gotti. Glad it worked out.

I’m really tired. I think I need to take a nap before doing anything else…

GT

We had chocolate cake! Want some? :passes cake through CD drive: It’s chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream frosting and raspberry filling. Not too shabby for Safeway.

My meetings have come undone! Client commitments always supersede HR, which is as it should be, but it’s still frustrating.

As usual, bean soup was yummerrific! And I made a huge batch, so a bunch will be frozen. Not tonight, tho, probably not till tomorrow. I still have to build our breakfasts and lunches for tomorrow. Rumor has it we’re going to get 59 minutes tomorrow, so yay for a slightly longer long weekend!

Looks like my poor sweetie will have to bring home work over the weekend, but I’m planning to start disassembling the blue bathroom. There’s a lot I can do before the heavy stuff needs to be done - no way I’m taking out the toilet and tub, but I can get the cabinets and fixtures out. The only problem will be lights. The current lights are part of the medicine cabinet, but there’s a plug, so we can rig up some kind of work light.

Other exciting plans include a run to the convenience center, weather permitting. Oh yes, we do whoop it up. Party on. Whooooo.

Papa Tigs has been struggling with TiVo problems – the remote is going, plus it’s never gotten along well with our FIOS box. We had to completely disconnect it a few days ago until he could get a signal booster, which he finally got today. So he spent most of dinner-preparing time on the phone with them, yet again, figuring out how to get it all hooked up right, which meant pizza for supper as a result. Now, of course, there’s a cable that needs replacing, and if that fixes the rest of the problems, he’ll replace the remote (I guess TiVo remotes go often because they only charge $40 for them!). And if all that fails, we’ll say the heck with the remaining year of TiVo service and go get a FIOS DVR. We’ve both been really spoiled by the “Pause” and the 8-second rewind buttons on the TiVo, though; it’s been hard to go back to watching TV without them!

Anyway, late this afternoon I got a super-SUPER rush job that’s due tomorrow as soon as I can get it done, so it’s the salt mines for me this evening. Work has been so light lately that I need to do stuff like this. At least it’s started off well enough that if I don’t goof off and watch TV this evening, I should be able to get to bed at a decent hour and still get it done in plenty of time tomorrow. So a hearty MWAH! to all you Mumpers, and I’m off to slave away for the evening!

ETA: FCM, are you sure you don’t want to keep that bee-YOO-tiful sink in the blue bathroom? That’s practically a work of art, it’s so frightful! You really need to post pictures of it, you know, so everyone can appreciate the sacrifice you’re making getting rid of it!

Another update. I feel that this is all I’m posting about lately, and I apologize.

I finally feel like we are making more headway here!

Ma got a call back this evening from the Officer in C. County where the case was transferred. I feel like we are making progress!

Tomorrow the Bastard will be served with the restraining order and he will be interrogated for what he did to Jules. This is great news, considering that they still do not have the paperwork from P. County, other than what the Victim’s advocate group sent to them when the case was transferred.

The officer is having everyone step up the investigation on the other case against the Bastard and hopes to have him behind bars no later than next week. That is still too long in my opinion, but it’s better than nothing. I have a feeling that if P. County was still handling the investigation we wouldn’t be even close to this far.

Progress is being made. I can’t tell you how wonderful that feels.
Congrats LiLi and Mr. Lissar on baby Nat!!! I can’t wait to see pics!

Yays, boos, hugs, all around. Take what you need.

OK, OK, MamaTigs, I get your meaning. You can have the sink. I’ll even deliver - heck, any excuse to go to Annapolis…

Food packed. Dishwasher loaded and rinsed. Leftover soup in the fridge. This has been a busy evening. C’mon 3-day weekend!!!

Today feels like a Friday. Why isn’t it Friday?

This has been a long week…still at work. Bugger.

Congrats on your new sink BioTigs! :stuck_out_tongue:

Howdy Y’all! Home from another day of inshurnce. Ok, been home for a while just now gettin’ around to catchin’ up. I didn’t write any policy today. I did other stuff instead to get ready for new folks startin’ next week. That place is gonna have around five hunnert people workin’ in it within the next five to six months. It’ll be wild, I tells ya!

Puggy my No Snow signs are still workin’ too. There were snow flurries and some ice in north Jawja last night but the snow line is holdin’ up around here!

It’s cold, damp and misty outside. Just enough to be ick to be out in. At least the wind has died down.

Hugs, boos, yays, get wells all around as needed.

Later Y’all!

Tonight was not very good.

Everything was going along fine until (for no apparent reason) I started crying at the beginning of the third act. I felt stupid sitting there crying during a comedy so I got up and left before the play was over. I hate this.

All right, all right, I didn’t post for a day and there is no way I’m going to read all that I missed. I see we have a new MMPer:

Welcome Nathaniel!

Hope recovery is smooth for all.
And may I add that one reason #2 son is Johnathan is because I wanted Nathaniel and The Husband wanted John…
Have to work AGAIN tomorrow–and today I got reamed another one by this bitchy lady in the waiting room. Sick people are so crabby…
