I’ll pass; you’d enjoy that too much, I think.
Oooh, I’d better stop now before you put some Canadian saliva into that box of clothes or something. . .

Glim Ernie. But I didn’t want to confuse the poor girl.
Go see the London Broil there August 26-27 or September 2-4! They’re friends of mine from way back, and they put on a great show.
And stay away from Natty Boh. It’s undrinkable once you’re past legal drinking age.
Well, so far, so good - looks like I have an apartment lined up. I spent this morning at the Social Security Administration to get myself “a social”. Now I get to fight with the MVA about whether my Canadian license is good enough, or they want me to take a driving test. I reeeeally hope they don’t make me prove my skill, because I swear I will wet my pants if we get anywhere near the Beltway.
But I think I’ll like it here once things settle down. How could I not, with so many Dopers around?
OnlyMostlyDead - I love duckpin bowling! Mostly because I’m a sissy girl who can’t hang onto the giant bowling ball, so I need the little one.
Yeah, I know crabs are what MD’s all about. So please don’t throw me out for not liking seafood! I’m working on it, though, I swear! I even ate a scallop yesterday!
Plus, it’s way better than 10-pin for workin’ out a little aggression! You can really whip those little balls down the alley
Yeah, better until you hit the 1 pin right in the head and only succeed in knocking down the 1 and the 5 due to the non-overlapping, column-like formation of a duckpin set. Then it’s just frustrating.
Here in St. Mary’s county, driving tests are done on a closed course behind the MVA office - and it looks just like the closed course I used in Glen Burnie back in '71. So even if they want you to prove you can drive, it should be a piece o’pie!
And welcome to the Free State! We’ll have to include a little tour in Gingy’s fest - we can all walk across Putty Hill Road and down Water Oak to Amuskai - to the house where I spent my formative years. A pilgrimmage, if you will.
And then when you’re back, I’ll feed you from used plates.
Oh, like you haven’t already done that.
As Mrs. Only Mostly Dead, I’ll piggyback on my husband’s welcome to Anne Arundel County. We both live here too!
As for the MVA, I believe all but one location do their driving tests on closed courses (but it has been a few years since I took my driving test). So, no, they won’t make you get on the Beltway.
Once you get settled, it looks like there would be enough interest for a duckpin bowling Dopefest, and we can give you a proper welcome.
Welcome to Bawlmer Hon!
Actually I’m an alien too. Moved here in 1989 from England.
Catch an Oriole game (season starts in a couple of weeks). Tickets are err…plentiful
Check out Fells Point, Federal Hill and Canton for good nightlife.
Which then makes you angrier, and happier to whip even more mini-balls down the lane as hard as you can! See how they get 'ya!
Heh, she fed me from a used plate, too. FairyChatMom ate off of it and then Gingy gave it to me to use.
And yes, stay away from the Natty Boh. They brew it with water pumped straight from the Inner Harbor. Nasty shit, that Natty Boh.
OH! That’s so odd! I was just thinking about them earlier today because I ran into a friend online who is OBSESSED with them. I actually met her at one of their shows. It’s crazy! You are a friend huh? So what are they like?
Not to YOU.
Ra collected, but something didn’t make it in. I’ll get it to you later.
Cool, thanks. Whatever didn’t make it, maybe just save it for Antigen’s party, and I can pick it up then (maybe I’ll just bring my own plates. . .)
I don’t know what to tell you… they’re just the guys I grew up with. They’re just as funny in every day life as they are on stage, and they’re great guys to go on a road trip with.
I’m not sure they’re worth obsessing over, but I’ve never been sorry about hanging out with 'em.
Cool - I could go for some of that. You’ll be nice and let the newcomer win, right?
Yeah, not really sure myself. I always thought it was funny the way festival performers are treated by some people. Like they are gods or something.
I’m a little more curious than most about them because I really admired them. Kinda in a class of their own on that circuit. I do some acting and performing myself, and I learned alot watching them.
Oh well, Congrats on the move, Antigen, sorry for the hijack!
You’d better win.
I’ve got 400 quatloos riding on you.
