Sorry for your loss nellibly
Another night of curfew. And once again Gordie and I didn’t get in till 5 after 8. ANARCHY!
I have 2 VCRs. Get off my lawn.
((((nellie}}}}
My condolences, nellie; and hope your sister didn’t get scammed too badly, she really doesn’t need that now.
Sunny, we hope that the basic decent folks still outnumber the SOB’s. Then we take a deep breath and dig ourselves out. I (and maybe you) made it through 1966-1970, we can do it again (cockeyed optimist me). And dentists are devious like that; hope things go OK.
And I think I need to get off-line and take a dandelion break… https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/proxy/ikJlyp3Vq2J_7rYUKhSA7vT0XS6ad-6Lket2zytHpEtHNoIL-thNH-0FImK2Ggr2-M-QXMGRBzOvUCGZM3RXWdaW66WDgIPoLa3s1wOepf9m5Abx-tjs5-uK
its hot here in the desert and we have a curfew hopefully its over tomorrow …
Have to run off to an appointment, but I’m thinking about ordering a Dandelion Break poster. There’s a traffic circle near us with a giant Ikea child’s chair and it’s full of dandelions and it reminds me of dandelion breaks.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 67 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 87 and cloudy for the day. However, the last time TWPTB said cloudy day it was N.O.S., so who knows. Today is lay in provisions day. One of us shall head to the Pubic Sto’, while the other goes to the Harvey’s Sto. Both have foodstuffs we shall procure. The Pubic Sto’ has a deal on shrimpies, so shrimpies ‘n grits with some sort of vegetative matter for sup. We did manage to spiff da cave and do laundry yestiddy, so Go Us! Also I recorded my scripture readin’ and it uploaded on the first try!
{{{Nellie}}} so sorry about your BIL. He, your sis, you and the family are in my prayers.
Miss Owl I am impressed! May Phoenix the Cat find it within her heart to forgive you. Then again, she’s a cat, so may she kill you mercifully is probably more appropriate to say.
Everyone else, I read but retention is not my strong suit, so yays, boos, hugs, trouts, chitlins, noogies, and how you doin’s all around as needed.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then, alas, alack, bother, woe of woes, I suppose I should purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire. The demands of life do so overwhelm me!
Happy Hump Day Y’all!
{{{nellie & sis}}} - Even when death is a blessed relief for the sufferer, it’s still a rough smack of reality for those who live on. Peace to you and yours.
I’m up, showered, dressed, fed, and caffeinating. With luck, we’ll be on the road within an hour. It’s going to be a hot one! I should be able to do all the digging at Mom’s before it gets too oppressive. I’m not getting nearly as many plants as last time. At least I don’t think so.
Good thing he’s seeing the doc today - after his 5PM meds, he’ll be out of painkillers. I hate cutting it this close. **FCD **wants to quit taking them, but when he delays them even and hour, he’s in agony. It’d be nice if the doc can give him a non-narcotic painkiller. We shall see.
Onward! Happy Wednesday!!
I’m sorry for your loss, nellie - even though you may have already grieved for your BiL, it is still sad when the time comes and you still can’t be with your loved ones.
You’ll all be pleased to hear that the washing machine decided to complete the second cycle without incident so my clothes are doubly clean! I may have to shower twice before I wear any of them to reciprocate.
Highlight of my day is that I’m taking the afternoon off! We are constantly being urged to use our annual leave even though we can’t really go anywhere yet. It’s my pub friend’s birthday tomorrow so I am going over to her house this afternoon to drop off gifts and have a socially-distant cup of tea with her and her partner. We went out every Wednesday night and had done so for many years before the lockdown so it will be good to catch up with them both.
She is a key worker so has been going out to work all through this, her partner is retired and had surgery for bowel cancer last year. He was expecting to have a stoma reversal operation in April which obviously got cancelled and since he’s in a vulnerable group, he’s had to confine himself pretty much to the house for several weeks. Now he’s allowed out, the highlight of his week is going fishing! Thus I must fit in my visit around her work pattern and his fishing plans
boo fae, glad you’re getting to see your friends, and fishing is a good activity for those who need to isolate. And leave time is nice, even if there is nothing much to do.
swampy, I’m pretty well set for shopping needs for June, but will need bits and pieces (milk for cereal will be a stop this week).
FCM, may weather, planting and FCD’s meds all work out in your favor.
It’s already 77F at 7:30am, but there is a 40% chance of rain today, increasing to 80% for tomorrow, so I may not have to water the lawn. May fool around with my kindle a bit, if I can figure it out there is some reading matter I want to download. But for now is Sudoku-solving.
Everybody have a good Hump Day.

Happy Hump Day!
Beautiful day out there, 70 degrees this morning, the sun is shining, and there is a light breeze.
Home from the park, eating a little breakfast then we are heading out to pick up the rocks.
Of course there is no place to park in front of my house again.
I’ll double park until my son carries in all the rocks.
Lots of stuff to do today.

I’m so excited! My hair stylist called last night and said they’re reopening the salon on Friday (we go green then) and I have an appointment for cut & color at 11:00 a.m. My roots are way too long (I refuse to go gray) and I’m shaggy. My last cut & color was in late January, for heaven’s sake!
I had to lock the cat up in my bedroom yesterday because I called the plumber to come and finally install the new bathroom vanity we bought a couple of years ago. I think she has forgiven me for both that and the window; I gave her more yogurt this morning and she let me hold her and love on her. Don’t worry, she has at least 5 other windows she likes to sit in – she just wants that one because she can’t have it.

It’s 67F here at 9:30 am heading for a predicted 81F, and N.O.S.
When I clicked on that I got a 403 error, Das ist verboten! 'Sides, we have more than enough dandelions here already.
Thanks again for the Happys everybody. We had a nice day yesterday. Planted Wifey’s plants, which the deer didn’t eat last night, praise Og! (There’s a herd of deer that sleep under our deck at night.) Then we drove to the big city and did some shopping and picked up dinner to go from a pretty decent Thai place. We also procured a Boston Cream cake that was good. My Mom used to make Boston cream cakes when I was a kid and I loved them, but for a while there, commercial Boston cream cakes were these vile concoctions with ersatz vanilla fillings and waxy pseudo-chocolate icing, and I gave up on them. The bakers in the bakery at Safeway done good.
Today I may try to fence off our little garden plot so as not to tempt fate, and weak-willed deer, too much.
Gotta go. I replaced an ink cartridge in our printer and now it’s in an ‘error state’ and refuses to print. No more clues than that. What absolute shit!
Twenty three bags of rocks is about half of what is needed.
Then I found out I could have gotten 2,200 pounds of 5-8 inch rocks delivered.
My son would kill me.
Well, I ended up having to re-install the printer driver(s). And now it’s telling me the other ink cartridge is low. :smack:
I hope I’m not gonna have to re-install every time I put in a new cartridge. I used to like Canon printers.
I shouldn’t believe so.
I have switched to HP. I think they all come with their own variations on the theme of being POSs.
My big activity today will be going to PetCo and getting kitty litter. I also have to figure out something for dinner. Not sure what will happen in that area. Sometimes cereal happens…
Home, and once again, we’ve got no pain meds thanks to something between the Dr’s office and the pharmacy. And by the time I found out, the Dr’s office was closed, so **FCD **will have to go without till tomorrow, which sucks.
On the plus side, the Dr is really pleased with his progress. His staples are gone. Let the healing continue.
I need to wind down…
Thank you, dear Dopers, for the virtual hugs and support. It means more to me than you can ever know. I’m doing OK because my sister is doing OK. She’s in that busy phase right now. The memorial service is next week. It’ll be very small and socially distanced. And she’s turned the post-scam work to her son-in-law, who’s sharp and who takes no prisoners.
I’m taking small delights where I can. There’s a little boy who lives in an upstairs apartment near the complex gate. He plays with the little girl directly below him, each on their own balcony/patio. It’s so sweet! They always say hello to me as I go by. I call them Upstairs and Downstairs.
And there’s a new dog at the dog park who’s so polite, he doesn’t need training in Miss Nellie’s Rules for Treat Etiquette.
VOW, I only have a couple of nice memories of the BIL, and I’ve shared them with my sister many times. I wish I had more, but frankly, he caused a lot of damage and heartache in the family. Despite that, I’m really sad about his passing. My sister loved him, and he loved her, and though I’m not a Quaker, I’ve always tried to follow George Fox’s “Walk cheerfully over the earth, answering that of God in everyone.”
Moooom, I’m distressed FCD will have to go without pain meds until tomorrow. Argh! Glad to hear he’s healing so well, though.
I’m gathering you all in one big, squishing hug. Come on, crowd in. Yes, you, too, flytrap, and lower that eyebrow. {{{{{Everyone}}}} Blessings on all and drinks are on me.
