It's a 99 Party MMP!

FCM, you could do what I do under such circumstances – shower and then put on PJs and a robe. Why get dressed if you’re not going anywhere?

Oh, and also, what an adorable baby! Awwwwwww!

Hm. It’s really weird you say that, because I felt abruptly drunk after my third drink, which I had left on a table while I went outside to smoke. :dubious: It could just be a coincidence though.

I mean, I guess it doesn’t matter now, but I suppose I should be more careful about leaving my drinks lying around unattended at a bar. :smack:

Not to beat a dead horse, but the irony of it all is that I think that the reason that he’s spending so much time with me is because of the fit that I had on our anniversary about feeling like I was part of the scenery. Now, when I’m here, he’s with me 24/7. If I sleep, he sleeps. If I’m sitting on the loveseat, he’s sitting on the couch, etc., etc…

Is it too much to want a happy medium?

Let me state very clearly that I do love him, very much. But sometimes… And it doesn’t help at all with me being so damn emotional, about everything.

Ok, I’m done with my mini-rant.

I hear you. All of my past relationships have tended towards one extreme or the other (guy taking me for granted vs guy always wanting to be with me). I guess happy mediums are the hardest to achieve for most of us.

Well, I’m showered and dressed in sweats. We just finished chickie and veggies. Laundry is done. Airplane is on TV. I need a nap. Or chocolate. Or both.

Breakfasted and cafiennated!

Off to get the towels into the washer and dry the sheets!

Sorry for everyone that is cold it is a balmy 58 degrees here in CA!

Haze the reason I mentioned it was the night it happened to me I had only had 2 drinks and I was out of control. I have no recollection fo getting home only that I was home and I woke up the next morning feeling fine. I had also left my drink unattended. It may not have been the case with you but please take care of yourself lady!

Libby the crazy kitty is taking a nap in the sunny spot on the back of the couch - I wish I was doing the same!

I am off to tackle the kitchen I may be gone a while!

The problem with happy mediums is that they all seem to have been designed by the same dude who make clothes… hard to find one that really fits, you know?
Been watching 300, which I missed in theaters, and you know what… the perfect dentistry (although I think Leonidas may have a filling) or the speeches about defending Reason (like Spartans cared much for that one), I could overlook. But I had no idea that ancient Greeks were into whole-body waxing! Who would’a thought?

And don’t you post again until toilet paperage has been achieved young lady! :stuck_out_tongue:

Big news from da cave… I set two mousetraps last night and just now caught a mousie in one of 'em. Bye bye mouse. Critters of the mice and roach persuasion are not allowed in da cave. Them’s the rules and if’n they get violated, those that violate must die.

Oh and the taco soup was tres nummy!

Nap Time!

Well, I’m currently in comfy jersey pants and a robe because this is a “I refuse to get dressed and go anywhere to do anything” day, but Papa Tigs has his marching orders. And since he’s the one who goes through at least 75% of the TP – seriously, what is it about men and toilet paper? – he’s the one gonna be in trouble if he doesn’t get more! He’s currently walking the Idiots, it being too cold out to go stand in one spot and throw the ball across the school yard, but when they get back I’m sure he’s going to go shopping. We need several other things.

But the new dog beds are a success – with Rusty, at least. Isaac is still quite unsure; he’s just been going back to his old standby, the couch. But the old beds have been removed from the premises, so it’s the new ones or nothing! Stoopid dog, the old beds were squashed down to about 1" thick, while the new ones are a nice fluffy 6", but does that please him? Nooo, of course not!

Her Majesty, however, approves of my new pillows. She spent all day yesterday sleeping curled up in the exact center of them, while shedding as much hair as she possibly could. Seriously, she shed at least a week’s worth in one afternoon! So today the pillows are covered with an old flannel sheet, which also pleases her. What, me spoil my pets? Would I do a thing like that? :dubious:

Back to doing…not very damn much.

Just talked to my baby on the phone, and I feel better. She and her sweetie had done a Bed, Bath and Beyond registry, and when I looked at it, I almost dropped my teeth. 4-piece place setting of china - $79.99  Wine glasses - $29.99 each  Veggie bowl - $63.99  Crystal bud vase - $49.99

Turns out, they just went thru a catalog that had no prices and picked out things they liked, not knowing how insane they were being. :stuck_out_tongue: She really doesn’t want china or crystal, and she said she intends to prune the registry before she makes it known that it’s available. And most of the items they selected are reasonable - your basic toaster oven, blender, coffee maker, sheets, towels, stuff like that. I was just relieved to know that they’re not turning into materialistic little snots.

Mostly, she and I talked about her upcoming job fair. She’s really excited. We were discussing her interview suit and what she should get. And she said there has been lots of emphasis in classes about dressing properly for the interview, so she’s got the right frame of mind about that.

Me, I just hope she gets a good school near us. And that she doesn’t have to deal with too many poophead parents. What more could a mother wish for her child??

Wound up running a bunch of errands after mass. Went to Target and to Bed, Bath, & Beyond (although I failed to buy $29.99 wineglasses). I did, however, find a teeny-tiny speaker to plug into my laptop. Just about the only complaint about this thing is that the speakers are extremely wimpy. I’ve thought about getting speakers to hook it up to or about getting an adapter so that I can hook it up to the speakers from my old boom box (might still do that). Just happened to see something very much like this for $5.00 at BBB; figured it was worth the enormous financial risk. And…it’s just enough to make the sound level acceptable (and to occasionally make me have to turn the sound down). I even got a coupon for 50 free songs from e-music. Woo hoo!!!

Back to organizing and cleaning. Now with background music.

Lunch is et - I wasn’t feeling very ‘sammichy’ so I had a baked potato with tuna, mayo and sweetcorn. It was yummy.

Kitchen and dining room are sparkling. I even dusted on top of the cupboards, light fixtures, vacuum and mopped all the tile including the entryway and laudry room.

Next on the list is dusting and vacuum the living room and bedrooms and then if I have the energy clean my bathroom.

Next weekend is going to be Organisation 101. I need to go through my wardrobes desperately and get a bunch of stuff ready for goodwill.

Lunch was unsatisfying and didn’t stay with me. I’m about to throw together something supper-like. What I want is a pizza. But it’s too damned cold to fetch one, no one delivers to our corner of the boonies, and it’s not in keeping with our stoopit healthy eating approach. So sallit it is. <sigh>

We have made our reservations for a trip we’re taking in July next summer – to a big Native American Pow Wow up in Hayward, Wisconsin. Yay! Papa Tigs’ former boss is Chippewa from a medicine family, and invited us to attend. It looks like it’ll be amazing – definitely an experience like none I’ve had before! So we’re very happy. We found a cute little place to stay with our own balcony overlooking the river (which we’ll share with the mosquitos and deer ticks, I’m sure), and we’re going to fly into Milwaukee and take a leisurely drive through northern Wisconsin to get there, since it’s someplace I’ve never seen. So I am very excited! GT, you can put me down for the MMP for July 28, if you’d like.

Apparently spilling a half a bottle of tea tree oil on one’s keyboard does no damage, I’m pleased to report. Isaac actually snapped at me when I went to look at one of his ears, which is chronically gunky, so after I put him on his back and persuaded him that I am indeed his pack leader whether he likes it or not, he came in very meekly to let me clean his ears – swapping his outer ear with tea tree oil really helps knock back the yeast that wants to grow there. But I managed to knock the bottle over onto my keyboard, and from there onto the floor; my office smells so tea tree oily it’s nearly nauseating. I suspect I won’t be online much for the next few hours till it dissipates!

Off to eat din-din. Later, gators!

Da cave is all spiffed up. YAY!!! I rewarded myself by goin’ and gettin’ some sesame chicken and an aigroll from the Chinese place down the road from me. They didn’t put in a fortune cookie. :frowning:

So, has PapaTigs gone to get that toilet paper yet? :dubious:

Oh goody - more football. It’s waaaaay too cold there to be outside. Football fans are weird.

My sallit was good. The accompanying egg sallit was too salty, but not inedible. So I guess I’m good to go now.

I just took the doggies out - doggone, is it frigid out there! I was smart this time, tho - I went out with Bernie on her lead. No more chasing her into the woods. Stoopit dog. But as brisk as it was, they both just squatted, then headed back for the house. Hope it’s the last trip for the night. Right.

I’m about ready for sleepytime, but I’ll hold out till at least 8. My tummy is well settled, so I don’t expect that to keep me up tonight. I’m thinking it might be a melatonin night. Eventually.

Honest, this is the last of that particular dead horse for the day…

I guess it makes more sense now to know that this is the first time that he’s seen her in about 16 years. I’ve got a sort of monumental ex like that. It would probably affect me the same way too.

Enough of that already!

I’m back home now. I stopped by my competition to buy some subs for dinner. They were pretty good. I can see the appeal, one sub for $5.69 could be cut into 3 or 4 pieces. Ok, off to work on my masterpiece menu.

I seriously need to do some grocery shopping. I guess I’ll go tomorrow. What to eat until then, though? Hmmm.

Quick drop-in while Mr. Lissar holds the kid- hello! I’m told it’s fricking cold here, but it doesn’t affect me at all. Hah. I’m and indoors person for the next few days still.
Haze I suggest ramen and pizza. Pretend you’re a student again instead of a teacher.
Weird thing for the day- it’s surprising how much milk engorgement is not a joke. Huh.

My house is totally clean and spiffy. My kitchen would pass even the most stringent of Health Inspections!

I have had a shower and I am going to order pizza for dinner as the chicken is still not thawed out and I can’t be bothered to wait on it and then cook it.

I have had a shower and I have just sorted out all my boarding passes from my vacation last year to submit for my vacation allowance which I HAVE to submit this week or else I lose it!

I like having a clean house - I don’t have that anxious feeling in my tummy any more.

I just realised I haven’t left the house today
