Well, I’ve been spending a Tzeroling-free day with Mrs. O and it’s actually been really nice. Now we’re doin’ the present-wrapping thang (or at least she is until she’s done with the stuff I can’t see). So you guys will have to struggle on without me and the cribbage board and watch football. 
The one Doperfest I am bucking for is the Meet Anniz/Super Bowl party at Montfort’s. No way I’m missing that, especially since I’m planning a halftime concert in Anniz’s honor. I hope the long-distance Dopers can make it out then? Hate having to miss meeting all of you.

Actually, it’s not going to be on Super Bowl Sunday, but the following Saturday night, the 3rd of February.
So, I think we can all breathe a sigh of relief there’s no “halftime concert” by Olentzero.
Anyway, I had a great time today (Go Eagles!!!), and I have to thank my lovely host, Alex (whoops, Falcon, I mean!) for letting us all invade her apartment for a day.
I am back home, safe and relatively sane (no less so than when I left this morning).
Montfort, I am waiting to see what reactions people will have to the pictures that got taken today by you. I don’t think Sarah’s will come out for a week or so (and now she’ll go and prove me wrong by putting them up tomorrow). And thanks for the ride.
PL and Falcon, I hope next time I will remember to wear more comfortable pants so I don’t sound so breathy when I make my feeble attempt to sing. You’ll also have to play songs I know:)

Thanks, Falc, for hosting a great get-together! Those of you who weren’t here missed out on lots of great conversation and cardplaying, and even a little bit of watching football. (Although we didn’t let the woeful performance of the Deadskins dampen our spirits much.)
In attendance were, in no particular order, our lovely hostess, her adorable kitten Alex, and weirddave, Montfort, SqrlCub, dcnewsman, pldennison, Peta Tzunami, iampunha, Silo, Hamadryad, Nacho4Sara, and andygirl. (Assuming this all wasn’t just a false memory, of course - UncleBeer has assured me that absolutely no credibility should be attached to people’s memories. So I may have dreamed the entire thing while falling asleep watching football at home. ;))

Thank you for coming, everyone…it was great showing off the apartment, and the kitty. (Who is really sick today, and may need surgery. So any good thoughts would be great.)
Everyone showed up and goofed off, Sqrl cursed various people, Montfort took 20 thousand pictures of my cat, Leigh-Anne and DCnewsman both tried to STEAL my cat…
All in all, a good time was had. And unfortunately, I can’t remember thoise quotes that we said HAD to get put here. I do remember the epitaph we wrote for andygirl, though…“The Curiously Dead Andygirl.”
Oh, we also discovered the mandatory three characteristics for Dopers. Inquisitiveness, skepticism, and…bitterness.
It was a fun time. Hamadryad and I teamed up, for a 2 and 1/2 hour drive north to Falcon’s place. During which I think we talked about everything under the sun.
We arrived there, around 3 o’clock, in the midst of snow, and joined the party. I ended up playing card games and socializing while downing a few beers.
After dinner, a group of us migrated to Falc’s computer room. Where we had everything from live music to some-video-clip-of-a-guy-doing-a-stuffed-reindeer!
Lotsa fun stuff, too many funny conversations to remember.
Around nine o’clock everyone said their goodbyes. Hama and I then departed back to Richmond.
