If your old 'puter is also Mac, it’ll be easy. OSX has migration software built in

I figured it would be roughly as simple as plugging in the existing Time Machine and clicking a “'Move All My Stuff!” button. But, I’ll certainly read up on it first in case Mavericks has a surprise twist to the process. Guess they ran out of felines.
I just realized that I never named the old Mac, other than the prosaic “Real Name’s Mac” which is a bit odd since when I got it, I was wrangling vast hordes of Unix servers, all of which were grouped with theme names like old-time movie stars, Star Wars characters, cheeses, etc.
I’m gonna drive over in about an hour and pick him up and take him to his house. To clarify, I’m going to drive 18 minutes to pick him up and take him to his house which is 5 minutes from where I’m picking him up at… Hey, I get to see him so it works for me!
Then tomorrow I think we’re going to hang out and go to one of the places that sells my stuff and maybe do some shopping.
It’s a cool 36 degrees with a projected high of 56.
My ear stopped hurting except for the occasional twinge but I hate being half deaf. I can’t tell what direction noises are coming from. Sah-son scared the bejezus out out of me when I heard him to the left but he was actually on my right. On the plus side I’m getting more sleep because the hounds from hell aren’t waking me up every morning.
Oh wow the very first episode of Mr Ed is on. I’ve never seen it before. That explains why the intro music was different.
I have to watch piddle pup this weekend.
I’d rather stay in and sleep.
(((((Skully))))), sending positive thoughts your way.
Been up for a while, cats are fed and settled on the bed for their morning snooze, I’ve done workout number 8 and am off to make myself presentable soon, got to face the outside world at some point today. It’s the usual errands in town and suchlike, and tonight I have World War Z to watch. Right now, I feel an urgent need for another cup of tea.
So, you’re not as clueless as you make yourself out to be…
Higgs let me sleep till almost 6, and I feel almost human this morning. So yay! It’s sitting right at freezing outside, but the wind has backed off and when the sun comes up, we’ll eventually creep up to almost 60.
While it’s still creeping and too chilly to play in dirt, **FCD **and I will be moving stuff around in the basement, throwing other stuff out, and generally converting a large storage closet into a painting room. The closet has a window and he’ll rig up an exhaust fan to de-fumify it while he’s airbrushing. It should reduce the chemical stink that pervades the house.
Plus we’ll finally go thru a bunch of crap we have and get rid of the crappiest of the crap. I’m still debating the Christmas decorations - we haven’t put up a tree in 10 years, and as long as Taz is alive, I doubt that we ever will. I’ve got a bunch of ornaments that were given to me that I never used, so there’s no sentiment attached. In fact, the meaningful decorations would maybe fill a shoebox. I should just sell or donate the rest and get it all out of the house.
That’s a decision for another day. Today, there are chores to be done.
We’re on day four of my neck being stiff. Ben Gay helps for a few hours. Tylenol helps for a few more. Then it hurts again. I think it’s because I’m cross-stitching again and I hold my head differently for that than I do with crochet.
Oh well. I guess it’s time to bundle up and go to irk. It is twenty-eight American degrees out there (-2 Foreign degrees). That’ll kill the stinkbugs off!
I like the various names also. In fact, I may just save mine for future use.
Still freezing outside. **FCD **is still in bed. I think he needs to get up and take me to breakfast. I may accidentally let Higgs into the bedroom. Would that be too evil of me??
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis a chillified 38 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of <snerk> 69 <snerk> for the day. The heat is on in da cave for now to take the chill out. There’s even a little frost on the roof!
For those who might wander what a Rougarou is, there ya go. I might use that if I ever changed my name or became a zombie which hasn’t happened because there has been no zombie outbreak on the Dope. Nope. Nuttin’ to worry about here. Carry on as usual.
MOOOOOOM Higgs NEEDS, nay, WANTS, to see her daddy. She should not be deprived. It’ll only lead to years of therapy if she is deprived.
Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, well, no big plans for the day. Maybe I’ll iron. Yeah, I live it up!
Since it’s rather chilly out, the pellet stove came on overnight, and its fan does make some white noise - because of that, I didn’t hear my sweetie get up and get into the shower. I missed my chance, dagnabbit!! But we’re both showered and dressed and I’m just waiting for him to finish whatever he’s doing in the basement so we can go eat. Bert’s for pancakes! YAY!!
