It's a 99 Party MMP!

Awww! TNC (aka Nathaniel!) is truly a beautiful baby! Thank you so much for sharing with us, LiLi and Mr. Lissar. That’s a cute pic of the cat hiding amongst the books, too, btw. LOL Is kitteh getting used to the baby yet or hiding because there were too many people around?

Poor Miss Scarlett! Praying for her already, MBG and hope that the treats help entice her to eat more.

Hoping too that Dotty and HRH are feeling better soon.

FCM, sorry to hear that the eggplant lasagna idea didn’t work out better. Try looking up some Greek or Middle Eastern recipes for eggplant; there’s bound to be some that are healthy. Baba Ghanouj is delish, btw. I would suggest eggplant parmesan–I made some a couple of times using eggplant cutlets (already breaded), but you can make it without frying the breaded eggplant first; just has -a lot- of cheese in it.

I’m getting ready to bake some cookies - gingerbread - and tomorrow I think I’m going to make a bean soup or something else in the crock pot. I’ve got leftover beef stew and chili from earlier this week, though, so maybe we’ll just finish that off. I’m -not- going out unless I absolutely have to; it’s going to be entirely too cold! My son called last night, and now he’s playing on the varsity basketball team!!! (He had been playing on the JV team, and hadn’t said anything about it … probably because he really wanted to be on the varsity.) He’s got a whole lot on his plate though and I’m hoping that he’ll be able to do what he wants -and- keep his grades up. So think good thoughts for my son, please!

Off to see about those cookies …

Good thoughts for your son, Herbs. I’m sure he’ll do fine.

Gksjdnfoswiehfnbsdbglakjfsd Do I decide to be lame and stay inside with cats, or make myself presentable and go out?

Reasons for not going out:
It’s cold
I don’t know the birthday girl very well anyway
The crowd she hangs out with ('06 graduates of our MA program) annoys me
It’s cold
I feel tired from this week
I need to finish Book V of The Dark Tower
It’s cold

Reasons for going out:
I need to get off my butt and try to meet new people
It’s an open bar, although there is a cover charge
New England Gentleman really really wants me to meet his new lady friend

Sigh. I really should go, at least for a little bit. Maybe I’ll take a cab - it’s not that far, I suppose.

Excuse me while I go make myself fit for human eyes.

It’s probably too late now, but Haze I’d stay in if’n it’s waaaaaaay cold. That’s just me though.

We went to friends’ house and had lasagna a some very good chawklit cake. I brought some of the cake home. Yeah, it’s 8:30 and we’re home. It’s cold and rainy here, so everybody left after a couple of hours to go home and get warm and comfy. I think soon I’ll go to bed. Well, we’ll go to bed, that is. I do believe a burly man will be nice on a cold night.

Ok, off to surf around a bit then beddy bye.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

Yeah, that’s what I would greatly prefer. The main reason I’m going is because of my friend New England Gentleman - he’s really psyched about introducing me to his new lady friend (I really don’t know what to call her, they’re not dating dating yet)so I can tell him what I think. Heh.

I suppose I shouldn’t be whining about the cold, since I’ve brought this upon myself by choosing to live in Chicago.

Oh, here’s the new top I bought. I did buy it for work but I think it works with jeans as well. The color is actually somewhere between deep red and purple - wine color, maybe. I bought it because of the sleeves. See the sleeves?

I also finally got that curling iron I’d ordered a million years ago. I’m still trying to get the hang of it.

I like the top–that’s a good color on you. PLEASE tell me you are NOT only wearing a short sleeved sweater today and tonight. I will become your American mother, if so and YELL AT YOU ABOUT THE WINDCHILL.
I didn’t end up with autumn wheat (which is not its name, but have forgotten it already). I bought “Clair de Lune”, a warm color-no idea how to describe it. Sort of a warm taupy yellowish/sand.

gohereandtypeinclairdelune

I am NOT using it with the coordinating colors shown. I have some olive, brown and rust in the room, as well as gold (all of these are in the comforter). Carpet is neutral beige, window trim is white. I have plans for the window treatments, but need to see the paint on the walls before I make a decision.

And of course I decided to do all this now–I am convinced that crunch times are the times when I do this kind of stuff. Must be some kind of coping mechanism or something.

I can’t help with it being cold – if I didn’t go out when it got really cold here, I’d never get anything done. Rather like if everything here stopped because of snow, not much would get done from about December to April. May, some years. The only thing I’ve not done because it was too cold was going ice skating outdoors one day because it was in the single digits, and I figured I’d wait for a slightly warmer day to do it. Next time I may not, because I was plenty warm while I was moving!

Hi everybody!

I’ve been a busy little Rebo. Yesterday I went to my GP and got a checkup for diabetes. He changed my meds again, right after I ordered them from the mail-in place. He sent me to get an x-ray for my ankle, but I haven’t heard back yet. I guess I’ll hear something on Monday.

And I also went to the eye doctor and ordered some new far-away glasses - my old frames were about to disintegrate. I was waiting for new insurance. They only cost me $13 out of pocket! W00t!

What else? Oh yeah, Sam’s Club run - where we got TP, paper towels and kleenex, and 7 toothbrushes for $3! And a ton of Hershey’s Miniatures - that;s what the toothbrushes are for!

And Walgreen’s to purchase a home blood pressure machine, since my doc wants me to monitor that, too. The first one we bought didn’t work, so Mr Rebo took it back and got another brand - it works just fine.

Too much running around - except for the grocery store, I’m staying home tomorrow! Oh, dinner tonight was Citrus Chicken Fricassee - it was meh. I hate that! I cook a new recipe that takes two hours and it doesn’t wow the troops - that sucks!

Pretty baby, LiLi!

The snow was disappointing, it came down good, but didn’t stick. Ice tomorrow, fun for work.

Gnat is adorable, LiLi!

Yay FCM!!

Hope Scarlett feels better soon.

I still ahve the sinus headache - I am hoping I don’t have a sinus infection as I can’t really afford the doctor right now.

I had a pretty good day. Went to the basketball game and it was fun but I prefered last nights hockey. Then we all went out for Mexican food which was Teh Yum!

I have just thrown one load of laundry in the dryer and I have a load of jeans in the washer. Gonna have a glass of vino then go to bed I think. Alone unfortunately as I don’t get to see Mr ems-to-be for another month :frowning:

Night Crew, signing in for duty…

Not that much going on over-(my)night, was there?

Haze, I guess you went out? Hope you enjoyed it despite the cold (single digits!? I freeze **hard **when it goes into single digits. And I’m talking Celsius! )

**ems **-- I believe the folk-remedy for sinus stuff-ups is putting (something?) in a pot of boiling water and inhaling the steam… anybody else remember what it is you’re supposed to put in there?
Of course my favorite way of clearing sinuses is eating some very hot and spicy food! The scientific merit of this method is highly questionable, of course… :dubious: but it is Teh Yum!
Pictures lovely as always, BTW

**Lili **-- great pictures in you blog. He’s soooo cute! And he’s stuck with the name :stuck_out_tongue: Gnat, Gnat, Gnat:smiley:

gt, you’re the most awesome!! You think like I do. I like FlyLady, but only skimmed David Allen’s book–I didn’t like the subtle sexist spin in it.

I spent part of last night listing my tasks on a 30" X 40" whiteboard. The whiteboard is now full and I have nowhere to put the tasks. I want to list them somewhere. And I LOVE that OmniOutliner! But I don’t have a Mac! And the OmniPlan is cool too. So close to what I want. Do you know of anything similar in Windows?

ETA: First on 10 without trying! Snoopy dance with a sassy twist!~~

Morning all. I am feeling marginally better but HRH is still snuffly and hubby is now suffering from Teh Snot.

LiLi, Nat is very very cute!!!

mmmmmms, here’s hoping your sinus headache doesn’t turn into my acute sinusitis! I still can’t quite hear properly!

Okay, time to go on a dust-bunny seek and destroy mission. Where did I leave that vacuum cleaner?

He brings in the swamp and I’ll sing like a frog!

Update - CT scan of my sinuses shows a deviated septum, which (if I continue to get bad sinus infections) may need a referral to the ENT surgeon. Fingers crossed it doesn’t get to that!

I will catch up reading after I post my early morning gripe.

CedarPointEx stopped by last night since she was in town. She was here for about 1/2 hour. Now, keep in mind that it was about 25 years ago that they dated. All I have heard about since she left was about the ‘old days.’ In reality, most of what I usually hear about is the old days. Yes, I’m sure that I talk about my past some of the time, but it really is getting old this morning. Especially when the ‘good old days’ seem so much more exciting than what is going on here right now. Right now as I’m typing he’s STILL talking. There’s more that I’d like to say, but it’s tough to type and listen at the same time.

Oh well.

**Dotty **-- I hope it doesn’t come to surgery, but if you do have a deviated septum, and it is causing (or at least abetting) the repeated acute sinusitis attacks, maybe the fact that you now have a reason, and it can be fixed, is actually a good thing? IIRC, fixing a deviated septum, while it’s surgery and there are always dangers and pain and possible complications, is a relatively straightforward and safe procedure!

{{{Pie}}} – that sucks. Badly. I think your guy needs some serious talking to…. I hope it helps.

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR - bitter! As expected, there’s no snow accumulation to speak of - just a dusting left on fallen leaves - but we got ourselves some wind chill here. When I let the doggies out, there was a decidedly brisk breeze that was sufficient to convince Bernie of the folly of walkabout today. I don’t think we have to go anywhere or do anything, so that’s good.

I had a terrible night. I’m not blaming dinner, because my sweetie didn’t experience the same issues, but I was in and out of the facilities all night long. My gastro-intestinal track was very much displeased, and I wasn’t too happy either. Things apparently settled down before midnight, because after seeing the clock after 11:30, I don’t recall any more till 5:45. Still, that’s a terribly short night for a weekend. Then I woke up with horrid itching between my fingers - all fingers! Aloe helped briefly. Wonder if we have any more anti-itch stuff??

Plans for the day - laundry. Maybe even starting on the bathroom take-down. Definitely no funky cooking today. I’ve got a chicken to roast for dinner, and at most, I’ll put the cucumber salad together. I got kitchened out yesterday. But best of all, my daughter should be calling today so we can discuss her trip up here for the job fair. YAY!!

**FCD ** is still doing design work - he was at it most of yesterday. He plans to watch both football games today. rah. :stuck_out_tongue: Lucky him, he’s still sleeping, and he’ll continue to sleep if I can keep the stoopit little dog from barking. No small chore, that. She barks when she wants to go outside, and for some strange reason, she wants out now. Sorry, pup, cross your legs and hold it.

I’m so mean…

Happy Sunday.

Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ here. Earlier than I wanna be up but I slept really good last night so I’m all wakey and stuff. It’s cold here too! BRRRRRRRR! I just cranked the heat up a couple notches so the bathroom won’t be too cold in a while. That taco soup is gonna be really good today let me tells ya.

After churchification and lunch (NOL) I need to give da cave a good spiffin’ up, so I guess that’ll keep me all warm this afternoon.

Ok, time for some more hot caffiene.

Later Y’all!

Thanks, Noonie.

I’m better now. I think the thing is that he and I are just very different people. Sometimes it takes me awhile to figure out how to relate to him. Usually the stories that he tells are for my entertainment. It’s just that I don’t always find them entertaining. He’s had a hard life all along and I do need to cut him some slack. But occasionally, it just gets to be a bit much.

Today we will be venturing out into the frozen tundra for a trip to Sam’s Club. Yippee. I’ve got four lunches for tomorrow so far and I’m pretty wiped out of supplies. After that I’ll bring him back home and head back towards PieLand. He and CedarPointEx are getting together tonight to relive old times again. I can’t be there because I have to go home on Sunday evenings now in case the weather is really bad. It doesn’t really bother me that they’re getting together. She’s got a full life now with a husband (who just found out he has thyroid cancer) and two young children. And as I recounted earlier, I know that he’ll enjoy recalling his wild past with her.

Ok, off to forage for breakfast.

Morning all! I’m up and caffeinated, just wondering how long it’ll be before 'im indoors surfaces. It’s approaching midday here and we have to catch a train at 1.21pm to go to Carlisle and then pick up a lift from friends through to Gretna Green.

We’re off to a wedding there on Monday afternoon so we all decided to go up today and have an extra night there. So I’m off to pack and stuff, and I’ll be back on Wednesday.

Try not to miss me too much!
