It's a 99 Party MMP!

Waitaminute…!!! who holds a scheduled wedding at Gretna Green!?

Who schedules a wedding on Monday afternoon?? Even the fabulously wealthy and famous work Monday, don’t they?

What do I know - I’m a gov’t peon. And come to think of it, I’m not working Monday. Loves me them Federal holidays.

I slurped down some Bigelow’s Lemon Lift tea in lieu of my usual morning Diet Coke. I’m hungry, and I don’t know if I’m going to wait for **FCD ** to arise before breakfasting or if I’ll grab something and let him do the same when he comes forth… Since I’m starting to get my need-food headache, at the very least, I’ll grab a hunk o’cheese. Decisions, decisions…

SiL-who-is-my-Doc claims there is no such thing as “need-food headaches,” even when confronted with a roomful of people who get them. Do you think the notion will carry more weight if it comes from a Gummint Officer, FCM?

Um…this makes no sense to me at all, Pie:

I suffered through (and if I had it to do again, I’d never have put up with it–ah, to have self-esteem in one’s teens and twenties, what a marvelous thing that would have been…) many a story of Sarah and how she broke The (now) Husband’s heart; how great she was, how much he felt for her, how much fun they had. Looking back (not now, but even a few years into the dating), it was obvious he wasn’t over her. Not saying your circumstances are like mine were, just relating a story.

I am painting today–off to start soon.

BooFae–if the wedding is all planned and all (even if it in Gretna Green), can they at least get married over an anvil? Please don’t shatter my delusions of what Jolly Olde England is like. (in this case, Jolly Olde Scotland).

up and off to work again.

Well, of course, Nava! Would I lie?? Would this face lie?!?!?

It took me a while to figure it out, but when my body is craving protein, I get a headache. It doesn’t take a much to deal with it - a small hunk of cheese will do it. Your SiL can say and believe whatever she wants, but I know my body, and I definitely get hunger headaches.

The sun is shining, but it’s still *coooooooooooold * out there. We’ve breakfasted. I’ve got a load in the washer. I’ve decided to roast the chicken for dinner. Such is the excitement of my Sunday morning.

No kidding. Stoopid snow.

Haze, the part where they soaked the muffins in butter gave me a heart attack. Just doing the tops sounds much better.

SIL-who-is-your-Doc better not get around me when I have one of those headaches. I start biting heads off.

Interesting moment last night: while Complicated Roommate was rebuilding my computer, Twatt (the Canadian welfare queen bitch) called. They had a brief conversation. I told him when he hung up that she’s got him whipped. “No she doesn’t!” he snapped. Okay, let’s see the signs:

  1. Does not sound all happy to hear her. Sounds more like he’s fulfilling an obligation when he returns her calls.
  2. Stories of her drama over Christmas (one instance where she threw the engagement ring at him).
  3. A couple of nights ago he told me he didn’t know if they were still together or not.
  4. She got very defensive when he ran across a couple of unknown numbers on her cell when he was trying to call someone.
  5. She is Just. Like. His. Schizo. Mother. Who. Abused. Him.
  6. He’s with her because he likes her kids. Sounds to me like he prefers the kids to her.

I predict a long, fulfilling life together for them.

Anyway, I need to go wake him up so he can drive me upstate to pick up my shiny new car. And I need to watch my new yoga DVD so I can start stretchin’ along with it. Spaz needs to start working out regularly again.

Add me to the list of people to get I NEED FOOD NOW headaches. It is seriously not a pretty thing.

rigs, yep, I guess that sentence didn’t really make sense. I go home on Sunday evenings now because I have to be at work on Monday mornings at 7 a.m. and I don’t want to wake up Monday morning to a surprise blizzard. It’s an hour drive from Warren to Akron on a good day. Formerly, two of my employees would be there on Monday mornings, but now one of them only works on Tuesdays and Thursdays. So I have to make sure that I am there to start the early morning kitchen craziness. As to your other comments about your Husband’s ex… Well, I can’t say 100% whether he is over her or not, but I think that he is. And, it seems that she is over him as well. I guess the thing is that he spends quite a bit of time talking about all of his 5,263 exes and it just tends to get a bit excessive. Jealousy doesn’t usually seem to be one of my issues. I just figure if the person that I am with wants to be with someone else that they should just go do it and spare me the misery.

Just got back up from a short nap and am going to start compiling my Sam’s Club and GFS lists. Fun! Fun! Fun!

ETA: Poor DB, had to go to work today. :frowning:

Keep in mind that The (now) Husband did his talking about Sarah (pity–tis a pretty name) when he was 17-18-19. If **TV’**s stories are amusing to you–go for it!

The staying over makes much more sense now.

I might try to make those “muffins” soon(next week). Dipping a bread product in melted butter just seems wrong to me. One dips lobster or crab in clarified butter, but…

Good chilly morning, everyone. Weather.com tells me it’s 4 degrees Amurkin outside and feels like -11. (That would be -16 and -24, respectively, in those nice furrin degrees.  ) Someday I’ll get around to connecting up the thermometer that tells me the temperature right here.

I had the same thought about Gretna Green, SO.

Sorry you didn’t sleep well, FCM. I woke up at 5:30, but was able to fall asleep again until almost 8.

SIL sometimes need to be whapped upside the head, doesn’t she? I don’t believe that requires governmental authority.

The obvious solution, Roo, is to get a Mac! :stuck_out_tongue: Since I got the iBook and discovered GTD, I haven’t looked around much for PC software. I’ve focused more on David Allen’s methodology and usefulness in my life and was just glad there wasn’t too much fluff. I’m due for a re-read and will look for tone. I normally go for a more manageable maintenance approach, over at 43 folders (here’s the link to their Getting Started with GTD page that has tons of resources, including this one, which summarizes GTD really well. These resources are Mac-oriented when they’re computer-based. I haven’t successfully implemented much of this yet, but am going in baby steps. Somewhere, a GTD plug-in for Outlook is mentioned (I think in the 43 folders post). Also, if you Google gtd resources, you get lots of results - there’s probably something PC based in there and there may be something similar to the Omni products there…

Wow…that was way longer than intended…need to go get ready for church…

::Waves to everyone::

Back eventually…

GT

Hmmm… the arsonist and pastor were denied bond at a hearing yesterday. This is front page news in this morning’s newspaper. I want to know more. A good scandal can keep a body warm on a cold day, after all. I also learned that bond hearings are scheduled every day of the week except Sunday. Who knew! OK, the folks that do it already knew, but I didn’t.

We’re all dressed and purtified for churchification and will leave shortly. It’s sunny and cold out today. Looks like around midweek it’ll be low 70s and rainy. So we go from cold and rainy to warmish and rainy. Oh well, as long as the rainy happens and helps with the drought, I’m good.

Speaking of hunger, although I’ve breakfasted, the smell of the taco soup slowly warming in the slow cooker, is making me hungry all over. It smells so good. I do believe it will be one of my better efforts. Speaking of taco soup, the recipe I linked to yesterday is the one I use but I don’t cook the olives in with the soup. I like to use 'em as a garnish instead. I use both green and black olives cause I likes both of 'em a lot.

Ok, off shortly to get all desinned. Later Y’all!

Good luck with that. :stuck_out_tongue:

In my case it’s the salt… don’t get me started on people who cook without salt because “it’s bad for blood pressure.” It’s only bad for people who have it high!

SpazCat, you just gave hairballs a new meaning.

Swampie, it doesn’t need to be an arson-related scandal to keep one warm, does it?

Up, and breakfasting/caffienating. Forecastfox is saying it’s currently -15 with a wind chill of -26. Thats Amurkin, but any temp with a minus in front of it is BBBRRRRRRRRR! Off to the folks’ soon for Dad’s b-day dinner. We got him this hat. He’s wanted one of those for a long time. Just in time for the playoff game. (I despise football)

Swampy I have got to try that soup. I’m not the cook Hubby was, but soups I can do well.

I get food headaches as well. In my case, it’s from low blood sugar.

Weirdest thing, I could not connect to the internet at all last night. My wireless network was up and working but I kept getting the blank white page.

Up, and about to caffeinate but needed to catch up here first. I know, it’s late, but I was up past three watching The Godfather.

I did some reading on Scarlett’s virus, and it said depression and loss of appetite are common while she fights it, which actually cheered me up knowing the loss of appetite is expected. Apparently her congestion means she can’t smell her food, so she won’t eat. Makes sense because she keeps going to the food dish but just stares. Now, I’ve dealt with cats with appetite issues before, so off I ran to Target to get a turkey baster and some canned kitten food (more calorie/nutrient packed).

I mushed up some food with water and forced her to eat. Instant energy. She spent the rest of the night out with us, letting us pet her and rub her tummy instead of hiding under the bed like she has been, Messy, but effective.

**MBG ** - you’re such a good kitty-daddy!

Third and last load of clothes in the dryer- I’ll do some more tomorrow. There’s a chickie roasting in the oven, and the house smells chickie-licious. Dinner will be in an hour or so. The kitchen is more or less clean, too. I removed and cleaned the bottom stove drawer, and swept the floor under the stove while the cavity was open. Then I stacked all the pans back in the drawer so they took up minimal space. No idea why - it just seemed like a good idea at the time.

I’m still in my robe - should I shower and dress? If I’m not going out, why bother? I don’t stink. Really, I don’t.

I wore a sweater and a coat over it. :: defensively :: :stuck_out_tongue:

So for some reason last night, I got really, really drunk. It was the weirdest thing - I think it might be because I hadn’t had dinner - but I was fine one minute, then all of a sudden I was so drunk I couldn’t see straight. I hadn’t even had that much to drink (3 rum and cokes). I was actually sick on my way home (thankfully I got the taxi driver to pull over beforehand, so I wasn’t sick in the cab) which I haven’t been in YEARS.

I actually am not hungover at all, which is even weirder. I’m thinking that I just drank too quickly on an empty stomach, plus I was/am still pretty exhausted from the previous week.

It’s funny, though - I haven’t been that drunk at my friends’ birthday parties - nor mind! - for ages, and then I go to the birthday party of someone I barely know and get totally wasted. :dubious: After my booze-filled undergrad years I pride myself on knowing my limits, but last night the alcohol crept up from behind and ambushed me, the sneaky bastard.

MBG, glad to hear Scarlett is doing better!

Well, off to get some coffee and heart-attack muffins. Thank God tomorrow is a holiday - I need a weekend to recover from my weekend.

I have eaten, slammed caffeine and am now covered with cat food mush. Odd, she only fights it a little, and afterwards, sits by me cleaning herself and purring. I think later I’ll try some Chicken of the Sea - she’s kind of a tuna whore, and the smell is strong enough, maybe it’ll get through the stuffy nasal parts.

Off to return a movie, grab a few things at the store, then home to clean the kitchen and be settled in time for football.

Haze could someone have spiked your drink? Sounds exactly like an incident I had in college…just a thought but I am glad you are OK.

I am showered and drinking orange juice waiting on the coffeee brewing. The sinus headache is still here and the pressure seems to be increasing. Bugger. When I was in my last job I got 3 major sinus infections in the space of about 8 months. They took X-rays and refered me to an ENT but everythign was normal. I blamed the massive stress I was under for bringing my immune system down. I have been fine since I moved jobs. But Teh Sick that I had around New Years still hasn’t quite shifted so I dunno

Plans today include mucking out Casa de ems I am disgusted at myself at how dirty my house is. Then starting appraisals for my people this afternoon. I have some chicken boobs thawing with plans for chicken pasta for dinner and grilling some ready for fajitas tomorrow.

Hi, all. I’m here, telling myself to do something constructive, but not succeeding, and Papa Tigs took the Idiots off to Sam’s for the important things – toilet paper and new dog beds. Such exciting lives we lead.

LiLi, LittleBug is adorable! Give him lots of hugs and squeezes from his Mumper friends!

I’ve got nuthin’ much; this is a quiet weekend for us. The only thing of even remote interest is the finale of The Amazing Race tonight – and that’s unusual primarily because for the first time in recorded history, there’s no team I actively dislike vying for the win. I will be happy whoever wins – yay!

Update: Aaugh! Sam’s was OUT of the variety of toilet paper we get! Help! We much be on a toilet paper MISSION this afternoon, or Swampy will drum me out of the MMP!
