It's Moanday Somewhere - A MMP

Ok, so I did make it into the (online) paper. There was an article, but no pictures. Yet, elsewhere in the paper there was a gallery of pictures from the show (what I’d seen previously) and I’m not in it and more importantly neither is my stuff.

Oh well, time for bed.

It’s been 30 years and I still can’t convinced my inlaws that when they visit us, they don’t have to share a single towel. They’ve been here 2 days. That’s 4 showers total. Only one towel has been used. I’m going to grab it and toss it downstairs, and I’ll hang another, but I know they’ll still share it. Why would they do this? It’s not as if each towel requires its own load of wash!

My inlaws are weird.

Oh, and FIL has taken over the remote. He likes Faux News. He watches golf. They both lurve Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, both of which I prefer to avoid. They may be here another week…

Main pump for the aquarium failed last night, and **FCD **was unable to repair it this time - two years of mostly continuous running has taken its toll. Dammit. A new one has been ordered and is on its way - there’s $350 I hadn’t budgeted for. Dammit. Meanwhile, he rigged up another, much less efficient pump, in an attempt to keep the fish healthy, or at least alive till Weds or Thurs when the new pump arrives. During the hurricane, all the fish died in 48 hours - we don’t need that this time. So fingers crossed. Guess it’s a good thing he did a water change yesterday.

Today is peach jam day 2.0 - MIL is going to help me slice and chop as required, and those peaches that aren’t needed in jam will go into a pie. Yum.

I’s tahred - stoopit aquarium drama kept me up past midnight and idiot dog woke me at 5:30. Long day ahead. <sigh>

Happy Sunday anyway.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 73 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 92 for the day. Summer in the south and all that there jazz.

MOOOOOOM that sucks about the pump. Hope the fishies make it through. I suggest replacin’ the towel with a hand towel just to see what happens.

StickyBuns yay for makin’ it into the online paper!

doggio any weddin’ worth goin’ to should have an open bar at the reception.

Ok, that’s all I got. Need more caffiene and should consider what to feed rumbly tummy. Also, I have butterbeans cookin’ for N.O.L. Purtification for deheathenization also shall commence at some point. I has ush duty today.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Well, I witnessed something really weird this morning - Ziva went to my MIL to be petted!! This is the cat who dives under my side of the bed to hide any time anyone comes to the house - including FCD!! But she actually went up MIL!! Perhaps the first sign of end times???

Morning all!

Got up to find a text from my landlord that he must have sent while I wasn’t the BBQ last night…
drumroll

He (or to be more precise, his Dad, a mechanic) appears to have fixed the car! It looks like the clutch wasn’t broken at all, it was bubbles in the fluid. I did check the fluid levels, but it looked fine, and I didn’t know how to bleed it through. I’m going to take it out for a bit to check it is really OK, but a tenner or so for a bottle of brake fluid is a lot easier on the ol’ budget than £260.

I think I am going to look out for a slightly bigger vehicle still, but it’s very nice to not have to.

Anyway, I shall be off- I needs to nip down the allotment, and I’m hopefully meeting up with some people in the park for a juggle in a bit, if anyone shows and the rain stays off.

Accidental double post- nuttin’ to see here, move along…

Oh OK, I’ll put a few smileys in, the previous post kind of called for a few.

**Nut **- yay for landlord’s dad!! Just curious - how did he happen to be looking at it?

He just came over to visit, as the landlord lives here, and I’d parked in the back yard. He had suggested getting his dad to have a look, just so’s I could get a better cost estimate, and I’d told him where I kept the spare key and said go ahead.

Didn’t expect him to be able to do anything though!

I’m terrified to have a high fish load in the marine tanks.
Six fish and a homicidal pistol shrimp in a 100.

Morning. up and caffeinated. Working in a bit.

Be careful Nut. Cars get jealous if you look at othr cars, and break for attention.

Hope the fish make it, Mooom!. If not, I guess it’s Sushi Night at FairyChat Estates?

I’ll help her chop you up in to chum.

:dubious:

Happy Sunday!

So far, so good - the temporary pump is doing a good job. Here’s hoping it doesn’t crap out on us.

Jam has been made, but half of the peaches weren’t ripe and unfortunately, I’d scalded them and tried to peel them, so into the garbage they went. By not ripe, I mean hard as peachy rocks. But I had enough ripe ones to make a batch which is cooling right now.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough to make the peach streusal pie, which meant a trip to Food Lion. Said pie is now in the oven, dishwasher is loaded, and kitchen is tidied. **FCD **and his folks are in the basement doing something. It’s clouding over, but I don’t think we’re expecting rain - only 20% chance. Of course, the car is outside the garage and the windows are open a bit - doesn’t that just invite rain?

Tomorrow, they’ll all leave early for Duke - surgery is at 2:30, and they’ll be spending the night there so the Dr can check things out on Tues, at which point, they’ll be coming back here. From there, who knows? All I know is I’ll get some alone time.

I’s tahred - I only got about 5 hours of sleep last night.

yeah - there were fireworks near me last night. I think it was a town celebration, given my proximity to town hall and all.
Sunday flavored blurf. Th’ rain’s a-comin’!

Oh, lovely. A family in my complex is having a shouting match. How grand.

In a lot of pain today and overdosing on caffeine and related crap.

Going away for a few days tomorrow. I’ll try to avoid the mayor of the city that I’ll be visiting.

Back from breakfast out.
My friend came by to make sure she remembered how to get here since she is picking me up Wednesday morning.
We went to Mikie’s, a local diner that we both like.
I brought back some Mikie burgers for Sah-son, a bag of 10 is $11. He got only 8 of them, I grabbed two for myself for later.

FCM sounds like your in-laws would get along great with my mother and her bf. My mother keeps the channel tuned to Faux News although her bf will get on her about if from time to time. They both watch golf and WoF and Jeopardy. I won’t watch with her because she always has to shout out the answers and her bf with sit there at beam at her because she is so smart.
I hope your in-laws don’t sit and hold hands at the table the way those two do.

I hope your fishes are okay.
Yay! on the easy fix for the wheels Nuts
Back in the olden days my clutch in my Chevy LUV truck went up and I learned to drive without the clutch until I could get it fixed. Probably can’t do that in newer cars.

The sound went out, completely, on the tv in my bedroom last night. It’s only about 3 years old, but it’s an off-brand (Scepter? I keep wanting to call it Spectre! LOL) and I’ve had issues with it in the past. It looks like a replacement will be purchased soon. Right now, I’ve got a really old tv hooked up in there, one where the volume is LOUD or MUTE. LOL This was not something I’d budgeted for. And doggone it, I hate to admit this, but I’m one of those people that needs “background” noise to be able to sleep. Don’t judge me too harshly now, please! I think I’m going to purchase some earphones/headphones this time.

Crossing my fingers and toes for the make-shift fish tank pump, FCM. Yay on making the online news, Sticky! And yay for landlord’s dad fixing the car,Nuts, that is a great deal.

My daughter got a rack of lamb, believe it or not, in the meat manager’s case on Friday, and that is what we’re having for dinner tonight. Oh my gosh, I am looking forward to that, I love lamb but rarely get to have it. It was indeed serendipity to come across this in the meat manager’s specials!

My legs are starting to heal up - they are still hurting some but not quite as much as they had been, and they’re itching a lot, which is a good thing, that means that they are healing. Just please keep sending good thoughts to my legs, all good thoughts are greatly appreciated!

I know I’m forgetting things … Rosie’s .sig to any and all in need. Enjoy your Sunday all!

Yesterday was the monthly county electronic recycle dumpoff, so I unloaded my dead VCR/DVD and ALL my VHS tapes. Time to move forward with DVDs. Today is stamp club which I look forward to every month. Dinner will be chopped Cobb salad from Portillos. The Portillos a mile from me and has been open 2 years but I’ve never been there. It’s too tempting…

I’m another one who can’t sleep without the TV on so no judgement from me. Nothing will wake me up faster than the cable/power going out and that deathly silence.
I’m glad your legs are healing.
