Happy Saturday!
Looks to be a hot and muggy day today. It’s supposed to rain but the sun is out right now.

I thought GSDs were officially named like “Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg Gotha” and had a shortened call name such as “Prince”.
I can see the fun iffn someone wanted to go there. “Ok,Google, take me to Funkstown”. ![]()
That musta been a loooong wait in line.
Only the ones with purple fur.
Hot, hoomid, potentially rainy, potentially thunderboomery weather has already cxl’d or altered most of the days set plans.
Four day weekend! Huzza! Despite being exhausted yesterday I was awake at 5:30 in the am. ''Tis warm and hoomid with chance is scattered storms. WalMart this morning, then to the barn with celebration cupcakes. It’s an unwritten rule that you bring treats for speshul occasions. For hoomans. Equine overlords get carrots.
We have McBrekkied and I have the <snerk> butt! <snerk> and chikin in slow cookers on warm. I shall put the ribs in the oven in a couple of hours or so to let ‘em finish off coookin’ low and slow which guarantees they will be fall off the bone tender. YUM! For now chillage ensues for a while before the fun and festivities begin.
Mrs Sario is out of town, taking a vacation weekend with some friends. So me and Mini Rio are sans adult supervision.
Thus far nothing is on fire, so I count that as a win.
Don’t worry Rio, there’s still plenty of time for mayhem. ![]()
CEE-MINT POND TIME!!! WOOHOO!!!
Heh
Don’t count your chickens.
We spent an exciting evening explaining that puppies sleep on the floor. She did eventually decide that we must be right about that, but she was a little irritated about it and talked to us about it several times. She’s pretty funny and very chatty. She also tried to pick up the splash mat I keep under the water bowl. She managed to get it out (strong little thing), which upended the water bowl. She then ran around carrying the mat, yowling as loud as she could with her mouth full of mat.
Her name shall be Raven. She is mischievous and she squawks! ![]()
Not if she’s a bitch. ![]()
Happy Canada Day!
Today officially kicks off a mini-staycation. So far, I’ve stripped the bed and made brunch (poached aigs over sauteed spinach, mushrooms and scallions, bacon and whole grain toast with marmalade washed down with coffee). Now it’s time to start a load of towels and sheets and do KP cleanup. After getting purtified, I’ll make a Tar-jay run and swing by Lowes for some kind of flower to replace the last of the first round of maters. Any suggestions?
Waiting for the dryer to finish so I can go get a shower. I need some clean clothes to put on and I am out of clean t-shirts.
I haven’t done much of anything so far today, I feel a bit blurfy even though I got plenty of sleep.
Making tacos for the kid tonight, and spaghetti for me.
And… maybe Athena because she looks like an owl, or maybe Ilsa because hubby likes that name. Harder than naming a kid! :smack:
Higgs had 4 or 5 names before we settled. But most of our other critters either came with names or we knew what to call them right off.
Back from running around. We went for breakfast, then stopped for bread and some Amish veggies. **FCD **didn’t feel like moving furniture but he wanted to look at furniture, so we drove to Waldorf. First stop was Regency where we saw alllllllll kinds of tacky. I wish I could find a pic of one in particular - the wood was “carved” and painted silver and the upholstery was silvery gray - the entire set just screamed WHOREHOUSE!!! Seriously, the showroom was full of cheap, tacky, very unappealing furniture. We’d never been there before and we’ll never go again.
Then we went to LaZBoy where they didn’t have a whole lot on display and a very chatty saleslady followed us around. She was nice enough but we just wanted to look. We didn’t stay there long, and since we’d neglected to measure where the furniture would go, we didn’t really know what to get anyway. Nor are we agreed on style. I want something that looks tailored, **FCD **likes the overstuffed, comfy look. We both agree we don’t want leather upholstery or wood accents or nail head trim. We both hate pieces with the body upholstered in one fabric and the cushions in another. He doesn’t like the prints I like for the accent piece, but I don’t want all solids again. This is going to take a while.
Home now, first load in the washer, and we’re chilling. **Butters **- I put a photo for you to check out on FB. ![]()
So I was looking through the Mumper Recipe blog, looking for ideas for this week’s dinners. And I found this. The alternating horror and laughter have ensured that all thoughts of ever making food again have vanished.
OTOH, a chicken on fire =
dinner!
How else do you get it blackened?
…& that’s why you don’t name a dog for at least 48 hrs.
Sari, Heh. Running out of t-shirts; that’s funny. I have at least a dozen I’ve never even worn.
Mooommm, that’s a lot of criteria; how about this?
Um, Spidey, nope…
Howdy Y’all! In from quality time at the cee-mint pond. Dindin prep is underway. We shall feast shortly. Can’t wait cause I’s hungry!
Home**** form work. Nappage is about .to ensue as soon as I check out the picture Mmmooomm posted on Facebook.
Just let me get on record I am glad I am a manager and don’t have
to deal with public daily. We were so busy. We close at 1PM on Sat but they just kept coming. We finally just locked the door and said No more.
My niece called and wants us to go to her bar tonight. Hubs is so busy irking and his phone is non stop with A/C calls I just don’t see going out but one never knows.
Boat people are here.
Spidey I have very little in the clothes department.
I like it that way and when I finally get around to KonMariing my clothes, I will have even less. I use her method of folding, and it saves a lot of space, but I haven’t actually done the ‘Spark Joy’ process.

One thing I disagree with her, she thinks 80 roles of TP is too many.
I was amused at her story about the woman who followed her method and eliminated everything in her home that didn’t spark joy. After she went through all the steps, she realized her husband no longer sparked joy, so she got rid of him too.
Laundry is done, so I’ve accomplished at least one thing today.
I’m trying to figure out how to do a yarn mohawk. I suppose I could google it…
We have feasted and everyone is gone. As I always say, I love company, comin’ and goin’.
