I got excited by the ripening blackberries down here and went to Graveyard Fields this morning. The berries up there are still green. :smack: Remember you live in a *valley *you dolt! Nothing’s ripe at 4000+ feet. There are still rhododendrons blooming up there!
But they will be ripe in a couple of weeks and I will be there. Look out blueberries!
And now I’m exhausted because that was a long hike. I went to the lower falls and almost all the way to the upper falls before calling it quits. And I’m itchy too. I’ll have to do a tick check later on.
I have an iPod set to repeat a specific shuffled playlist all night, so I’m with the “can’t sleep in too quiet a room” group.
Screaming matches are not that unusual in my complex, but the wretched hive complex next one over is worse. I live in SUCH a wonderful area.
Woke to a slightly achy mouth (did venture into soft solid food yesterday, since my stomach is strongly protesting a diet of meal shakes and mashed potatoes) and a laundry/cleanup problem that the women present no doubt know about better than they’d like. I certainly didn’t need the adrenaline blast. At least the sheets and bedding looked clean when I inspected as best I could around DH. I’ll probably still run them through the wash today anyway.
I ruled out deheathenating for the day. I know from experience that a combination of hot weather, “that time”, and inadequate food intake leads to bad things for me.
Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated (and I ushed), came back to da cave, and I fried okra, made cornbread and heated up the pot roast and beans for N.O.L. I done good! Like a big ol’ country after church dindin at granny’s place.
Nuts yay for car fix!
Ok, back to general sloth and intartoobz snoopin’.
FCM - hope fish make it. Very scary. Can you feed less for a few days to lower the load? And I hear you on the towels. My MIL is the same. I took her with me to the store to buy her a set a nice new towels for her use. She will still go into the closet and get out one of my rags, with holes in it, and use that. Last time I hid the rags and put her towel across her pillow.
Nutshell yay Nuts on the car, Yay Herbs on the healing legs, Yay for blackberries, healing thoughts for Nettie and I sure can emphasize re laundry and time of the month.
Rosie. I will read the blog. Does anyone know how to bookmark on an iPad? Mmooommm. Hope the fishes do well and FIL on his surgery.
Fishies are doing just fine - the temporary pump is doing quite well, so yay!! **FCD **is almost done reassembling his bike - yay! Inlaws are buying pizza for supper - yay! I finished another shawl and started an afghan - yay!
Doesn’t take a lot to make me happy, does it?
I have to have quiet to sleep. Background levels of noise don’t much bother me, but I couldn’t sleep in a room with a TV or radio going. So I’m making a list of who will have to go to another room if I host a pajama party.
In a bit, gonna go meet OYKW at that paragon of fine dinin’ known as Three Squares Diner. I got me a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for a hamburger steak in onion gravy and some fries. It comes with a sallit so it’s all healthy.
Bearing in mind I’m a lousy photographer, meet the Pirate Bike. It should be displaying oldest pic to newest, so the white ones should be first. With luck when we move it out into daylight, I can get some better pics.
Yay, Nuts on the car. Much less than a new clutch.
herbs, glad your legs are doing better.
Keeping things crossed for the [del] sushi[/del] fishies Mooom.
swampy, luncheon with LOLs is da bomb. My sister’s ex-grandmother-in-law (Sis got custody of her in the divorce ) always invited us over for one when I was visiting Houston. Pimento cheese o r chicken salad sammiches, a couple of other salads, cheese straws and Waldorf salad and some dainty pastry for dessert. It was a lot of fun playing magnolia once in a while.
The big moon party was fun. SIL and I decided to take a short (but overdue) chick trip next weekend, destination to be decided later. Hung out with the heathens in the park this a.m. and had lunch at an historic BBQ joint, where we managed to solve most of the world’s problems.
Back from my experience in fine dinin’. 'Twas good.
MOOOOOOM pirate bike is tres !
Red I will admit I was a bit taken aback at the lack of pimento cheese and cheese straws yestiddy. However, I will allow that both are more reception type foodstuffs and this was a sit down luncheon.
Herbs forgot to say earlier, but yay for laigs healin’ up!
